Is Victoria’s Secret meant for Moms?

I took a very discouraging shopping trip to Victoria’s Secret last week that made me wonder if the store and the line are actually meant for mothers.

I got my hair cut and colored and dropped into the store on my way home. I was actually alone, which rarely happens, and thought it be nice to buy a couple of new sexy items. Other than some fairly plain supportive bras and panties from Target (so sad!!), I haven’t bought any new sexy stuff in probably six years. (I keep trotting old the same numbers hoping Michael still likes them.)

I went in with high expectations all excited about the different colors and styles of the little nighties and sexy bras.  I felt like there were just hundreds of choices all around the store. But then the saleslady measured my chest.

She deemed me a 38-D and walked over and pulled out a drawer and said here are the bras in your size.

I was reduced from an entire store to a drawer!!

(In fairness I think there was one other drawer she could pull from, but definitely not a whole store.)

Very depressing. Color options very limited and styles greatly reduced. As for the nighties, a lot of them have bras inside of them which were all too small for my particular chest size. It was also very depressing.

At least the panties fit!

I came home all deflated (pun intended).  I told Michael I was trying to surprise him with some new sexy stuff but nothing fit.

In a shocking moment of a husband saying exactly right thing, Michael said, “Honey that store isn’t for you. It’s for young girls with no curves. It’s not for women.”

He made me feel a lot better. I know I can’t shop at Gap because the clothes just aren’t cut for women with curvy hips, and I guess it’s the same now for Victoria’s Secret.

I dropped into a local specialty lingerie store yesterday, Necessities by Sherrie, and she had lots of stuff in D-cup sizes. Unfortunately I had a toddler with me so I told her I would be back another day to try on.  I felt like an idiot wasting my time last week at Victoria’s Secret. I should have just headed to Sherrie’s.

What has your experience been with the sizes and cuts at Victoria’s Secret? Do you think they are meant for young women who haven’t gained the curves of childbearing? Are there other stores or other lines that you find you just can’t wear since having kids? Where do you have the best luck finding sexy stuff for mothers with curvy shapes?

Editor’s Update: In researching this blog I did find a few more 38D and DD sizes on Victoria’s Secret Web site so maybe they have more online in the bustier sizes than in the store. Although, it’s hard to buy without trying on unless you just plan to send back a bunch.

LOL…posting your bra size on here T….too funny. Wonder if anyone else will join you?
I am not small chested but will not be adding mine today.

I will say this…I do NOT wear thong panties…as someone else said, ” I do not need a string of dental floss to get stuck in there….” :) Do any 50 year olds wear them…JJ…you are a very modern 50 year old and you might? TMI maybe.

I rarely shop at Victoria’s Secret but do like fun underwear. There are other places to get it. They do have large bras at Ross, Marshalls or Target….from the bettor venodrs but they will not be able to fit you. Since you have already done so…maybe you should check? Also Kohls? I never wear white and only own one beige bra. All others are black, red, navy, grey, prints etc.

Once in a while I do see woman who still buy plain Jane underwear and I wish they would live a little but that is just me and maybe they fell better in granny panties and cross your heart bras. NONE OF MY BUSINESS FOR SURE.

I could go in several directions but will resist and stick to point. My instinct tells me that the moms that wear/shop at V.S. are not the moms that blog here. Different set of priorities.

The feeling of “that’s all the selection you got?” is the feeling I get as a man when I go in to ANY store, so I understand that feeling.

My experience with V.S. has been that the quality is extremely poor. Also my experience is that a woman’s underthings have to match both her figure AND her personality or it just isn’t sexy. When a woman matches both, very sexy.

Lane Bryant has great options for big chested women. Maybe you should try them as well. I always wondered if N.b.S. was a good store to try. Are they expensive??? You must live in the Lilburn/Snellville area. :-)

Theresa, it’s not just moms. It really is ANYONE that has a bra size bigger than 34B. I’ve always been um…endowed, even before I has children and I never was able to shop at V.S.

