Kate said ‘The show Must go on!’ Seriously? Why, must the show go on? There are other things out there in the world to do in order to make a living.

Definitely a case of misplaced priorities.

I feel sad for the kids. Children who live through the separations and divorces of their parents suffer a lot just getting adjusted even if it all works out in the end…and who knows when “in the end” will come for them.

@ Jeff — dude you know I luv (not in a way that should T trying to locate me) but I have to say this if you are seriously doing this: “EVERY TIME I see Kate open her mouth, I try to point out to T ” Then that is a form of harping that gets on a woman’s last nerve. We are not all (and I am sure T is not) ill mannered, harping shrews! Having it pointed out constantly when we aren’t isn’t building us up.

Well, they announced a separation. Anyone surprised? They are the latest in reality show families to split. The only reality show family still in tact are the Osbornes. Why anyone would want cameras in their face on a daily basis is beyond me. Why anyone would want to watch is beyond me too……I have too much life to live and it aint gonna be in front of a tv set.

Now, can we get back to our regularly scheduled lives?

Somebody remind me about the cruise topic. I’ll try to jump in there. (BTW: Both of the cruises I’ve been on so far have been Carnival, and I’ve had a blast both times. We Libertarians are looking at heading out on the Carnival Liberty Thanksgiving 2010 if any of y’all are interested… I’m taking point on that one and a few of my friends in the ATL area have said they would be interested.)

On JK+8: Like others have said, I hate to see a family break apart. That said, T has watched this show for quite a while, and EVERY TIME I see Kate open her mouth, I try to point out to T how much that harping and nagging grates on a man. Honestly, even without the TV show or even the sextuplets, Jon would have been a SAINT in my book had he stayed married to her for the rest of his life. Throw in the additional stress of 6 extra kids and having pretty much every second of your life spent in front of cameras… yeah, it was a foregone conclusion that this would happen.

Look on the bright side though… at least any man that even THINKS about ‘tagging’ Kate knows exactly the kind of witch he is getting. Honestly, I don’t care HOW hot you are – and she does look pretty good, admittedly – with that kind of attitude, I’m not going anywhere NEAR you.

Several of you thought I was trashing them for choosing to have 8 kids. Read the post again….I said if you bring a child into the world you need to be able to support that child. They admitted to doing the show to secure the finances of the family without really thinking about the consequences. One of the consequences can be the trappings that such exposure brings.

How can some of you people on this blog be so nasty? This is a family in crisis and there are 8 little kids whose lives will be turned upside down if these parents don’t get help in the way of counseling and a support system like family and friends. Sometimes when you’re in the middle of this mess you think separating is the only thing to do. But it’s not .You have to put hurt feelings and anger aside and try to put the pieces back together. We all know that marriage isn’t easy with a lot of small children around, but unless you really try you will have regrets. Don’t give up Jon and Kate and really try for your beautiful children. Cindy, I feel it is our place to discuss if this is what TLC plasters across our TV screen. Don’t forget jon and kate CHOSE this. If jon and kate didn’t want to have the media follow their every move, then they shouldn’t have asked to be on TV. jmho. I think the two have said, “show me the money”. I think personally, they sold their kids (and themselves) out.

I think that people need to realize that many of us could get caught up in the money and fame. The important thing is to look at the lesson this has (or should have) taught us. I am quite content with my simple life with my loved ones. We are all happy and healthy. I don’t need a lot of money. It just makes you greedier.
