Is dating making you broke?
Cody has been only been seeing Sabrina for a couple of weeks now and he already has to adjust his budget. Why? Apparently, Sabrina likes the finer things in life. Cody likes the fine Sabrina. Now he is doing way too much to pursue her. He feels that she is worth it. I don’t think any man should go to these kind of lengths to get a woman.
Eventually, she will find out he is strapped for cash. If this is the kind of thing that would be a deal breaker, he needs to know it sooner than later. Why would anyone want to go broke trying to date someone? I understand wanting to impress a person. I even get that men want to show that they can be a provider. Where do you draw the line, though?
Cody felt that Sabrina was out of his league from the moment he met her. Instead of letting her see him for who he is, he took the impress her with shiny things route. What happens if (when?) she gets distracted by the next man offering her more? Is he going to regret the money he invested in pursuing her?
I have met men like this before after they have been used by women who like to date men for sponsorship. They end up questioning the motives of every woman they meet after that. They also suddenly become a lot more selective about spending money on women to impress them.
What happens when you spend too much money dating? What kind of impact does that have? What is the most money you have spent on one date?
Do you think it is possible to date someone without blowing a lot of cash and still manage to impress them?

I saw on World News Tonight a man that has opened a warehouse and turned it into a pet food bank. People can go there and get food for their pets. Novel idea…
And, those fools throwing gallons of milk on the floor and pretending to have fallen should be forced to do some type of community service. It is disgusting when I see people wasting food for a damn prank.

I dropped over 200 bucks last Friday on a date. Hit a few night spots, ended up in IHop eating breakfast around 4:00am. Took her to the spot to try and get some………….. and she fell asleep. I sat there watching her snore thinking…….them dayum crab cakes and shrimp and grits must’ve been 40 bucks a piece!

I think you may have misunderstood my intentions. Just as there is merit to him showing you how he would take care of you, your behavior does the same.
If a woman can’t be with me at McDonald’s and have a good time, how would our chemistry change at a higher end restaurant? We’re still the same two people (one DTE, the other stank), just in a different venue…
So, serious or not, dating is a mirror into BOTH peoples personalities and the meshing of the two.

Ok Ex, Look at it likt this, You put loot in a 401K for years and Years…investing and saving so that when the time is right you can step away from the rat race and enjoy the best years of your life….. Now while you are making that investment, you are still living.. .still doing your thing, just making sure that one day you can let go of the grind and enjoy your life….One day I will turn in the keys to the executive washroom ( Side pieces) let the top back on the classic roadster, and ride off into the sunset!!!

dushawn – I have a male friend who was telling me about a chick he was dating that was a bit high falutin. lol. he says he took her to dinner one night and she ordered shrimp and grits. he said the entrée was like $30. he didn’t trip off of the $30 so much as he tripped off of the fact that he paid $30 for some grits. dude had me cracking up talking about do you know how cheap grits are?

I feel him completely…..not only that, we didn’t have reservations, the wait would’ve been over an hour. Unbeknownst to my date, I discreetly slipped the hostess a 20 and she sat us immediately. And I had to pay 10 bucks to park……three times that night. I was adding it all up while she snored.

On topic – Like everything in life, you date within your means. If I found out a dude was blowing his beer budget on champagne for me, I would so not be impressed. I’m impressed by responsible, confident,SMART men, not those that will go in debt because of stupidity. Sure, at this point in life, I’m like Celisea – a burger at Ruby Tuesday should not be a stretch. I’ve had the finer things in this life and I’ve lived on a strict budget before too. I can hang and pull my own if the going gets tough. I want to know what a smart businessman you are and what other plans for the future you have, not how well you can keep up with the Joneses. I don’t have time for fake, silly men. You might be impressing others by leading with your wallet, but you won’t impress me. Grow the heck up!

You should never lead with your wallet. Dating once again is suppose to be fun first, so spending money is not a problem because in the initial dating stage I want to enjoy my date.
@Button..How much you spend on a date will not tell a woman if that guy can take care of her. Some big spenders don’t know how to manage their money and quite often end of broke.
You have to set a dating budget, the ATL has so many events that are reasonably price you can have been fun dating.

I have been with my boyfriend six years, and we’ve lived together for four of them. I have never pressured him about marriage, and we have talked about it happening, but I’m starting to give up hope. Kimmie – a peice of paper is very vital. try to claim that lottery without that piece of paper(ticket) and see how far you will go. I never liked that saying. As for the letter writer, she need to walk away or stay content in being just the live in girlfriend. Also as for the lack of schex she need to talk to him and find out what is really going on.