So don’t feel bad.

Hmmm…I love Victoria Secret bras. That’s all that I wear. I’ve always had just the opposite issue, even when I was in my 20’s. I have a smaller chest but big butt and hips. I have never bought a bra and panty set for that reason. My daughter loves the Pink section for bras and panties. They’re fun and appropriate so I don’t mind. She will also have difficulty finding sets when she’s older ’cause she’s got momma’s butt and hips. It’s really hard when you have a tiny waist and the bottom half is curvy. You can imagine what it’s like trying to find a pair of jeans that fit. It’s been an issue my entire life, and my daughter’s as well.

Hey guys — My point in revealing the bra size (which I think I’ve actually talked about before) is that I’m not fat — I just have a big chest cause I nursed three babies for 18 months each. And what doesn’t make sense to me is in all of VS’s ads they’re showing big boobs so why the cut off???? I did find more colors online for one bra I tried on and liked pretty well.

Lissy — NBS is great. Sherrie is fantastic and gives very personal service. She will remember you and help you. She was working with an older woman yesterday when I popped in sitting on her couch talking with the woman about what she was looking for in a bra and how Sherrie could help with a lot of her health issues by just a better fitting bra. (hard not to hear in the store)

The last bra i bought from Sherrie a year ago was $95. That was part of the reason I went to VS first was I was just looking for some cheap sexy stuff not something to support me all day long. But I did notice yesterday when I walked through that she had a lot of $60 bras — so I think instead of paying $45 for a bra I’m OK with I should have just asked Sherrie to find me a $60 she felt good about. She had some whole lines that were just for D cups and above. So I do feel like I messed up.

Nope sorry MJG – no thongs here, unless they are on my feet…….LOL

Funny story, years ago, we were all sitting around my mom’s house, talking about how she used to disclipine my brother and me. My sister in law was there as well. My brother goes “yea Mom used to spank me with her thong”. My sister in law’s eyes got huge, and she turned and looked at me, with this crazy look on her face. I whispered to her, that’s what we used to call “flip flops” back in the day. My SIL goes, “oh my god, I had this vision of your mom stripping down to her underwear, and whipping off her thong and hitting him with it.” We still laugh about that……

VS is for the young “skinny-minis”, size 0. My daughter and nieces love their stuff, and have shopped there for at least 5 years. I have NEVER bought anything from there for myself, as I’m an average sized woman, and they just don’t cater to my size. But I don’t really care…..I’m happy with Kohl’s clearance rack. I just bought a beautiful bra, on clearance, for $6.50.

@MomsRule…….maybe it’s just my experience that my ex wife’s V.S. products tended to fray at the seams fairly quickly in the wash. I know there are steps to take to prevent, but just saying….. Then again, if they were made of IRON, that wouldn’t exactly work either! :)

I don’t the issue is being a mom – the issue is having real boobs. The silicone parts will fit because you can literally move them around to fit the bra. But true busty women won’t find much there. Having curves won’t exclude you because I have curves and I can fit the panties and some of the nighties. But, then again, I am a member of the IBTC (Itty Bitty T***y Committee – TMI – I know).

Theresa – don’t be discouraged. There are literally tons of places you can get some really hot underwear. When you really want to walk on the wild side, check Frederick’s of Hollywood. But remember, the sexiest thing you can bring into the bedroom is confidence!

I’m a D also and have always found VS bras hard to find in my size (especially since I started running and dropped to a 32 rib size–last time I went in, there were two bras in my size–not two styles, but two individual bras, same style, different colors). I ended up ordering online. It was after I’d finished nursing my son and needed to re-stock my “real” bras in my updated size – so I ordered five during the semi-annual sale and got free shipping.

