When do you bring up marriage?

One of our readers wanted to get advice about when she should bring up the marriage topic.  She has been dating her boyfriend for less than a year and feels pretty confident about things.  This is why she is anxious to start talking about a future.  She just doesn’t want to bring the one to bring it up!

Do you believe that a woman who talks about marriage too soon is a turn off to men?  What if he is already thinking of her as his future spouse?

In my experiences, marriage usually makes its way into conversations rather organically.  I don’t remember being the one to bring it up.  Admittedly, there was a period that I was no interested in marriage at all, so I sort of avoided that when I could.

If you are really excited about a possible future with someone, can bringing marriage into the forefront actually delay or derail a relationship?

Should you drop hints or subtle comments about marriage to get the discussion going?

Molly Mcbutter sounds like a name for someone that had excessive plague on their teeth. We had a chick at school that folks called that. She had some yellow teeth in the front of her mouth.
One dude had excessive wax in his ear and they called him Sugar Daddy lol

Hi Court! I see you picked another great song selection. I was listening to some Angie Stone over the weekend (the hair & makeup artist had it blasting from his iPad) and it just confirmed how much I LOVE her music!!!

@disco: I’m glad you enjoyed it. Their produce prices cannot be beat. Thus the reason I’m going back tomorrow for eggplant and other stuff. I think I’m going to make an eggplant parmesan. YUM!

disco – Thanks. The Christmas Day ceremony was one of my sister’s idea, way back in ‘92. I didn’t have much say in it. Just kinda showed up and said “I do”. Was worried, though, about whether I would be able to take care of her….gas in the car, refrigerator full, shoes on her feet, roof over head…..Stuff like that. Rough in the biginning. Worked out though. Happy. She knows that if she asks me a question, to expect the truth. Period.

Aldi- goers – So if the actual carts/buggy’s are a quarter to use, how much is it for the hand carts? 10 cents?

Aldi is great, if I say so myself. Wife talked about it so much, that I had to go to see what the fuss was all about and to shut her up. Was not disappointed. Go to their website and sign up for the weekly and daily specials. You get the sale papers online before the stores do.

I was just thinking about today’s topic, the best time to bring up marriage is after you’ve hit that a few times. That’s when you say, I got something to tell you………….I’m married.

See, fellas. One advantage to being married, is you find out about Aldi, before some women do. Heheheh…My wife hit the jackpot with this one. Speaking of jackpots, if that LOTTO or MEGA MIllions is still up Saturday, gonna cross the state line into Georgia and by some tickets. Here in Alabama, we ain’t got SHEET! Got to leave the state to experience anything worth a damn. Too many dimwits in the state capital runnin thangs.

disco ~ Very Special is one of my all time favorite duets. Although they are brother and sister, the silkiness of their voices and the delivery of the lyrics makes me think they’re lovers (lol). Love the song.

Hand carts just recently came to the Aldi where I shop. I think they’re free. It’s good to give someone your cart and not ask for the qtr back (lol). Aldi’s fruit is always good. Except for their mangos. Hadn’t bought a succulent one yet.

Yaaaay, one of my bff is coming to Atlanta in May!!! We went from talking about coworkers that drive you crazy (and laughing out loud), to vacations and walking around the house nekkid.

My coworker is leaving!! The one that calls in for everything. He’s taking another position. Another friend asked about that position. She’s sooo crazy, when she found out the role is working closely with the cute white guy and not the ball player, she IM’d me and said “lovers”….NUT! She’d just commented this morning that he’s good looking and declares he checks her out when in the gym (in the building). She said he’s “feeling” black women… I’on know bout checking her out. She’s got a badonkadonk and he don’t strike me as knowing what to do with all that…lololol

I buy just about everything from Aldi, but will never, ever buy their cream of mushroom soup. Don’t like the color of the soup, the taste nor the look of those little brown squares passing as mushrooms.

I was hesitant about buying their cheeses for my famous mac n cheese, but I taste no change. I bought bread last week for $0.49. That tickled me. Ketchup is my thing and if Aldi’s ketchup can past m tastebuds, they’re onto something. I’ve been a Heinz chile my whole life. Now, when I got to Henize I taste all the sugar.

Reio – He’s a hottie too. I’d go as far as saying he’s intrigued. That much I can tell. He’s tried to toss a bit of “lingo” when chatting. Trust me though when I say he won’t know what to do. Especially with her. She’s too hot to handle.
