I know that Kanye would have sustained some injuries if he had done that at the CMAs. It must be hard for him to understand that the attraction of Taylor Swift is her wholesome image, and she's not in the 'ganster' thug genre music he creates. Country is mainstream...even Hootie has gone country.

Rap offends me, and I don't let my kids watch any videos unless I have first seen it. I usually do watch CMT...videos. My girls are 10 and 11. They like Taylor Swift because she is genuine herself, writes her own songs, doesn't have a parent pushing her career--ie Miley, and doesn't have to go around "pretending and lying" like Miley does on Hannah Montana.

Captain Obvious, if Taylor Swift did not thank BEYONCE for giving up HER moment then she is wrong. Beyonce had no obligation to give Taylor the spotlight. She chose to because she's classy but she didn't have to. When someone does something for you that they don't have to do, you say thank you.

RS -- Obama and the Senator work for the PEOPLE....not each other. The Senators job is to represent his consituants. That said he was out of line to use that forum to redicule the President. His mama probably did teach him better and if alive wants to knock him upside the head.

The Rappers comments were no more racial than Sen. Wilson's. BOTH were WRONG WRONG WRONG for what they did and how they did it. I do not believe race was a motivator in either case.

ABC said that the President called the Kayne an a$$....well he did show his rear. Plus, I respect the President more if he actually did call the guy that.

The guy's a drunk who got his brains (and apparently his self-control) from a bottle of cognac. "Stupid is as stupid does."

There is entirely too much worship of celebrities, simply because they are celebs. Look (if you dare) in the checkout lines for proof. Remember back in the day, when "Entertainment Tonight" covered actual careers and projects by actors/musicians, etc? Now it's just gossip. Most celebs are tortured, miserable yet talented people who are expertly packaged and marketed by those who stand to profit from celebrity worship.

I must agree with what other posters have said: kids need real people - teachers, coaches, pastors, etc. - as role models, not some coddled, dysfunctional person who happens to be famous.

wow...this sure got off topic lol...to D-you said god bless america...he did and look what we did with his blessings....
to MJG-i wish i lived in atlanta id love to have lunch with you...i love having conversations with intelligent people who actually have opinions and stuff :)...
as for role models...i never let my kids watch roseanne until they were old enough to not be influenced...those peiople were the most sarcastic bunch of people to each other...as an adult i have to admit some of it was funny...but it got old..i cant stand people to be so mean...there is no excuse for it...so any people i favored as role models for my kids were people who were nice-honest....people who liked to read and learn new things-people who made it through adversity-those kids of people...most were just people we knew...not famous people on tv...i know they have adverssity in their lives, but face it..most of what we hear of their adversity is how hard it is for them to stay sane when making millions of dollars...geeze---or how botox injections messed up their faces...i always tried to make my kids be satisfied with what they are born with...their intelligent levels..make the most of that...be able to carry on a decent conversation with people--be able to form their own opinions..even if no one agrees....be honest-have integrity...are kids even taught those things anymore? those are the kids of people i tried to steer my kids to.

sure hope we get back to a more normal mommania tomorrow....im off work for 2 days (this is my tgif!!) so i have plenty of time to hang out and post...

and to the person who dissed theresa about the topic..go back and read what the topic was...it wasnt meant to be how it ended up...

Someone should have tackled Kanye in the middle of his ridiculous comments! Good for Beyonce and her comments about remembering being a young performer winning and then giving Taylor Swift her time to accept the award.
