Dumbest dating mistakes

We have all done it.  It is embarrassing to admit it but we have all made a fool of ourselves to impress someone.  I firmly believe that going through these experiences can build character! At least, this is what my Father always says about painful growing lessons.

I can remember the time when I really wanted to impress a personal trainer.  I went out of my way to go to the gym where he was meeting clients.  I show up all decked out in brand new work out gear.  I start to “work up a sweat” and I trip over a set of weights and fall.  I fell hard and loud.  It was not pretty.  I got his attention, alright!

Have you done anything crazy or embarrassing to impress someone?  Do you remember the craziest thing you did for love?

What is the wildest thing someone has done to get your attention?

Why are so willing to make dumb mistakes in dating?  Are we all insane?

Have you done anything crazy or embarrassing to impress someone? I never try to impress anyone, take me as I am or don’t take me at all.

GOOD Tuesday Morning MIA!!! *Hope everyone had a GREAT weekend!* :-)

Have you done anything crazy or embarrassing to impress someone? Not since high school, LOL!!! I don’t like embarrassing myself for anyone and with maturity comes the sense to not do the crazy stuff or at least it should.

The wildest thing someone did to get my attention was from my stalker: He left a book about relationships under my windshield wiper, complete with highlighted passages. I wasn’t interested before the stunt and I still wasn’t interested after.

Poor little Lee Buck up, camper! You sound so depressed. C’mon, you can’t have days off and weekends all the time. Gotta work some of the time :) :)

Honestly, I really can’t recall doing something hideous or embarrassing to impress a date. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve made mistakes along the way, but I can’t recall doing this one. I have always subscribed to “be yourself”, either they’re going to like you….or not!

That’s all I got on topic…lol BBL once I get to work, gotta get dressed :) :)

Well, On my flight out, I met two wonderful women.. a mother and daughter……. The mom is 53 and the daughter just turned 21. Late last year the daughter was diagnosed with an a terminal brain tumor and the two of them were working their way thru a pretty impressive bucket list……

We talked and really got to be rather cool on the flight out and as it were, they were staying at the Intercontinental as well… Now, I had all these plans on things I wanted to do , but the more time I spent talking with, them the “smaller” my list felt.

I ended up spending nearly my whole trip sight seeing, kicking it in the mud baths and hot springs, walking around Mount Batiluma with them…. The daughter literally has months left to live and there was no sadness, no anger or pity….. They were at a place where the beauty of nature and the sanctity of life were all that mattered. Watching and interacting with them just help me to assign a much better perspective to my own life….

MissMoni, I assure you, I got much more out of this than they did… I was just the guy that happened to be in the same place at the same time as they, They were the the people that had figured out the meaning of life….

Morning Gang!!

Court – Sounds like an amazing trip. Funny how sometimes we think we have it all figured out, and suddenly we find ourselves in a situation where someone or something shows us a different perspective. That’s the glory of God, I believe. I wish them, and you, the absolute best.

On topic – Can’t recall anything outrageous off the top of my head, but let me think about it. I’m sure I’ve stumbled some like any human!

Yeah, I could have gone with one more day!!

MissMoni – Yeah I know… I’ve hardly slept the last two nights. Wiggety Wack! Oh and my coworkers were laughing at me this morning. On my wall I have a huge calender and the day of my birthday (the 1st) I put in big letters, Mid-life crisis day instead of writing My Bday. lol

My next-door neighbors, the musical family, had a vow renewal that I attended. It was their 20 year and come to find out, they do it every 5 years. This one was extra special. The bride wore her original dress and it was stunning on her, almost better than the first time she wore it. Her husband played his sax as their 8yr old daughter walked in and then the bride. Then the bride sang I Believe in You that Whitney Houston sang in Preachers Wife. She tore it up and had us all in tears. The pastor talked about their relationship over the years and the struggles they have overcome and the blessings, like their daughter that they had a bit of challenge conceiving. Then the mom and daughter sang and daddy played sax. It was just beautiful and touching. I was happy to be witnessing such a positive relationship and family for a change!

I have done some dumb stuff like waiting to see my crush’s car pull up in the parking lot at work and running to the elevator acting like I just happened to be at the elevator, so that I could “bump” into him. Silly silly me. He wasn’t worth any of my precious time

Court – Isn’t there a saying about God having a sense of humor…just tell him what YOUR plans were and watch Him work Lolol

I went to AL to visit with my sister and 4yr old niece…boy oh boy is she something else. She’s turning into this prissy prissy little girl and I have no idea where she gets it from. She changed her outfits for me several times and never forgot to carry her purse. But that cutesy mess went out the window when she farted in my lap.

Morning
As far as the topic, I’ll throw out one from grad school. I was staying in grad school housing and had invited this girl over for the first time to eat and watch movies. So, I’m fixing our plates, and she asks me if I have any coasters to put drinks on. I tell her to check the top drawer of the stand that the tv is on. As I hear her open the drawer, I remember I have some condoms in there too. I turn around and she’s holding a handful saying, “yeah the coasters are the only thing in this drawer getting used tonight.” I just said, “my bad. I forgot those were in there.” She smirks, throws one at me, and we both laugh.

Glam, I never really had a “bucket List” per se, but What it did due was force me to put things in my life in better perspective….. I am now not so hell bent on buying that new Jag, and the things that I left kinda whining about, Now really seem small and petty…Kinda like the old saying of complaining about not having shoes til you met a man that has no feet…..

Morning All!

Court- Welcome back! Glad you had a good time. Sometimes we forget how much we really have and/or how fortunate we are. Nothing like experiencing something like that to help you put things back in perspective.
My ex’s cousin passed away suddenly last Monday. We have been friends for @ 37 years (before I met him) so we still had that friendship despite the divorce. Her funeral was on her daughter’s birthday and she leaves behind five children. It was unexpected but I took solace in the fact that I had spoken with her the week before and after a good conversation, we said our usuals “I love yous” instead of good bye.

Kimmie- That sounds absolutely beautiful.

On topic- I’ve made dating mistakes, but I don’t go out of my way to try to impress a date. I also don’t do crazy or embarrassing things to impress a date.

Well, let me fix that; I have done things that my mom deemed crazy- the ziplining, rock climbing, Nascar, etc., but they weren’t things I did to impress a date. They were things that were on my “bucket” list.
