Dating: You won’t always connect

I think some people take it for granted that every time they go on a date, the person is going to connect with them and like them. Sometimes things just don’t spark and it is not anyone’s fault because “it is what it is” when it comes to attraction.

Of course, many of us have huge egos and the fact that someone doesn’t like us seems to just bug us so much. Why is that? Why do we believe that every time someone asks us out, it automatically means there is a love connection? I know some women feel as if they don’t even have to put much effort in because they were “asked” out or pursued first. Then they act shocked when they don’t get asked out for a second date.

When someone asks you out or you go on a date, do you expect them to like you so much that their initial attraction to you will automatically start sparking into something deeper?

How do you think we handle rejection in the form of no second dates or “sorry, not interested” responses start happening?

What did you do when someone you were dating decided not to call back?

@SlimNu..yea it’s true because for most folks, when they work here and save a little, even under $100,000, u can start a self sustaining bizz.

The other reason is most folks, after going back, they don’t wanna work for nobody and at the same time, they want to upgrade their life and still make a decent living.

Its harder there to get the start money but it is easier to start with little.

..feel me?

Afternoon all,
Topic (if y’all are still on it)- always connect is next to impossible. I’ve experienced most women seem to put there best foot forward. I have ran into a few hohums that acted like the sun came up on there command. I also know a lot dudes choose the shotgun approach and just shoot, connection be dayum end cause they were playing the #’s game.
What else you good folks got going on ?

MsAtl – It wasn’t quite $30 but it was close…smh

Ex – Yeah, many of the dealers I deal with go back and forth home. Plus with them having a base on the home front, it makes it easier to export/import units back and forth.

2C…prince?

matter of fact,u ain’t far of the mark.

My family has the sub chief role.

My family has dominion over a certain area in my village..so the villagers who live in our village go to ny uncle if they need a new piece of land or if there is a disagreement etc.

Now that’s in the country…every African has a village origin. We got homes in the country but..

We got city homes too.

@Slim..true

When folks have green cards, they wld rather do that because they can travel back and forth.

America is definately good for making a little coin but for most Africans or adult immigrants,it is stressful because it takes us away from families and expensive and harder to deal with the lifestyle.

Ex….because my grandfather’s father, was born a slave; My grandfather was born in 1913, he was the youngest of 14, and told me, thru him, what our original name was was…told me how they originally came from SC to FL, and sure enough, there was a plantation owner with my same last name; so I researched all the early records, and graves of those slaves that resided on his plantation, and found that name in which my grandfather had told me….my family took the surname of the slave owner…

2C…that’s great!!!

Man u done some work.

If that name Puse is ur grand grand’s original family name in Africa,I bet u it is much easier to find out where ur African name is from.

As an African who studied African history and migration in high school,Puse seems like an east African to southern African name. Most names in these countries;Kenya,Uganda,Tanzania,Zambia,Zimbabwe, Malawi end with a vowel.

That sounds like an easy break to trace ur origin. And ur grandfather was as old as mine so that can’t too be hard.

Good luck!

You know, even when joking around, some of these sexual posts are just plain tastesless and disrespectful, but because you guys are playing around you don’t see it. Certain things just shouldn’t be said. As you see, you don’t see any of the single ladies making sexual overtones to you married guys, why, because it’s not right!
