Do you need background info?

One of my friends had an awkward first date recently.  The guy was a “referral” from her co-worker, so he was basically a blind date set up.  The fact that he knew a boatload of personal information about her on their first date bothered her, though.

She is extremely private at work, so the co-worker was not privy to some of the things her date knew.  It turns out that the guy went on a little fact minding mission before he met her.  The co-worker only gave him her first and last name and what school she went to.

One quick (too quick?) Facebook search and he spotted a connection.  Someone he went to school with was related to my friend.  I don’t know which is creepier, the effort he put into get some background information – or the fact that he told her how much he “already discovered” about her.

Listen, I am sure this guy has a perfectly good explanation for going through great lengths to screen my friend.  Perhaps he has a psycho ex.  Maybe he has had his pet rabbit boiled in a revenge plot.  I get it. He doesn’t want to be hurt again! I have to ask, though, do you think he went too far?

Would you consider it a red-flag if someone you just met knew waaaaay too much information about you?  Would you go out with this person again if that was the only thing that turned you off?

Have you ever used Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. to “get a better sense” of someone’s personality?  Did it make you rethink dating them?

I swear, Facebook is a blessing and curse for dating..at the same time.

Disco- Lol.

Leggs- He showed up to rub it in that he “stole” his client’s wife and got her pregnant. He had the nerve to get in the pool and swim! He would have been swimming with a damn toaster, lol. I found out because he took my son with him.

Cosign…the nerve of him. If he’d done that with the right person, the lil chirrens party would’ve gone left really badly, really quickly.

sassy – speaking of little kid parties going left – why is chuck e cheese the new jump off spot? apparently there was a fight involving up to 18 adults at a chuck e cheese. I’m all for having to do what you gotta do where you gotta do it but dang.

Slim- I think he was like the women y’all were talking about. He wanted to rub it in but also didn’t want her around her husband without him. The husband told me that my ex would sit outside in the car for an hour or whatever while she was with him visiting their kids (he has custody).

Disco- OMG! I just had a conversation about that last week. I took my grandson to Chuck-E-Cheese’s and there were mini skirts and leggings galore. They also sell alcohol now. I have read about several fights jumping off there.

disco- I read about that. When I think on it, there have been several altcercations/fights break out at Chuck E. I will honestly say that I’ve been to the one here in Fayetville 2 or 3 times and that place is always FULL of people…all types of people. With as hood as it was I expected to see a mini bar somewhere in the back or something…

Ummm, ummm, WOW. Your ex is a piece of work. How did he get so far as to be able to swim. Seem like the husband is a punk for even standing by for that foolishness. I dont know of one man that would have allowed him to remain on the premises intact! IJS…

Leggs & Sassy- I asked the husband how he got in there and he said he didn’t want to ruin the child’s party. IMO- it was ruined when old boy stepped his tail in there! I don’t know of anyone else that would have allowed that. He would have gotten a Brooklyn beat down if it was anyone else.

Slim- The fight I read about started because one kid was taking too long on a game.

speaking of fights – this wasn’t quite a fight but they said it got real for a minute. anyone read about the teenager who got arrested for shouting bingo in a crowded bingo hall? it sounds like a joke. you want to laugh. they said those little old bingo ladies were hot. hot enough to have old boy arrested for disorderly conduct. lol.

Yep within an inch of his life…

The fight I read about started because one kid was taking too long on a game.

I was thinking along those lines..those places are super packed. The one I went to was off the chains. You know how some places like skating rinks have “kiddie time” during the day and then “grown folk time” during the evening and night?…well Chuck E. was jumping so hard I thought that would’ve happened…and now they’re selling likka. It’s a recipe for disaster…next time you’ll hear about a shooting or something.

SassyMe ~ I’m wondering how he got his clothes off to swim. Dude should have jumped in and drowned his behind. He probaby was doing so in his mind. No need for a real jail sentence.

Disco- The child is only 6. He has custody and she has visitation & the ex goes with her. (insecure much?) There is another younger whose paternity is questionable (might be my ex’s or her ex-husband’s).
