After Beyonce rocked the halftime show at the Super Bowl, I have heard a lot of people comment about her sex appeal. It’s always so interesting to see what people classify as beautiful and sexy. Especially when it comes to what is sexy for women of color, the standard of beauty seems different.
Many people believe that attractiveness and beauty is subjective, but what about sex appeal? Have you ever met someone who just seem to ooze sex appeal? Something about the way they carried themselves or their confidence that grabs your attention.
What do you consider sexy? What makes a woman sexy? What makes a man sexy? Do you think there is such a thing as being too sexy? Too provocative?

Yes, I have definitely met someone that oooozed sex appeal!!! IMO, as it relates to sex appeal, looks sort of rounds it out last, but on top, for me would be confidence, how they carry themselves, how they hang a suite, chiseled, etc etc etc.
I know I’m not a man but IMO and as I’ve been complimented….even with all my squareness (ha ha ha)…..the same holds true for a woman. The walk, the talk, the confidence….so I’ve been told. Also, for women that possess sex appeal, I wouldn’t equate that to showing skin, again IMO. Being able to wear the heck out of that little black dress or suit is where it’s at (yes, “at”). IMO, t & a hanging out does NOT equate to sexy. But if that’s how you define sexy, do you
And again, yes yes, I’ve seen a couple of brothers make me do the exorcist’s head spin (lol) cause they had going on….from the suit hanging just right, down to their shoes being on point (hitting the wrists just right, pants hitting the shoes just right), back up to the perfect hairline, to just being on top of theirs and how they handle their business….. Whew buddy and IJS lololol
Anyhoo, I have client visits today and need to grab a cab in about 45 minutes. I have to meet up with my portfolio team for heading out. I’z tired this morning but I’ll be alright. Had a blast last night. Annnnd I got in 3 miles on the treadmill when I got back to the hotel
I’m excited about hanging out tonight. It’s gonna be fun!!!

Energy and confidence are twos sexy attributes. Those women, whatever their color, who are energetic and confident are sexualy appealing. Those women who are depressed and lack energy, no matter how attractive, are not sexy. Beyonce is energetic in her movements, and confidence in the way she holds herself and her posture. That makes her, and any woman, sexy.

her dress(all her clothes fit her in some kinda sexxy way_undescribable),her walk, her ohh, soo sexxy figure, good, and measured booteey’ (not too much hanging out too bigg, like its contrived),…her demeanor…u lay eyes on her,u just wanna ugghhhh….say come her’ babey..lemme see ur…her back..ughh,my God…..a sexxy woman to me is that woman that seems toi have the right outfit in her wadrobe coz All the damn time is see her,she is on point…….!!

Im not a man, but from my perspective and what my husband tells me.. its all about how you carry yourself. By showing clevage, one doesn’t become attractive. I feel attractive when I am feeling confident and feel that I look like I’m all that a bag of doritos. Mind you, Im not wearing a revealing attire necessarily.
There are times however, when my husband will ask me to wear “those” jeans that make my booty look great and wear a tank top etc etc.. when we are about to go hangout with his friends.

celisea – I didn’t think aloft would suit you. lol. you are right it is trendy. extremely trendy. almost to the point of being young and hip hop-py. I think that’s why they can get away with those microscopic rooms. they make it up for it with happy hour and pool tables and karaoke, etc.

A goatee with a little salt-n-pepper going on is quite nice too
Now as far as sexiness for a woman, showing all your goodies or wearing stuff CLEARLY too small for you or not age appropriate is sooooo not sexy to me. Take Keyshia Coles mother for instance, I think she dresses too young looking for her age.

Morning All!!!
Yes, I love confidence and dare I say it, swag, in a man. Some just have a presence about them that I cannot describe. They may not be considered handsome by most standards, but it’s all in how they work with what they have. They command respect yet at the same time put everyone around them at ease. Part of that self-confidence is not making the women they deal with feel they have to dumb themselves down to build him up or stroke his ego. I love intelligent men. They know their stuff, but they don’t talk down or make others that might not be as knowledgable on something feel bad.
I love muscular arms and chests on men. Where you can see the rips under a well-tailored dress shirt! Like my hubs!