I love VS underwear, though! I am not brand-loyal about many things, but I am about underwear. I only wear VS, and I must have 30-35 pairs of their standard cotton – in almost every color and pattern that has been offered in the last five years. I used to stock up during the sem-annual sales, when I could get them for $2.99+ each. Now I have enough that I only buy on occasion. The only underwear I’ve ever found to be more comfortable, is the Body By Victoria collection – but they cost a lot more, so I don’t have quite as many. :)

I have found that Frederick’s of Hollywood seems to have “curvier” lingerie. There is an outlet at Discover Mills and I have been able to get some GREAT deals there (and while I used to think that store was trashier than VS, I’ve found they actually have some relatively conservative, “prettier” rather than “trashier” options). We don’t exchange V-Day gifts, but it seems to be our tradition for one new item every year, at Valentine’s Day. Not that I use it that often, but it’s nice to get some new players in the rotation.

Interesting topic. On a good day, i’m 36C and bad day i’m 38C. I get all my bras at VS because I don’t know any other place that sells cotton bras for cheap. It was tough for me to understand that I went from 34B to a bigger size. Anyways, the bras are not sexy but they fit and they are cotton. My husband doesn’t care one way or other what I wear. so, works out for me :)

Theresa, I think the big-breasted models are (like someone else noted) working with silicone :) and also are being shoved into cups too small for them – so they look even bigger. Theresa, while reading your entry I was going to say try the online store. That’s where I get a lot of my VS undies. I have an 8 month old and my breast size has remained at a 36C since they plumped up while being pregnant. I like the sexy stuff that I get at Victoria’s and so does my husband. But he also likes the “fun” stuff that I get at Target, Macy’s or buy online from Hane’s, Jockey, etc. like the matching colorful bras and panties.

I love to wear boy shorts with matching tank-tops to sleep in. They are comfortable and non-granny looking. LOL

Another place you can try is Bare Necessities.

@ JJ…funny story.

TODAY, we are on the same page;

I have never paid more than $25 for a bra and typically $12-$20:they do retail for $40-$60…
You can get goods buys on bras but I DO NOT want to keep one for 15 years…5 is max for me, so I guess if you pay $95 for a bra…it should be around for a while. I have at least 8 bras and that would be quite a purchase! Kinda like some ladies pay $200 for a purse..not me!

@Andrea, I did check out her jeans and I just can’t do it. I just learned of the PZI jeans so I plan on ordering a pair. I found some on sale for $50 on line, so I’ll definitely give them a try. Honestly, I usually do Baby Phat jeans (when I can find them without the huge cat going across my butt). But they fit really well. I just hate the cat. I am a grown woman and I don’t care to look like a teenager. My daughter would never wear the CJ Jeans because she’s 15 and they’re not flashy enough. But she literally has the waist of someone that wears a size 2 but the hips of a size 4 or 6. She just becomes very frustrated.

@JJ, those are just the “plain” cotton ones. I have two drawers of underwear. It was an obsession for a while (pre-parenthood). But, I never have to worry about having a clean pair! And considering I have some that are worn only a couple times a year (because they get shoved to the back of a drawer and forgotten for three months), they last practically forever. It can be for Moms. Some women don’t change their looks just becauuse they are a mother. First of all the VS models have fake boobs and small chest measurements (around). They’re probably 32 and 34 Cs and Ds -and as someone else noted -they’re shoved into different sizes to make their boobs look bigger. VS does cater to the younger, less curvy type when it comes to sexy stuff. I do LOVE their cotton bras and panties for basics. They’re super comfortable and come in a variety of colors and the cotton high-cut briefs have long been a fave -they usually have really cute patterns. I am and always have been very curvy. No matter where I am on the scale, I have definite curves and a C cup. My derriere is large and has always been the biggest part of my body, but I’ve always been able to wear VS cotton stuff. When I’m over a size 14 however, (I sadly have a tendency to yo-yo), I find that their sexy stuff doesn’t work. I second what others say about ordering online from them -MUCH larger selection (in both ways).

