Dilemma: We have a texting problem

I know we have collectively decided as a society that text messaging is a completely acceptable form of communication. Somehow we think is it fine to deliver bad news, be romantic, or even break up with someone in a text message. Yeah, can we go back and vote on this again?

You can’t replace verbal communication because there is nothing like hearing a man’s voice asking to see you and spend time with you. It’s just the best feeling that can spark chemistry instantly! So why are so many people happy to use texting in it’s place?

I know a young lady who is seeing someone new who insists of texting all their important conversations. She protested at first but now she adapted and is missing those actual conversations by phone or better yet face to face.

Would it be unfair to ask the person you are dating to limit the text messages you two exchange?

Do you think texting when you are in the early stages of dating brings you closer or impedes the relationship?

Has texting ever been an issue for you? How did you resolve it?

Leggs – what a sad thing to happen to that girl. All for the sake of vanity. Why would an 18 yr old need breast aug? unless she has kid(s) already she should still be perky. Heck even if she has kids she can still be perky unless she’s a tear drop and didn’t like the look.

Leggs, let me be clear I am not fawning over an 18 year old. I just wanted to know if the boobies turned out nice, did they complete the surgery is she brain dead with a nice rack? I mean chicks can be 18 and work at a strip club right?

Just found the article, she looks totally different before and after the surgery. I don’t think plastic is worth the health risk associated with it.

Leggs – That’s sad that the surgery didn’t go well. I have a niece that at 16 wanted a reduction, but the doctor said to wait a few years after she completed puberty and fully developed. She was very large and played sports and her back was killing her. She’s now 26 and even though still curvy, she kind of grew into her chest. She is very tall and beautiful. She has not ruled out doing it down the line though.

kimmie, this 18 year old is a mother to a little boy and from the pics in the article she seemed very loose. I think she wanted the breast for the wrong reasons.

PR ~ never thought you were fawning. Exactly, she looks drastically different. It is so sad what happened to her.

At 18, those things are still perky. Too bad she didn’t realize that over the years she’ll grow fat and have a nice set.

purple – who you telling? I had a friend who got a reduction. Surgery went well. the problem was that her stomach was huge. You didn’t notice it some much when her boobs were even more huge but with the boobs gone the stomach was just out there. I wonder if doctors warn chicks about that and try to sell tummy tucks. lol.

Funny story, I was in Fl in Radio Shack, I had on t-shirt from couple resort in Negril. the guy asked me what I knew about Jamaica and I told him. then he said he was from Ja, and he looked Mexican. well two Asian guys walked in and started talking to him, I swear if I had my back turned I would have sworn I was in Ja, but I was the only black in the store (LOL) I’m saying that to say we think of a lot of things as being one race because that’s most of what we see. I mean you hardly ever see any black Cubans, but there are a lot of them. Why is this, because they are turned back when found at sea because they think they are Haitian, and don’t find out they are Cuban until they get them on the boat and check their papers, then they have to take them back.

single – I won’t even say folks think it because it’s all they see. I think a lot of folks think it because they don’t care to see. they don’t bother to ask people who they are or where they are from. I used to hang out with a guy who was quick to say “Mexican this or Mexican that”. I forced him to realize that not everyone who looked Mexican to him was. He got in the habit of asking and was shocked when folks would say where they from. me? I’d be sitting there all smug like “I told you so”.

I wasn’t trying to be offensive and she said yea your right (LOL)

Personally, I’m plenty aware of black Cubans. But wouldn’t I likely NOT see them IN AMERICAN cause they live in Cuba? Wouldn’t that be the reason we don’t see many? Or any others from other countries for that matter. Cubans live in Cuba, Mexicans live in Mexico, Bahamians live in the Bahamas, so forth and so on. We see Americans only (mostly) CAUSE WE LIVE IN AMERICA, right? What does any of this have to do with what folks look like….if they “look” Cuban. I don’t look for Cuban looking folks, cause most of them are in Cuba…and Miami, but I don’t live in Miami either. So, I don’t for them. I know where they are, on the map though.

I mean we see foreigners here and there, but that’s a small number to the folks back in their countries.

Maybe I missed something during class….lololol I just laughed hard.

purple – I was at a party hosted by some people from Nicaragua. I swear I looked at some of their family photos and saw people who looked just like some of my relatives. I mean totally uncanny. one of my cousins jokes that people can never quite figure out what she and her kids are. They just have “interesting” skin tones and hair textures that throw folks off. lol.

WHEW! Just had my end of year review and it was really good. My boss usually has one negative thing to say so I made sure to work on that area this and apparently, I succeeded. I also acquired a new boss last year (Assistant General Counsel) and she was generous with her praises of me. Also found out that while I was asked to assist a department while their assistant was on maturity leave they too put input in. Very glowing endorsement. Now, let’s calibrate my new salary!

Button/Du, but most folks don’t think of Cubans as being black. That’s why the CG pick up a lot of them and return them to Cuba, but will watch the lighter ones until they make it to the U.S.
