Dating: Do they excite you?

The best part of a new romance is getting all those butterflies in the stomach sensations.   That period of time when a text message or phone call from them can send your heart racing.  When you don’t know too much about someone but you know enough about them that makes you excited to see them again.  Do you know what I’m talking about?

I wish that kind of feeling lasts forever. Alas, it fades away eventually but it is replaced with a deeper connection.  I think that you always want to be excited when you see that special person.  It is that attraction and chemistry that so many of us get hooked by.

What do you do if they don’t excite you, though?  Some people prefer to have a comfortable, practical relationship that doesn’t really get your heart racing.  Is that a smart way to date? Is it safer?

If you are dating someone now, do they excite you?  Do you think they feel the same way about you?

Blessed that M still excites me….most of the time. (lol)

And I appreciate the deeper connection and the comfortable, practical part of our relationship as well.

They excite you because it is a wonderful feeling to feel wanted by someone you really like.

Have a great day.

Fireworks and racing pulses or comfortable and practical? This reminds me of the analogy with the tortoise and the hare (slow and steady wins the race?). It doesn’t necessarily have to be an either/or thing, you could maybe have both.

The deal with comfortable and practical is sometimes it can get stale and predictable but it’s up to the involved parties’ creativity to keep it interesting. Also, it sometimes can be underestimated and underappreciated until it’s lost and unrecoverable.

If you are dating someone now, do they excite you? Yes, Although my relationship is not new, the excitment is still there. We greet each other everyday with a hug and a kiss it sets the tone for peace.

Do you think they feel the same way about you? I just called him and asked him this question, and he does.
I also love the deeper connection/bond we have.

I love it when I think about him and next thing I know I get a text from him with sweet words…so sweet!

Good morning!

Dating is meant to be enjoyed, throw caution to the wind and enjoy the time spent. Even though you may not make a luv connection, make the best of the situation and enjoy the moment…

g’morning….

sat out yesterday while y’all blogged away ’bout nonsensical marriage contracts, and what not….

but ummm, yeah, dating should be exciting, if not, seems to me like you’re wasting time….even if your goal is to smash, still should be exciting….ain’t the saying some’n like, “it ain’t the destination, but the journey;” the journey of dating should give you the warm fuzzies….

And speaking of the tortoise and the hare….just like that…the love gush is interrupted.

Bad run this morning. We did three miles. I run three to four times a week. This was M’s first run since the Peachtree. Needless to say, his conditioning is off a bit. I got frustrated at not being able to run at my normal pace.

But…I am going to be grateful that I have a spouse that is willing to run with me, even though it’s not the most exciting for him. And I will work on being patient during our runs together and take the lesson that it’s not always about the time, it’s about the fact that we actually finish.

SC – that’s funny. I try to run every other day or every third day if I get caught up. dude said to me last night that maybe he’ll come watch me run today. I don’t know if that was supposed to sound supportive or what but I was just like really? watch me run? how about you get some business? lol.

atl – now I’m hearing marsha ambrosia’s butterfly remake in my head.

Mrs. SC – It’s funny you mentioned you and hubs running together. On my way to work I saw a couple running together and it made me smile to myself. At the same time, it would be nice to have a partner to do those sorts of things together. Mr Agent man worked out at least 3 times a week but he took advantage of their gym at work. So we never worked out together…

I don’t think the feeling has to subside. It should be a heartwarming vibe you get when you see your SO’s name come across the phone or you hear his or her voice. To feel anything other than that has to be uncomfortable wondering where is this relationship going or do I even want to be here. When you are unnerved seeing his/her name or the sound of his/her voice, there are deeper problems.

Good morning!

random (but interesting – lol) – so dinner last night was regular but there was a donut sundae on the menu. can’t speak for y’all but I’d never seen/had a donut sundae so I had to order one. it was fresh fried donut holes with fruit, ice cream and whipped cream. it was good. very comparable to the churros I usually get at Mexican restaurants.

GOOD Tuesday Morning MIA!!! :-)

I’m not currently dating anyone, probably because I haven’t come across a guy that excites me yet, LOL!!!

-Mrs. SexyCool I do like to see couples running, walking, jogging together. There’s an older couple in my neighborhood that walks together in the evenings and everytime I see them, they’re holding hands & smiling.

SlimNu- good question —- I’ve been on both fronts. I don’t think two ppl like/love each other equally or fall inlove at the same time. I think that’s a given in any relationship, one will be more into it than the other. butttt one should never be or feel taken for granted.

I have been on both sides! Where I was mentally was the key factor when I was not into them as much as they were into me…

Have ya’ll ever been in a relationship or dated a person that was WAAAAAY more into you than you were them? Yes, he became irksome to me. He was much older and a fuddy duddy as he became more comfortable with me. Never understood why men do things with women they have no intention of continuing to do. Disregard that because I do know why.

If you looked at all your past r’ships in general, were you the one that was less into the person or more into them than they were you? I had one where I was more into him than he was into me and I suffered a little as a result of it. You live and you learn.