Intimacy at Phipps will make sure you have a good fit AND they have lots of sexy stuff! It is expensive though. I was actually surprised and very happy to find some really sexy and lacy nice bras and panty sets at the Vanity Fair/Hanes outlet at Discover Mills. They have great buys and sell a lot of Bali underwear too. They have a variety of sizes including some VERY large ones and I got sexy looking black late and leopard print tap pants and matching bra and solid black lace matching sets there. Currently I’m a 38-40 C.

In addition to the sexy stuff, I purchased two cotton bras for $14 a piece, and they’re definitely giving the VS cotton bras I love so much a run for their money. They’re VERY comfortable and supportive! ATLien is correct -Soma has some great stuff for real women (I’m not talking really big sizes, but average grown women who aren’t 21 and a size 2). I’ve also had good luck finding some really sexy stuff that fits at department stores like Macy’s, Nordstrom, Dillard’s, etc. WOW -didn’t know I had so much to say about undies!

I don’t buy sexy underwear. My husband doesn’t appreciate them (he just wants to get nekkid) and I have a build that is difficult to flatter. I have average size breasts and a curvy butt, however from the front and back I don’t really have an hour-glass shape. I’m built more like a gymnast – no waist or hips but flared muscular legs. As a result most sexy underwear are cut in ways that make my legs look short and heavy (well, they ARE heavy but they’re pretty lean).

I do appreciate a good bra for how it helps me fit a shirt, though. But I won’t spend the money at VS.

IMO the key to good underwear is cute AND comfortable. There are some pieces that I have that I purchased at lingerie parties and other places that most would say is really sexy, but they are quite uncomfortable. Some of that super lacy stuff is itchy.

When I buy stuff now, be it bras, panties, camis, teddies, it has to be as comfortable as it is sexy. Because you know sometimes I just like to wear the super sexy stuff under my clothes even when the hubby doesn’t know I have it on.

Don’t get me started. Three years ago my sister got a coupon for a free pair of panties from Victoria’s Secret she went in with her 10-year-old daughter. Guess who walked out with that pair of free panties? It was my niece who got not a pair of extra-small, but a pair of small boy-cut panties. Did I mention that not only was she 10 years old at the time, but she was, and still is, medically underweight, 4% percentile and on a weight gain program.

Now what was that question you were asking at the beginning of this blog?

That whole ‘they get bigger after you breastfeed’ thing definitely didn’t happen to me. I had the exact opposite (and I was not big to begin with by any means) so I couldn’t shop at VS except for underwear for years. I felt bad one year my husband even bought me a cute bra and panty set for Christmas and I had to return it b/c even the smallest size didn’t fit. Almost all of their bras in the store are B & C cups. I don’t shop at VS now simply because there isn’t one nearby. Kohls, Target, Ross and Marshall’s are the stores nearby so I tend to go there and find them cheaper which suits me just fine.

I definitely think the underwear from VS is great quality. Even their cute panties last repeated machine washings. Bras are a bit more delicate so I always wash them in a lingerie bag and then hang dry no matter where I bought them to ensure they last a little longer.

RJ, I’m with you on the jean issue. I am not big but my waist and hips are definitely not proportionate according to standard jean sizes. But I also cannot fathom spending $80-100 on a pair of jeans so I have only a couple and have to wear a belt to cinch in the gap.

Theresa there in lies the #1 benefit to NOT nursing my babies. It stretches your chest all out. Don’t care if that seems selfish or not. It is my body I have to live with it. FCM, I nursed my son for 12 months and after, I’m back to my pre-pregnancy size. (I lost weight and my rib size dropped a few months before I got pregnant, so I didn’t want to invest in new bras without knowing what size I’d be a few months down the road.) While I was nursing, my cup size went up one but my rib size was unchanged (it did go up from a 32 to a 34 during pregnancy). When my boobs deflated post-milk, they were the same size as before. Yes, they are saggy and stretched. But apparently they still take up the same volume, because I measured the same size.

You have every right to choose whether or not to nurse – I don’t want to imply that I’m making a judgmental statement. I’m agreeing that mine stretched out, but the size went back to what it had been.

