Best cuisine for dates?

I found out that a guy purposely selected a rib joint for our first date to test my girly quotient.  That’s right, if I couldn’t handle getting my fingers dirty on a date, then I wasn’t his kind of girl (I had to fight the urge to insert a dirty joke here!).  In fact, I suspect that a lot of guys want to see how women handle awkward situations when it comes to food.

Seriously, guys? What is that about?  Picking a restaurant that has messy foods make it hard for women to be all sexy.  Unless watching a woman rip meat off a buffalo wing gets you going, why would you pick a wing place for a romantic date? Am I missing something?

What are the best foods, cuisines and restaurants that would be ideal for a romantic date?  Is there some place or some food that can be messy and sexy at the same time?

Have you ever picked a really bad place to eat for a date?  Do men really pay attention to how a woman eats her food on a date? Ladies, do you judge a guy by the restaurant he picks for the two of you to dine?

Happy Friday!

I have watched many GED’s turn into MBA’s.
Du Yeah I’ve run across a few too. Question is whether or not I think that’s feasible or a longshot for the person I’m considering. Of course, if I have to choose between someone with potential and someone who’s already there, then most times I’m rolling with the latter.

Another thing that I have learned is to be far more concerned about intelligence, integrity, common sense, money management skills, ambition and an understanding of the principles of success (among the top traits) are far more important than whether a person is degreed or not.

Disco – I take what Single says as now he’s ready to enjoy the fruits of his labor – at least that’s what I agree with. Not have to try to climb that corporate ladder and deal with the rat race. As for me, I got a few degrees & years of job experience – now it’s time to see some return on that investment – money in the bank & free time – to travel!

kimmie – yeah. that’s why I said I get it but I’m going through it right now where folks are just so complacent. not even with work but personal enrichment type stuff. don’t want to travel, don’t want to exercise, don’t want to take a class in anything. just chilling, day in and day out and the excuse is because I did such and such back when but back when was 20/30/40 years ago.

kimmie/disco Unless you’re Bill Gates status, I’m not buying that you’ve “done it all.” And there’s even sh!t they haven’t done. I’d rather you just say, “I’ve done what I wanted to do in life (however limited that is to you), and I don’t plan on doing anything new.”

I know one chick who hasn’t left this city in more than 10 years. I’m like why – you have a car and a job. gas up and go. she has 1200 reasons why she can’t go anywhere but is always wishing she could go somewhere. I don’t get it.

A lady I work with moved here from DC area over 15 years ago. She goes almost nowhere between here and home with her man. She’s always talking about how when she moved here she wore a size 12, now she’s literally double that size. She’s come along with us on a few outings, but otherwise knows nothing of what’s going on or what the city has to offer. She’s always talking about “what they have in DC that they don’t have down here” only to have me tell her yes there is one right down the street! There is a mall 2 miles down from the job and she’ll ask me where I got something and I tell her at the mall and have to explain to her where in the mall to go!

Just wilted some kale for the first time ever. I had it with brown rice and sautéed chicken breast. Not bad, however, I prefer spinach.

Miss me with that retirement talk. I got three college tuitions coming back to back, due in six years. I’m grinding like a mug trying to buy up real estate that I hope will gain equity as well as invest in several different business ventures. Shid, I just got in the hair business and its selling like dope. I got that Yaki and Brazilian virgin for the low low. I’m trying get it each and every way.

SCool – We had kale last week. I absolutely love it, spinach too. I cooked the kale like collard greens this time, in some chicken stock along with other seasonings. Sometimes I mix them with cabbage. Cheesecake Factory has this fresh kale salad I love that’s mixed with dried cranberries and toasted almonds.

Back home after being stood up by hairdresser. I get there and her work station is pristine. I call and get vm. She calls back saying an emergency came up and apologizes for not calling sooner. Hell, why couldn’t you call me while you’re cleaning up your workstation? Now, she wants me to sit at a salon on a Saturday afternoon. My hair is falling out and she needs to see what she did wrong 3 weeks ago before I go to someone else. UUGGH!!! Probably have to cut it all off and look like a boy w/my peanut head.

The biggest reason I don’t run with the group is that I have great sidewalks and a park with a running trail in my neighborhood. It’s really hard for me to get up early and drive to meet folks to run when I can just walk out of my front door and start from there.

My gf has been giving me perms forever! I go to hairdresser for cut and style. I decided to get it professionally permed for the first time in decades. Trying to save time and do it all during one stop. I’m going to start from scratch. Cut my hair off and wait for it to grow back out. It’s the only solution and I’m sick over it. My hair is already short so now it will be cropped to my damn scalp.
