Dilemma: We have a texting problem

I know we have collectively decided as a society that text messaging is a completely acceptable form of communication. Somehow we think is it fine to deliver bad news, be romantic, or even break up with someone in a text message. Yeah, can we go back and vote on this again?

You can’t replace verbal communication because there is nothing like hearing a man’s voice asking to see you and spend time with you. It’s just the best feeling that can spark chemistry instantly! So why are so many people happy to use texting in it’s place?

I know a young lady who is seeing someone new who insists of texting all their important conversations. She protested at first but now she adapted and is missing those actual conversations by phone or better yet face to face.

Would it be unfair to ask the person you are dating to limit the text messages you two exchange?

Do you think texting when you are in the early stages of dating brings you closer or impedes the relationship?

Has texting ever been an issue for you? How did you resolve it?

robert – if you think that a woman who is found rifling through your personal information simply needs a hug then you got bigger issues. chick be selling your identity on craigslist while you sitting there rubbing her feet to make her feel better. lol.

I don’t even know where my cell phone is majority of times. No passwords, minimal text messages. I figure if you can text me you can call me. I will play playstation every now and then. I hope I get to keep my man card.

Kimmie it’s not even the credit card, I said I never would either, but there are times I’ve needed to look at my bank information, make a transfer, pay a bill before it’s late, the little things we don’t think about and do off impulse. all that information is stored for the right person. That’s why Blackberrys are still the safest phones on the market, and why they don’t allow access to everyones apps.

“Men must understand that we are “healers” and most women bring baggage into the relationship”

This is the best thing that a man can do for his woman. How can a man become a “healer”?

1. Be the “Head of the Household” (get married, pay the bills)
2. Give your woman her “Power” back (trust, respect, love)
3. Don’t let technology rule your life (phone, pc, etc.)
4. Treat her like she is your “Best Friend”. (laugh, talk, play)
5. Turn off the TV, phone, pc and tablet. (Spend quality time)

1. being head of household is all good but REALLY be the head. Be the man OF the house and not just a man IN the house. even with that, single men can heal too.

2. give woman her power back? That’s assuming she had it / lost it to begin with.

3 / 5 if technology rules your life you have addiction issues. get help.

4. this one is iffy. it can be semantics. Still, I could see me at a push come to shove moment reminding dude that he is my husband NOT my friend. We have roles for a reason. my hubs has a role and my friends have another role. Dude needs to stay in his lane.

Kimmie, that’s how a lot of people end up getting their identity stolen, they don’t think about those little things. I know people who refuse to put their credit card info online, but have no problem going to any restaurant and handing over the debit card to a stranger who disappears with it. I will only use a certain credit card when I’m not paying cash.

@disco – “2. give woman her power back? That’s assuming she had it / lost it to begin with”

Most women are far more advanced than men are regarding relationships. Since woman are more mature and experienced than men they will make mistakes along their journey such as fall in love at an early age, kids, etc. All her emotions are turned-on (love, pain, hurt, etc.) and she will need a man who can help her to feel “loved” and regain her “Power”.

Men “lust” (20’s-30’s). Most men do not fall in love for the 1st time until they are in their late 30’s or early 40’s.

disco- you want your husband to be your husband and not your friend? You want a man’s man, a strong man, a man that will pick you up and put you on the wall, the jealous type,Eat the cake Anna Mae, EAT the CAKE! Just kidding..maybe. Can I have my man card back?

Disco – I don’t know about other boys, but my son(13) has had many wallets and does not know what to do with them. He’ll put money in it for 5 minutes and the next thing I know the wallet is on the floor empty. Same goes for my daughter. She now uses her ipod case as a wallet – tucks money between the ipod and the case.

disco- my first wallet was a plastic one at a very young age, I think it hand the Incredible Hulk or Captain America in it. I didn’t have anything in there at all except for some pennies or change I found. Once I hit 5th grade I got a real velcro wallet (trifold), had a few bucks and a picture of my parents. High school still had a velcro wallet but this time i had pictures of girls in the little plastic holders, had a condom that never got any usage. That condom stayed in there longer than the pictures.lol That lifestyle condom left a circle print in my wallet. It was cool to show off that you had a rubber in your wallet. LOL now don’t ask the circus that was the first time I tried putting a condom on. :)