FCM – that’s so a myth…that breastfeeding stretches you out and if you don’t breastfeed it won’t happen. Getting pregnant stretches them out, if it’s going to. Even if you elect not to breastfeed your body still produces milk in the beginning and you get engorged. It’s only when you don’t start breastfeeding that it goes away.

So, what makes boobs stretch out is pregnancy and age. One you can do something about. The other, no.

FYI – I breastfed for 9 months. My boobs originally got to a 38DD, right in the days before and after my son was born. They didn’t get any bigger over the course of the 9 months. But sometime between now and then I became a runner and now I am a 36C (because I am a size 4).

So, whatever your reasons for not breastfeeding, and you’re right who cares…you were misled that by not doing so you would preserve your maidenly boobs. Credit your genetics.

Yes, that’s after one baby. :) I’m not holding my breath that it will stay this way forever. I have heard other women say that it’s the second baby that does them in – then again, I’ve witnessed many women say (and exemplify) that the first was all their bodies could take. I guess I’ll have to see what my body does down the road . . . for now, I’m enjoying while it lasts.

Ahh, the myths of pregnancy . . . I was told (while pregnant) that my rib cage would never go back to its pre-pregnancy size. That my hips would do the same. My rib cage was back within a week, and my hips were back to pre-preg size after about four months (the weight came off faster, but the hips were still a little wide for the old pants). Has there been a topic on pregnancy/childbirth myths? Boy, the things that have been said . . .

And I said it’s a myth so it’s not even a benefit. Your boobs didn’t stretch out during your pregnancy, etc, because you got lucky with genetics.

I only gained 30lbs during pregnancy yet I got the worst and most prolific stretch marks all over my belly. My friend who was pregnant at the same time, same height as me, gained 80lbs. Not a stretch mark on her. Better skin genetics than me!

I love VS panties and the Body by Victoria collection when I find it on sale, but I have a hard time finding bras period because I am a 40DD. I was a B cup in Elementary, a C cup in Middle, and a D cup in High school. I do not have any children nor was I ever pregnant, it’s all natural. My older sister was part of the IBTC and complained that I took her share of hips, breast and butt.

Is VS for Moms? Sure, petite moms who go back down to pre-pregnancy weight. The problem with VS is that they are not made for truly curvaceous women, but instead the petite, delicate, possibly artificially enhanced women. I used to shop there with my former MIL, and she was tiny with DD implants. (She’d had breast cancer, before anyone makes snap judgments.) She would fit into everything, while me as a 38D had NOTHING to try on. I’m still okay with that though, because she was always so frustrated that most of the bras and panties did not match perfectly, yet when we went to Lane Bryant I could easily get cute and matching sets.

Lane Bryant is a great place for larger bras and panties. I’ll readily admit that they’re not very friendly to the smaller plus-sized women nor the largest plus-sized women, but for those in the 18-24 size range (or 38D-44DD range) they’re very nice. I don’t know that they have 34E in too many styles, unfortunately, but you could definitely check their website before driving around to check stores. I’ve been extremely happy with LB’s bras since I started wearing them about 8 years ago. They are fairly durable and generally always fit well and are sexy, and generally you can catch them on sale and only spend about $30 per bra. Good luck!

VS is for women and some women are moms. VS has most sizes, xs to xl and from a cup to d cup.

Michelle

February 4th, 2010
10:33 am

I’m going to have to go back through and read the responses…VS is only good up to about a D size. Once you get above that, they start increasing the band size to make the cup fit! WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!

I used to shop there pre-baby. I started out about a 33 DD before the boy, now I’m at a 33 G! I was up to a J during pregnancy and nursing! You HAVE to get them fit properly to feel good! Then, when they fit right, they look good too (even though it’s hard to look good when each boob is as big as your head! LOL). Keep in mind, I’m only 5′2″ and about 140-145! Guess where most of that weight is coming from!

