Love for the city

My friends at Yelp Atlanta invited me to one of their super fun Forever Yelp Loves Atlanta events this week.  All month long , Yelp Atlanta has been showing the city some love.  I got to check out the Waffle House museum and got some pretty interesting history about the company! Sidebar: Did you know the T-Bone steak was not on the menu originally?  Apparently, Filet Mignon was the first steak but when they ran out one day, they substituted T-Bone – and it was a hit! Also, Chick-Fil-A once sold breakfast items at Waffle House stores.  Can you imagine?

Yelp Atlanta’s  Forever Yelp Loves Atlanta really reminded me about the love I once had for this city.  When I first moved here I was smitten.  Now seeing all the cool things and places Atlanta has to offer, I am glad to say the love for the city has been renewed!

Aside from our crazy, sexy, cool dating scene, what do you love about Atlanta?  What is your favorite place to meet single people?  If you had the entire day to hang out in the city, how would you spend it?

Happy Friday! Thank you for following the Misadventures in Atlanta blog, I really appreciate the MIA Blog community!

jmo… Rachel Jeantel is/did a great job! for knowing three diff languages and English not being the first, I applaud her for her courage and bravery. and I thank my God that she was on the phone with Tray.

I just want to say to keep on judging her, and comparing her to Precious… because one day you’ll be judged

-Leggs I agree with Beautiful in that she did the best she knew how to do. It is not mandatory for cursive to be taught in the school systems anymore. So it is likely that she never learned to write it and therefore has difficulty reading it. Here in NC it is left to the teacher’s discretion as to whether or not they want to teach cursive handwriting.

Leggs ~ when she was asked to read something her first day on the stand, I thought, hmmmmm can she read. Then yesterday she said she can’t read cursive, really. I was walking at the park yesterday evening and I heard another lady say to another, “oh my child can’t read cursive” I began to think and yes she being only 19 and cursive isn’t taught any more, it’s possible.

Come to think of it, if you didn’t know cursive, these are some letters you could have a problem with: b, f, J, q, r, s, Z

I suppose so, since I was taught cursive it’s hard for me to grasp, but your argument makes sense (somewhat).

I think Zimmermurder is gon walk!

There is nothing that the witnesses are saying that is going to put this man under the bus.
I doubt the prosecution is going to prove their case.

The only thing that they could pursue is the fact that Zimmermurder ‘followed’ Trevon.

If I were them I could try and pursue and ‘prove’ that fact.

I doubt this court will convict him.

But he(Zimmerman) may need witness ummmm, cough, after that

Strangely, my writing consists of both cursive and print. lol Maybe it’s my dual zodiac personality

Soon cursive and print won’t even matter, becuase texting is dumbing down the art of know how to spell, let alone write a complete sentence.

I do realize that’s far fetched, but it sometimes feel that way.

-Leggs Let’s not forget that we are in the age of computers run just about everything. So as long as a person can use a keyboard, actual writing may just become obsolete.

Leggs – You are right on that point. I really can’t stand when folks text or spell in that text-style writing. I can deal with an “U” to mean You but all that other craziness when they substitute z’s for s’s.

Leggs..but language is used for communication

So why use long hand(long and inefficient) if people can understand each other using shorter words that are quicker to transmit?

….if the end result is understood on Both sides(transmitter and receiver)

….I’m imagining Leggs clinging to her typewriter while her Daughter is trying to trash it!

I posted on the FB page of the guy who died from his injuries saving the little girl. Very, Very sad ending. This guy was a True Hero. So glad Tyler Perry made a donation to his fund. This story should have received more national headline.
