Dating: Do you need excitement?

I used to be ridiculed for having a strong attraction to nerds. I remember one friend telling me that I would probably end up with a boring, predictable man one day. I mean, she said this like it was a bad thing! What is sexier then a reliable, responsible man who I can depend on? That is HOT.

I think some some women are drawn into dating men who bring so much drama and anxiety because they think is some kind of passion. I know one young lady who thinks that arguing and uncertainty is the true sign of an exciting relationship.

My friend Jack was seeing someone who really thrived off conflict. She he told me that he was manufacturing conflict to keep her interested I asked him if he planned to do this forever. The minute he stopped, she probably would move on to the next.

I like excitement in many things, and I even like to be excited by man, I the right way. Do I need excitement in the form of drama and heartache? Not so much.

Do you need excitement in your relationship? Do you believe that someone who is stable and safe is incapable of being passionate?

I like excitment but the good kind. I’ve never considered someone safe and stable as dull and boring or without passion.

Good morning!

I definitely want excitement, it’s a rush. What I don’t want is drama. There are not one and the same, although some think they’re interchangeable.

You guys know I don’t usually watch football, but I watched the entire debacle last night. Game was over when Manning missed the ball few seconds into the game. Mentally, he seemed to have never recovered. SeaHawks reigned supreme through each quarter.

Good morning.

Morning All!!

Exiled – Naw, they had the Falcons beat. I was telling one of my friends during the game that I was glad the Falcons didn’t get beat so bad when they went to the Super Bowl!

Having said that, I was going for Seattle so YAY for them! Outstanding, beat Denver like they stole something!!LOL!! Everyone, including the Broncos themselves, thought they had it in the bag, almost a sense of entitlement. That decisive win by the Seahawks was beautiful. I mean came out the gate with a safety! Let everybody know what time it was from jump!

On topic – Different strokes. I’ve never been drawn to drama, but others are. The problems come in when they are mismatched. All the drama-seekers please seek each other out. They deserve each other, knock themselves out, literally!

If this ain’t about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard…..feigned arguments to keep the excitement going. Shoot, jump on a roller coaster if you need excitement. And from a dude at that? I’m askin again…..how old are Diva’s friends? What adult does this? What man (any age) does this?

kimmie

Slim – What kept it being a snoozefest for me were the actual plays. I mean, first play of the game you score a safety?? One of the best QB’s in the league gets intercepted over and over? You come back after halftime and immediately run in a touchdown?

When my team is winning, I don’t need “excitement”!!LOL!!

Slim/kimmie, that’s the way most fans are, especially when you were the underdog, they want to see the other team get dominated. When you’re not really a fan of either team, then you want a close game to keep you interested.

Ok, so when we say we like a little excitement in our relationships, what sorts of things would you put under the ‘excitement’ umbrella??

I would say spontaneity….the art of surprise….wanting to do things many others would be like, oh heyal naw to…traveling, trying new things, foods etc

slim – some folks love surprises. I am not fond of them. I like/need to know what’s going on. a surprise might have the potential to go bad. lol. I’m all for travel and food though. bedroom excitement has to make the list. I don’t know if any of y’all have experienced that person that has the exact same moves all the time but that there is a big turnoff.

disco – Some folks are very set on routine lolol And 1 and 2 and….in and out and 2 pumps to the left, one swirl to the right…lol But as far as bad surprises, I would suggest the person knowing you well enough to know what you wouldn’t like as a surprise. Have you ever had a surprise go bad?

Excitement is a must in the bedroom. A pump here and thrust there will not cut it. Don’t need to break the bed like in Breaking Dawn, but a few shimy and shakes from that occurrence would be nice (lol).

It’s exciting to try new foods (to a certain degree), new jazz spots, parts of the city, bike rides, art shows, etc. Movies are ok, nothing more, nothing less.

disco ~ that’s strange because pretty sure she knows how you feel about crying, especially, if the cause for the tears are…nevamind, there usually isn’t any cause for tears (unless your child died). Can’t say you hurt her feelings, but she set herself up already knowing. Why walk into the bee’s nest and not expect to get stung?

I like fun excitement, daring excitement. I do not like “drama” excitement. That kind of thing is for the birds. Being unpredictiable is fun at times as long as it does not go overboard. Some people show affection by making up “drama/excitement”, it’s just their love language. Personality wise fun people are fun people, your personal filter should be able to pick up on the type of excitement that they are into. I prefer the keep it interesting and not boring excitement, when it comes to the bedroom. You should know the type of person you are with before things get to far gone.

Hello, glad you all made it through your ice storm :)