I typically will shop at Intimacy at Phipps. They do carry some pretty/sexy bras and panties! My stop is going to be NBS because they are MUCH closer than Phipps! The down side is that they are more expensive. The up side, they will alter the bra to fit you (i.e. they come in even sizes 32, 34, etc. but I am a 33 and they will decrease the strap length so you don’t have to adjust so much!)

I used to wear thongs until baby came along. Now I am just not comfortable with my body like I was. If I could lose some of my weight, I would wear them again! There are different kinds that are VERY comfortable! (I’m 40) I also know of several women who are a little older who are comfortable wearing thongs as well!

VS is more for the young ladies with the perfect figures (or close to it)!

Yes, I used to weigh 220lbs…back after having my son, finishing grad school, and moving away from family to Atlanta (though I love it here – but it took a few years to put down roots). I used to commute 36 miles a day (1.5 hours up/down I-85) and I put on a lot doing that and the fast food cuisine. But a few years ago I moved to town, found more time to cook, took control of things before I got much oler, and along the way fell in love with running. Now I commute to work by bike 2x a week and once a week I run to/from work (10 miles roundtrip). Either way takes me about 40-45 minutes. Takes 25 to drive.

Hey, I love food and BEER. But I run 40+ miles a week so I can still indulge a little.

But no amount of exercise (or hair style or clothes style) will disguise the fact that I am closer to 40 than I am to 20. And that’s okay. I sure as hell don’t want to be mistaken for a younger woman. I earned this.

So did all y’all!

“Are our men more apt to say yes, VS looks great on us – even if they only see it for five minutes?”

If you look good, then you would look great in underwear. Not a lot to expand upon. Men don’t really care where you bought the underwear, if it fits well, costs a lot, or even if it has holes in it. If you have a nice body, we would like to see you in underwear. If you do not have a nice body, we would like you to wear a lot of clothes.

Hello all….many have mentioned the quality of VS products and I have to agree that the quality of the VS brand has deteriorated over time. I used to love the VS cotton panty line, but within the last five years, the materials have changed – the cotton line is starting to resemble the Pink like which for me results in a lot of riding. I enjoyed the VS brand because it was the only brand of panties I found that did not ride…that is no longer true. Additionally, their bras aren’t much better. I spent $42 on the full-figured Biofit bra and within a month the wire started coming through the bra. I only hand washed per the instructions and still has this issue. A $50 bra should not ‘break’ within a month.

I think the distinction needs to be made, are we talking about bras and panties for everyday use, or are we talking about lingerie for visual use and enhancing a mood after hours?

When we’re getting ready for work in the morning and the wife is putting on her everyday VS stuff…she’s smoking. I love it. I honestly think Dillards competes pretty well against VS for that special, mood enhancing, lingerie.

I think the real answer to this question has as much to do with self body image as it does with anything else.

@CLD…the answer to your question for me is this…I don’t really care what brand or style my wife is wearing. If you want to enhance the mood, start with getting over being shy about sexuality. If women say and act in a way that is actually fun and doesn’t have to be ALL about intimacy and love and being “one” with each other, it won’t matter if you’re wearing 15 year old jeans or 5 minute old thigh highs. We guys are simple…intimacy and closeness is great, but so is leaving the lights on and having fun. My wife could dress in a burlap sack at dinner and whispered some “fun” things in my ear, she’s the hottest girl in joint!

We are simple….it’s the truth! Contrary to all the myths that we’re totally visually motivated, the biggest erogenous zone for us is between the ears.

I can prove it too for anyone daring enough to try the experiment. Ladies…one night, wear something sexy from wherever you choose when hubby/SO comes to bed…then tell them it’s time to turn out the lights and get busy.
The next week, call your hubby/SO 6 or 7 times throughout the day and tell them, graphically, all the NAUGHTY things you’re going to do to them that night. Wear sweatpants and a T-shirt when he gets home. See which one has the more enthusiastic response!

