Are you smelling like a lady in a heat wave?

I heard a funny radio ad the other day talking about a new product that fights UNDER BREAST SWEAT. I couldn’t tell exactly what the product was, but I really enjoyed their description of ladies rolling deodorant under their boobs to try to keep the girls dry.

I know this is a kind off crazy topic but I’m curious which deodorants or anti-perspirants the ladies are liking when the temperature is hitting in the 90s every day with extremely high humidity?

For years I’ve used Arrid Extra Dry clear gel because it doesn’t leave white stains on your clothes when you pull them on. I don’t think I ever stink but I certainly am still sweating.

The saleswoman at the Nordstrom who sold me my reunion dress recommended Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist anti-perspirant. It was $12 for the stick. She said she used it and all the ladies in the cosmetics used it, and that it just stops you from sweating.

First off I’m not sure that’s actually good for you to not sweat all the time — maybe just on special occasions.. (Don’t you need to sweat to cool off?)

Second off, there are drug store brands that claim about the same thing like the semi-new Secret Clinical strength.

So my questions are these: What are your favorite sweat -busting products for underarms or under boobs? Are you a powder girl? Do any of the products actually stop you from sweating? (I’ve also heard there are laser treatments to stop sweating. Anybody tried those?) Are you willing to pay $12 for deodorant if it really stops you from sweating?

Aluminum free is the only requirement, even tho science is still studying it’s benefits. Better safe than sorry.

Publix brand deodorant. Nothing fancy, nothing expensive.

You should NOT buy a product that keeps you from sweating. It is a body’s ability to cool itself, and you should not stop it from happening.

I’m ALWAYS hot. I have fans all throughout the house, and one at work. I have ceiling fans in every room at home also. I guess it’s that time of life for me, and I am always hot. I can be sitting watching tv, and start sweating…..gotta love that menopause!!! I have to carry tissues with me at all times, and a hand fan…..like the japanese geishas….

I would not recommend not sweating. You may get clogged oil ducts under the armpits and they are VERY painful. Some people sweat A LOT…I can see wanting to slow it down. For the normal person who is average in sweating…you are in the same boat as everyone else!

I use Suave and have for years! The best thing for under the girls is a good fitting bra! Although, when outside, even that may not be enough! :o)

I like Dove because it’s moisturizing and I have sensitive skin, especially after shaving. It works well enough to stop sweating (you’re always going to sweat a little) and it smells great.

Photius – I’m ok talking about male sweat too — my husband is a big fan of powder and he has taught our son to powder up as well— the kid uses like half a bottle on himself — he is a riot to watch patting powder on his under region and his underarms and then his feet — it cracks me up but that kid smells good!!!

Secret Clinical Strength under the armpits works really well if you have hyperhydrosis — which I have all of my life. The thing is … If you stop sweat in one place it will show up in another. Wet spots under your arms are embarrassing and I’ll do anything to prevent them.

I recently told my husband after a sweat-fest in the yard that bras are really like sweat bands for boobs in the summer.

I usually buy whatever is cheapest with a coupon. I don’t sweat too much unless I’m at the gym, running or outside doing yard work (in which case I should be sweating) so I usually just worry about the smell. The only stuff I’ve found that doesn’t work is the Adidas antiperspirant. Even when it’s nearly free with a coupon it’s not worth it.

Boob sweat? Maybe, but perhaps if he were to shorten his swing a little and show some patience at the plate he could get more pitches to hit…If I were a pitcher, I throw at his head and wipe that arrogant look off of his face though.

You really should sweat a bit! I don’t want anything that will completely stop it, but I do use a spray talc under “the girls” in the summer. It does get really sweaty, and the spray talc helps a lot and smells lovely. I get mine from the Passion Parties people who do the in-home sex toy parties, but you can find other spray talcs at different places. Suave baby powder deodorant spray is good for it too. I will NOT pay $12 for deodorant -I can tell you that. I like the Degree -especially the pomegranite/plumeria (or something like that).

Consumer Reports cites a recommendation from the American Academy of Dermatology to apply antiperspirants at night. This makes the product work more effectively, as more product is drawn into the pores to reduce or stop sweating. “The effect lasts 24 hours or longer, even after morning bathing,” according to the article (July, 2009 issue, page 12).

Had a major problem with sweaty underarms until a friend told me about Certain Dri. It’s like $4 at Kroger – you put it on at bedtime once every 3 days (but NOT the same day you shave – OUCH!). It’s awesome! No more sweaty underarms.

Preventing sweat under your arms is perfectly healthy because the rest of your skin still sweats.

First.

Wow, are you guys saying that Yunel Escobar’s average is sagging similarly to an elderly woman’s breasts? It is a hot summer though, so i understand the sweaty concern. We appreciate all you ladies taking care of that so we don’t have to ever encounter it (hopefully).

P.S. Keep up the good work mom’s, we love you

This is awesome. Simply awesome. Hey, maybe they should link Momania to the DOB/MIB blog once in a while, see what kind of cross pollenation occurs.

And if Secret is the answer to Yunel’s power outage…hey, try it. What’s he got to lose?

Oh, and Yunel has those nice frosted tips, so maybe there IS a crossover opportunity…
