Hook up or relationship potential?
I know the feeling people get when they meet someone new and things are so..well NEW NEW. You aren’t sure if they like you the same way you like them. You don’t really want to show all your “cards” (emotions) first because that idea terrifies you. You basically want to figure out as soon as you can: am I a hook up or potential relationship candidate.
Maybe on some level, it doesn’t matter. Time usually reveals all, right? Is there a way to get a hint of which way it will go, though? The way we date these days makes it harder to gauge true interest. We definitely have to develop some skills!
How can you really tell if you are hook up or considered for a relationship unless you ask outright? Is it a good idea early on or can that backfire?
Do men usually take a long time to figure out if they are interested in a relationship versus just a hook up?

Button – Just to be clear…I was not at all bashing you. I didn’t feel like you were pushing your beliefs on us. There are many people who do try to push their morals and judgement on people and it makes me wonder about them.

disco – After a point, my parents retired the whuppings and started the punishments and taking away privledges. We realized then we’d rather have the beatings cause it would be over and done with!LOL!!

kimmie – my folks never did punishment. they didn’t want to enforce it. they’d much rather beat us and send us outside. we were “blowing their high”. lol.
dushawn – what might that explain? I was some kind of embarrassed going to school with a big bruise on the side of my head. my momma was wrong for that. oh shoot D. you might be on to something. in 5th grade I had a little incident with a brick that had me bandaged up in the middle of my forehead. I still remember the names of the boys who teased me that time. hmmm. I’m trying to recall if I took any other blows to the head. lol.

disco ~ I was fortunate, if one can even use that word talking about whoopings, but I never had the “accessories” used on me. I was too frail. Just the belt.

Leggs – I only got whipped with a belt, hose pipe cut to size and switches. No extension cords, bottles or other misc items. I did get a shoe thrown at me but I ducked in the nick of time. lol

slim – girl no flashbacks. it’s just a funny story now. one of the ones that gets thrown out during our “remember when” sessions. girl, we got some beatings growing up. just over the weekend a cousin and I were reminiscing on the time when 3 of us got a whooping by an aunt who was probably 7 or 8 months pregnant at the time. you’d think we could outrun a 4’10 pregnant woman but, no lie, my auntie was literally jumping over beds to get at us.

Dirty – Magnum size is not a requirement for me….i’m cool with average to medium large. I’m not experienced enough for the donkey di-cks ride.
disco – The one time I got a group whooping was when we called ourselves (my sister, two cousins and myself) doing gymnastics on the bar in the closet. We took all the clothes and hangars out and started swinging upside down on it. That thing broke out of the wall and left a HUGE hole….yup, my dad tore us ALLLLLL up. No one made it out unscathed.

slim – we got so many group whoopings it ain’t funny. when sleeping over with my grandparents my grandfather made it clear that if he had to come up the stairs everybody up there was getting it. he’d whoop the kids that were sleep in case they were pretending to be sleep. most of us cousins hung out in groups and usually whatever went down we all paid for it. when I mentioned getting a whooping for getting hit by a car on here I’m not sure I mentioned that we all got whooped for it. lol.
