Solely dating for looks?

This is not breaking news but there are singles who still date people based solely on their looks. It is something that we all do at one point because we are some shallow jerks when we want to be. Admittedly, the physical attraction to your date is very important but we all know it isn’t enough to sustain a real relationship.

When you focus on the looks you tend to overlook the awful personality, the big red flags, or glaringly obvious incompatibility. So why do we still get so distracted by the shallow stuff? How important are looks to you?

I know a lot of women who say they meet a guy and he doesn’t appear all that attractive in the beginning but over time their attraction to him grows. Does that happen for men as well? Do you think dating based on looks is something we should evolve from at some point?

Durty- “The married wives that are left on the base get down with the other soldiers all the time.”
Wrong! Of course there are some. I went to school, worked and took care of my kids while my ex was deployed. While he was there, I took care of my family.

As a man I have more respect for a man who skeets but keeps his family than the one who leaves wife and kids to marry the h o! @MsAtl.I’m sure we agree?
Exiled- I don’t have respect for either one of them. I have respect for the man that realizes he wants to cheat and goes to his wife to talk or ends his marriage. I gave my ex an out to part as friends, but he wanted to remain in the marriage AND cheat. I’m not down with that.

2C ~ so are you saying you would have let her stay home and skip the two tests? I’m not trying to be funny, but his daughter wanted to stay home and she was crying and whining. Would you have given in?

O/T: I wore a beautiful silver cross necklace to work today. A friend saw me in the hallway and immediately asked if she could borrow it to wear to church on Sunday. I asked if she had a necklace I could put on if I should say yes. She didn’t have one. At lunch time, I went to her desk and loaned my necklace to her. Now, I’m sitting here feeling naked. To top matters off, I just bought the necklace yesterday. She’ll wear it well and I’m confident I’ll get it back in one piece.

I told her “don’t forget about your secret weapon…….prayer. Say a quick prayer before you take the test and another one before you go on stage for the spelling bee. Do thy duty that is best, leave unto the lord the rest.

Quit tryna win me over and make me like you

MsAtl – I’ve gone back downstairs (cause I went online to complain and didn’t see our location) to make sure the company I thought managed, was still managing. And boy oh boy….I done make another batch of enemies. They were saying “yeen have to broadcast it” and “it was just one bug.” I’m so over the fact that they tried to minimize this whole thing  Stick a fork in me!!!

Only for Ms. Linda (or whatever her name), that’s been with that company 21 years, plea in asking me to know escalate but allow the manager to work on it, am I’m gonna not file the complaint I was gonna file. She said if I do so, the new manager (that none of us like) will get fired. They (cafe workers) all love her. She’s brash and brazen and done gave me a few inches to feel froggy and get smart with folks when they’re in the cafe. Not me, but from what I’ve heard a few folks saying. Now, I ain’t feeling how she done jacked up the prices, but Imma hold off….cause I don’t like to see people lose their jobs. Apparently everybody knows about the bug

Leggs – I was about to let her stay…….I hate to see her upset, but I realized that it was an opportunity to teach a life lesson. Now, her her knuckle head little brother (DuShawn II) was laughing the whole time, while saying “Daddy, I don’t even know what she’s crying about……it’s nothing but a test! I’m like Dude…..that’s not helping. By the way, don’t you have a test today too?” He got real quiet after that, hoping I wouldn’t quiz him next.

Celisea – What you doin tonight…..I heard they have a revival at The Blue Flame. Care to join me? BTW – did I read earlier that you were a chcoclate sister?

Let me fix this…I meant “would” have “wanted” her to stay home, but wouldn’t have let her stay because that’s running/hiding from a problem that needs to be fixed not swept under the rug for a day or two.
