Is natural better?

There are some men who say they prefer women who don’t wear a lot of makeup, hair extensions and sexy attire. They claim to want natural looking women without all of the extra. I wonder why some men say this but when they meet an actual natural type, they see her as plain?

Everyone does something to enhance their appearance but when does it become too much? What about the guys who work out a lot or take something for more muscle mass?

When it comes to natural versus enhancements, which do you think you are actually more drawn to?

Ugh…it’s starting to happen again. I post a long paragraph and I get an error message followed by my message not showing. I am so new to this

Short version of what I tried to post

I went natural 2 yrs ago (not my first rodeo)
I hardly wear makeup (except for lipstick) when I used to wear it all the time.
For the past 6 months (maybe even longer) I flat iron my hair because I length the flat iron gives compared to shrinkage my afro gives

So, what are the thoughts of men on women who don’t wear makeup? Keep in mind I’m saying don’t wear, not saying won’t wear.

I had so much more I wanted to say but I really don’t feel like typing it again.

Hello everyone,

Hey heidi, have to watch out for those key words.

While I do like natural beauty, some people need some help (LOL) I’ve never meet a plain woman! And I’m racking my brain trying to think of the last woman I dated that wore a lot of makeup.

Good morning. many men claim to like the “natural” look but many of those same men chase the “glammed” up chicks. Go figure.

of course, we could attempt to determine exactly what “natural” is. is it natural hair, no makeup, no weave/wigs/extensions, no fake nails, no shaving, no deodorant, no chemically processed foods. Just saying. Some folks take natural to all kinds of levels. lol.

Morning Heidi! I know your pain with the posts. In the beginning it’s hard to figure out which words make it get blocked. One big culprit is r I d I c u l o u s…It doesn’t like that word for some reason!

Anyway…I rarely wear make up and I don’t dress sexy. I’m not a girly girl and I know that I’ll be with a man who appreciates that and loves me for me. I’d much rather be real

Pancake Patty? Ummm, not!! In my experience, the guys I’ve dated…to date, prefers more natural than overdone.

Au naturel is the only way to go…for me. I’ve never worn make-up. Lip gloss, and eyeliner waaaay back in the day, but just never had a desire to. When homecoming queen twice, I wore make-up and even then, the lady that did my make-up had enough sensece to know I was a young girl and didn’t need all that junk on my face.

Now, give me refined stuff (apparel, accessories, shoes, etc) any day as far as image, over cheep and cheesy and clown-dom…lololol Plus that stuff on your face day in and day out (no matter if you cleanse well at night), will take it’s toll. Silky always told me I had beautiful skin :)

My kid wears make-up but minimally. She’s beautiful though. Aaaand SHE’S CUT OFF ALL HER AIR AND GOING NATURAL!! OMG Everybody can’t pull that off though…must say, not bad. She’s letting it grow back though. It’s really grown since she first had it all cut off.

Anyhoo, I’m at work early cause I got a meeting with my manager this morning. Reckon she did it so early cause I’ve been getting like 10:00ish?? LOLOL

Time to work…..TOOOOODLES!!!

Single – yep. just thought it might be interesting to see where we wound up. you know there are women that make the argument that if the paid for the hair it is theirs. lol. I suppose they could also make the argument that since it is human hair (even if they didn’t grow it) it’s still natural. lol.

There’s natural, and there’s fugly.

If a woman has the confidence (and more importantly, the looks) to pull it off, natural is great.

If not, it could be a decision that….doesn’t end well.

Let me start with this:

. many men claim to like the “natural” look but many of those same men chase the “glammed” up chicks. Go figure.

Cosign…

On topic: I think we all(most anyway) want to look good…be it for ourselves or others. Now with that being said, things can go awry in either direction…meaning one can take “personal enhancements” to astronomical proportions and others may take such “enhancements” as a insult or personal affront and stear clear of it.

I wear lipstick and mascara(but not often) and that’s it…some women use make up to “give” them beauty…but some use it to “enhance” their natural beauty. I do the latter…

I’ve been going to bed at a decent time, but the mornings are killing me for some reason! It always takes my body a week or two to adjust when the time changes. I sure am enjoying having the sun up longer!

I wear a little makeup, no eye shadow, no mascara and never false eyelashes. A little makeup is ok, but when you start looking like a clown because you’ve pasted so much foundation on, I don’t see how you don’t see that. I was in Ross one day and saw a friend and her daughter. Hadn’t seen her daughter in a minute and when she turned to face me it took everything I could muster to keep that “gasp” under my breath. She looked like she was auditioning for Ringling Bros. I was stunned that her parents, who were both there, let her walk out the house like that.

Anyway, I’m a girly girl and like to dress a little sexy, never slutty.

Good morning!

I get extra make up and hair extentions but schexy attire? that’s a new.

Everyone does something to enhance their appearance but when does it become too much? when you get those extremely large boobs/lips/muscles that makes you look abnormally disfigured.

What about the guys who work out a lot or take something for more muscle mass? I’m not a big fan of big muscle men. I like em well trimmed but not those bulky kind. All stiff – turn off!

When it comes to natural versus enhancements, which do you think you are actually more drawn to? hands down, natural. I love all things in it’s natural state. Although I tweek here and there to my hair, I don’t go over board.

Good morning!

“….no deodorant..”Disco- I agree! Some people do take natural to another level.
Um….deodorant should not be removed from one’s hygiene. Tom’s is not for everybody. If you stink, you might have to go for something stronger.

Mornin

Au naturale …I’m down. I remember I dated a guy who wanted me to put all this makeup on …he was so into how I should look ….maybe because he was in the film industry….glad thats over was a lot of pressure for me….I was a tomboy growing up and about half and half now days I do like to dress up for my dude though but minimal makeup – lip gloss eye shadow maybe eyeliner thats all.

I like guys who don’t dress me… let me be me. A nice back/shoulders gets me on a man (among other things)…most men are natural so I am good. This topic seems more geared to the males…

If it’s within reason I don’t see anything wrong with it…I like ‘em big but not “swole” like the Hulk.
One caveat to that is what I’ve heard termed “The Eagle”….that’s when a guy works out A LOT…on his upper body and has lil chicken legs…therefore looking like an eagle…and looking funny as hell to me. There’s one here like that…big buffed upper body and the farther down you go…the smaller his body gets…

I know a couple of male musicians who do not wear deodorant and then they perform and get all sweaty and gross smelling! I was cuddled up to one of these guys one night at an after party and the next day, my shirt smelled like bad BO. I guess I didn’t notice it at the time because of the alcohol involved! LOL! Ewwwwwwww

I’m interested to know what men prefer for the bikini area…

Some men perfer the make up all dolled up type while some men perfer the natural ones makeup free.

Some women perfer a cleaned shaven face whereas some women perfer a full blown beard & mustache. I like em with a a lil hair on his face.

Button – I think it depends on the guy on whether or not I prefer a clean shaven face. My ex from years ago looked great with a goatee and had no chin if he shaved it. The most recent ex did not look good with facial hair, so I preferred him clean shaven…

Heidi

When my full head is gray, then maybe I might stop dying but it’s not cute on me when the top of my head (in the middle) is gray and everything else is black, dark brown, brown, red, blonde…. er….. my hair has been dyed so many times that it made a nice pattern when I bleached. The darker part of my hair turned red, and the lighter part turned blonde. I have a “natural” ginger mix going on here :-D
