Is ‘Dora the Explorer’ becoming a live-action movie?

Dora is not really going to be a live-action movie but the College Humor website has made it’s own version, starring Ariel Winter of “Modern Family.” (She’s the brainy daughter.)

For parents who have suffered through hours of Dora not seeing Swiper, you’ll enjoy this video. (That means video in Spanish!)

(My 5-year-old wants you to know the Diego never uses guns.)

Which kids’ show would you like see made fun of in a similar way? Which shows make you the most crazy?

Interesting topic considering those of us with DirecTV are not currently receiving Nickelodeon during the pissing contest between Viacom and DirecTV.

/Has not missed Dora
//Or SpongeBob
///Or MTV for that matter

The Fresh Beat Band would cause Mother Theresa to hurt someone, I am certain. It is so awful, that K watches it only while I am cooking dinner and am not in the room. FBB and Sesame Street are about all he watches, but I truly abhor Fresh Beat Band.

I can’t stand any of the “cartoons” that are on nowadays. The high pitched squacking of the characters really hurts my ears and gives me a headache. I don’t know how parents listen to this crap all day long. Thank goodness my kids are all out of THAT phase….

All the Disney shows that make parents look like morons bug me. If we all acted like the parents on ANT Farm, Good Luck Charlie or Lab Rats it would Lord of the Flies on the playground!

As to which one should be live action…Kim Possible! More current cartoon…Monster High could b fun just for the f/x factors.

@K’s Mom – I guess then I’m glad I’ve never heard of FBB? :o)

I can’t stand Barney. Hubs bought DD a DVD, and she can only watch it in the playroom. She is fully invested in Doc McStuffins right now, and I don’t mind it at all. Guess I’m lucky!

The Doodle Bugs (is that the right Disney one) is the one I refused to be in the room with. Barney and Wiggles I could stomach but that band trio one made me ill.

I can easily see a Kim Possible live-action movie, perhaps with Mila Kunis as Kim, and maybe Josh Bell as Ron Stoppable and either Jayden Smith or Taj Mowry (who did the voice anyway) as Wade.

@ Patrick…yeah but I would still want Will Friedle to put in a cameo of some sort. He is about 5 years younger than me so too old for Ron at this point (he did the voice) but he is just so darn funny. I don’t think he has done anything but voice work since Boy Meets World closed. My kids found BMW this summer and I have had so much fun cracking up “Eric” all over again. That cast was darn good, and obviously the show centered on Ben Savage….but Will really brought some interesting depths to what was supposed to be a shallow pretty boy.

How about a discussion on the new Yahoo CEO, who happens to be pregnant with her first child and plans to work through her maternity leave. Is she the new face of working moms, does she give the rest of us in less high-powered jobs who took some leave a bad name, or does she have it easier because she can hire a whole fleet of nannies to help her? I’m sure a lot of us working moms will be watching her with great interest in the next few months!

@A I was just going to ask about that too. I think that this is an interesting move. Most men do not get paternity leave, will maternity leave become something “not done”?

She’s an idiot. Your body, after birthing a child, needs to recouperate, and sometimes that may take up to several months. You can’t do that while working 16-20 hours a day. Plus you are sacrificing your baby’s needs. Is she going to take the baby to work every day, and nurse every hour? Or will she let someone else raise her kid? Stupid move on her part. IMHO….

Will this open the door for other women to work through maternity leave? I hope not. I think she’s just tryng to be martyr, or she’s afraid of losing her high powered job.

@FCM – We could have Will Friedle still play Ron, and maybe Christy Carlson Romano as Kim, since they did the voices. True, they’d be too old…if you had the movie still featuring teenage Kim and Ron. However, I can see the movie as maybe being 10 or 20 years in the future, after the last episode (”Sitch in Time” movie), with Kim and Ron having married, possibly with kids, and perhaps Dr. Drakken also having retired, now being a college professor or going back to work in the research lab, but now helps Kim and Ron with some major mission.

I thought this was hysterical. Can’t wait to show it to my kids.

Caillou is,hands down, the most annoying show to me. He whines and fusses about everthing and the narrator is ten times more annoying than he is.
I also hated teletubbies but my kids never watched it.
I actually liked Barney. I loved the songs.