@MOMof2..thanks for the lesson! I actually stole that theory from a movie called “beautiful girls” with Timothy Hutton, Matt Dillon, and Rosi O’Donnell. Rosie gave a monologue that generally speaking, bigger up top had a direct relationship to the size of the rump. And generally speaking, the smaller the back side, the smaller up top. After I watched that movie, I started looking around….and generally speaking, it stood on its merits. No judgement applied, some guys are boob men, some guys are butt guys. But those fortunuate women, who without comsetic enhancements, that have the perfect small butt and perfectly sized boobs are in the minority. Just my opinion of course.

I don’t think it is fair to judge all VS models are being silicone-enhanced. Heidi Klum has had tons of kids and seems to be able to find VS bras (of course she has trainers and such, and a perfectly fitted bra) and she is naturally endowed. Same for Tyra Banks, a very curvy gal. When did “curvy” become fat, and when did anything below a size 8 become a stick figure?? I do agree that VS tends to fit a younger crowd in terms of colors and patterns, and I have’t shopped there in years. I agree with MJD that you can find great stuff – high quality and name-branded – at Marshalls. You just need to be able to sift through a lot. Valentine’s Day coming up – I think may have to trade my cottons for sothing more enticing :). Good luck Teresa!

Did anyone tell you to look for difference sizes? For example, while they measured me to be a 36DD, I can also wear a 38C or D, depending on the style and the cut. My sister is an almost B cup, and has a harder time than me finding something to wear in there.

I don’t like to hear that Victoria’s Secret is not for moms! I just think it has more to do with your bra size than anything. ANY mom should be able to go into a store and buy herself something sexy if that’s what she wants. I have found however that most of the mall stores seem to cater to teens…and that goes for just about any type of clothing. Tiny waists…no curves. If a store has an online version you can usually find a MUCH BETTER selection of sizes. That being said, it is better to be able to try the stuff on…so finding a store that caters to the curvy would be a real time saver. I do wear the VS panties, and I love their lotions, ect. But I, like Theresa must search for a more supportive bra.

The back row busted out laughing and I asked what what up. A lady said:

ALCOHOL, PROZAC, HUSBANDS

I was thinking….”where is she going with this?”

She said….you will need alcohol or Prozac if you have a husband and will not need either if you don’t.

Hee hee Wayne -yes, Phipps here is Atlanta’s most upscale mall with shops like Saks, Versace, Gucci, etc. They have started catering to “regular” folks in the last 10 years though and they do have a Nordstrom, J.Jill, Chico’s, etc. Still really nice (and not exactly cheap) stores, but stuff you can actually wear and afford! Intimacy there is awesome!

Better question of the day is should a 9 year old be coming out with a line of Lingerie. Did any of you see that crazy article about Miley Cyrus’s little sister? There were pictures of her scantily clad as well as pictures of her at a pole dancing class. Someone please call DFACS!

OK -Cammi317 you’re right -that’s GROSS! And, she’s even uglier than her sister! I’m so thankful I don’t have pre-teen or young teen daughters. Who on earth is the Cyrus publicist? That person deserves millions from them because Miley is one of the ugliest trashy looking things I’ve seen in a long time and this sister looks even worse!

This 59 year-old has several pair of thong panties. However, they don’t stay on long. I am also big chested. I have gotten some sexy stuff at JC Penny and online. Your husband is correct. Victoria’s Secret is for little girls, not women with curves.

Skimmed through the responses….I am a 36/38 DD and have LOTS of bras and panties from VS. As far as sexy stuff for men goes…show up nekkid, with beer….if you have to do more than that…he is probably gay or SO not into you. Quit overthinking it women!

i almost missed the discussion… i go with liz claiborne or calvin klein. i abandoned VS – the quality is just not the same as it was 10 years ago. i have to say that i loved VC cotton underware, but lately their cotton became so see-though. i think VS lately became so teen oriented. as for my girls, they are small :-(, so i can get my bra almost in every store.

I love underware and my “comfort zone” is about 40 pairs.

@justmy2cents….nekkid with beer…you southern belles get right down to business. I’ll admit, most guys will initially be glad that’s your move…but after about a year..that gets pretty old.

