I am behind on reading “The Help” so we need to move our discussion to Friday, Oct. 8.
I had been trying to check the book out through the library to save money, and it was taking way too long so I finally bought it this weekend. (I was No. 51 on the list but they had a lot of copies. Didn’t this book come out a long time ago? How could I be No. 51?)
I am sorry if anyone stressed out to finish reading it for this week.
If you have questions or discussion points you want us to hit email them to me and I can use them in the blog post. You can email me at ajcmomania@gmail.com. Put Book Club in the header so I can keep them organized.

Oh, gosh — I’ll have forgotten it by then! I read it a couple of weeks ago when it was first suggested, and that was four books ago!

It’s been out a couple of years, but it’s still in the top 10 on the NYT fiction bestseller list. It’s been there for something like 67 weeks! So it’s still in high demand from the library. I read it in fall of 2009, but I remember most of it I think!

I am in and out of town, as usual. As a teacher, when an ” assignment” is given. I get right on it.
I lugged that BIG book through airports and hotels so I would get it finished on time. I was busy with my clients but stayed with it and loved the book.
I am with DB, I finished it a while back and am now finished with another book and into my 3rd one.
I will not be available on Friday the 8th and am QUITE disappointed, as I immediately went out and bought the book. It is certainly your blog TWG and you have to do what works for you.
Perhaps others will be disappointed too as it is not a FUN FRIDAY topic. Maybe you could move it to Th the 7th? I LOVED the book and laughed at some parts but did not find it particularly FUN. I will not be on the blog most of that day, as I am heading out for some time with my daughter at noon and want to spend time with her but you do what everyone else prefers, as I realize I am NOT IN CHARGE LOL. Good thing too!
Guess I will not be taking these hints of a book discussion seriously, in the future. Maybe DB and I could discuss it over lunch?

I hope those who are reading it love it. You might like the “Miss Julia” series too, I laughed my butt off on those. They also represent the south.
I will not be on the discussion (you can rejoice! LOL) as I am reading The War After Armaggedon at present instead of the one being discussed.

I guess I am the only one to be happy about the delay. I had it in my “next” group, but life had made it a little difficult to find the time. I was looking forward to the discussion, but was planning on just missing the discussion if I had not finnished by then. Thankfully I was able to get time to start and am enjoying it very much.

Theresa…I put a hold on the book at the Gwinnett library the day your post came out and got it the next day. You must have a lot of people in Gwinnett reading along with you to be number 51 on the list! I’m not even halfway through but am loving it!

2 more books i reccommend are “Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons” by Lorna Landvik and “The Glass Castle: A Memoir” by Jeannette Walls … if we dont do these here as a discussion yall really should read them…they are great…as is “Saving Cee Cee Honeycutt” by Beth Hoffman…those are some of the favorites ive read in the last few months…
i will check out the posts that day—hopefully i will be reminded of things i may have forgotten…its been a while since i read it and i have too much reading to do to try to re-read it. but i will surely check it out whenever it is.