True -I’ve always found nekkid -with or without the beer -to do the trick!

Shoot there are times you don’t even need the beer! Call your honey on his/her cell phone and ask them to please come see you (state a place/room) because you have a problem. When they show up be nekkid or otherwise let them know what the “problem” is.

The guy I dated for awhile (broke up almost a year ago) loved this one: I called him and he did not answer his phone. I left a voice mail that plainly stated “Too bad you did not answer. This was your Booty Call. If you call back soon you might get lucky. You wait too long I might have lost the mood.” He called about an hour later (he lived a 45 min drive from my house) and said “you had better go to your door or your neighbors will be calling the cops.” don’t recall what I wore to the door but I doubt he cared. He walked in, locked it grabbed me in a fierce kiss and um……I remember still being in bed at noon the next day. I ;)

Some how I don’t think it is all that a new an idea either:
“Well East coast girls are hip
I really dig those styles they wear
And the Southern girls with the way they talk
They knock me out when I’m down there

The Mid-West farmer’s daughters really make you feel alright
And the Northern girls with the way they kiss
They keep their boyfriends warm at night” (Beach Boys–no I am not that old! It is CLASSIC).

I am NOT a Southern belle…ewww…damn Yankee here. Tiger- I over-simplified it of course, but if, initially, that does not garner the response wanted…time to move on. Besides, you know you can’t throw all your mojo out there at once. You have to unveil your tips & tricks gradually to keep things interesting.

Which team do you play for? Or are you a switch hitter?

@Van….yeah, look how well a wife just being available to have sex worked for Tiger’s wife, Elin! I’m telling you ladies, if your signature move that you go to 99% of the time is to just get naked (with or without beer), I’ll admit your guy may oblige every time…but sooner or later, he’s thinking and wishing you were trying something new (or wishing or fantasizing that he was with someone else who would!)

@Tiger… How do you know so much about the Woods’ sex life?

And I don’t think we got a single pic from this blog. At least it was exciting to read!

My wife turns 52 in March and even after having 3 kids, she still looks FANTASTIC and yes she does wear a thong most of the time! She use to shop a VS, but hasn’t in the past several years as she finds Nordstrom’s more to her liking. Interestingly, in a recent purchase she was measured after not having been measure in several years and was informed she had moved from a C cup to a D cup. Grrrrrrr!! Oh, baybay……I think I’m feeling a bit randy…..gottta go………..

You know, for all these complaints about VS – the simple truth is that they don’t have a smorgasboard of delicates in any one size. They carry a wide range of items, in a wide variety of sizes. ANY woman, of ANY size will have trouble finding a whole bunch in HER size, because they will only have a few things of EACH particular size.
I am very small busted, and always find they only have a few items for me, because they carry a little bit in every size.
If you want to guarantee a huge number of choices that will fit YOU, the store would need be a gigantic warehouse.

As women get older, the hair gets shorter, and the underwear gets longer……

So sad…why is that?

Guess this is what keeps us older men (40’s) seeking those beautiful young ladies who know what it takes to keep a man. Affair start when we are neglected :)

But at least she tries……

I just don’t think they know how to stock the stores right. I am petite, XS and 32 A or B, and have always had a hard time finding the right size/style at VS. There are always just a small number of bras (like 2 or 3) to choose from in the 32 A and B drawers. Sometimes they are empty. If I see some cute panties with cute prints, I am likely to see a bunch of L and XL but not XS. If I see some XS panties, they are likely the plain kind that I don’t like. I have much better luck shopping on their web site.

Fact: A blog is a great way for fat women in denial to vent after they’ve been told the truth.

I am 42 years old and wouldn’t buy my bras anywhere else. I do not shop in the VS stores because the selection is small. I shop online and purchase bras, undies, dress pants and shirts for work, sweaters, t-shirts and bikinis- you name it! I am an almost exclusive VS woman. And yes, I have a curvy figure that VS works well on, 34D-25-36. I LOVE their clothing!