Letter from a guy — My girlfriend and I have been seeing each other for four months. When we started dating she told me she usually doesn’t go for guys as physically attractive as me, which I found odd. She is very cute but not the hottest girl I’ve dated. Her intelligence, personality, and character are why I’ve fallen for her. Things have been great until the last two weeks when she started becoming more distant and less affectionate toward me. Last weekend she went with her single girlfriends to the Caribbean for a brief vacation. I barely heard from her the week after she got back, but we both have demanding jobs. I ordered flowers to be delivered to her office. She then called me and said she no longer wants to be in a relationship, and that I’m way more attractive then her previous partners. I asked had I done anything wrong and she replied I’ve been perfect. But she said while on vacation she barely missed me. She said she fears if we continue, I’ll find someone better looking, or worse cheat on her like her last boyfriend. I asked her to reconsider since a weekend of no communication is too short a time to make such a huge decision and she agreed. I feel like I am being dumped based on my looks. I don’t want to lose her but I wonder if it’s worth it to get back together if she reconsiders. Do her girlfriends have something do with this? What should I do?

I had a girlfriend a few years ago who ended up marrying a gorgeous model. He made every woman’s heart skip a beat. She is cute, but they were kind of an odd couple. She had some trust issues because every girl and guy would stare at him when they went out together. She did feel like people were thinking to themselves “what is he doing with her?”. Aside from obvious matters of appearance, I don’t think sex appeal is a tangible thing that is measurable. What makes someone a movie star? It isn’t their acting talent; it isn’t necessarily even their good looks; I don’t think you can really say what makes you want to watch them. It’s just there, you just do, it’s intangible.
Likewise with music. Aside from idiomatic or genre preferences, what makes you want to listen to some more than others? It’s not to do with their technical abilities. It’s intangible.
What makes you hot for that one rather than the other? Who cares? You just do.

Letter from unspeakable — not me—- My boyfriend and I have been dating for six months but have known each other for more than two years. I am black and he is white. This has never been a problem and our parents, families, and friends are fully supportive of our relationship. Amazingly, we have had precious few arguments or problems. Until now. In a moment of extreme frustration, my boyfriend used the “N-word” in reference to one of my friends. We were alone so no one else heard the comment. I was stunned, shocked, and appalled. I immediately left the room because I was so disturbed. It is a word that neither I nor my family or friends use in any sort of context because I have been raised to view it as incredibly offensive. He came to me and apologized profusely and had tears in his eyes while doing so. I accepted his apology because it was completely out of character for him, but I am now questioning our relationship. I like JHud slimmer. I don’t want her to lose too much weight, but before she looked uncomfortble in her clothes, like she was bloated. Now she seems happier and like she just feels good about herself and her health. She dresses more stylish also.
I’ve never been a fan of her singing, however. She yells and sounds hard to me.
Now Kelly, I read where she’s been working with a personal trainer for the last 3 years, so her arms and thighs are more cut than before. Those leather shorts she wore at the halftime show made her thighs look bigger.
I actually read Michelle admitted to suffering from some depression. She may not be eating much, tho she’s always been on the slim side.

Interesting topic. I’ve dated women who have broken up with me because, in their words, “I’m always well-dressed” or “I always wear nice clothes”. I don’t dress in expensive, designer clothes, just well-fitted ones and in colors that complement my skin tone. One girl was said she loved it when I wore a t-shirt with holes and jeans with holes (I purposely tore a couple of holes in an old t-shirt since she was giving me a hard time about the way I dressed).
I never understood that. Anyone want to enlighten me? Seriously!

On Beyonce being talented. I can’t say I’m her biggest fan, but I gotta say, she’s got some pipes on her. She’s a natural talent. Grant it, I still say all the skimply outfits and tail shaking is a part of her, her image and what she’s know for. But, aside from that and just plain ole sitting still….SHE CAN SANG!!! Now if all she did was shake in the skimpy and couldn’t sing, that would be awholenuther story.
Alicia Keys, IMO is talented instrumentally, but she’s not all that great when it comes to singing.
Jennifer Hudson, is another that can SANG!!! Sometimes she’s leaning towards “yelling” and sort of grates on my nerves, but calmly singing…yeah, she’s got it

It’s to the point they are suggesting you go to the complete other side of the spectrum. Either that, or you need to upgrade your selection process and find ladies who can appreciate what you have to offer.
We’re pretty blunt in here!

disco, “there are certain aspects of that that men just do, they don’t discuss”. Those are called men who cannot communicate their thoughts, but I digress. Let’s get back to the topic “what makes a woman sexy”.

@Exile and Kimmie snoop detectives, you two are funny!
M-Kerry… Dude stop with the matching skin tone comments. Now when you speak to the ladies of the ATL speak with a little force like u are going to make them smoke a cigarette after you bring the dizzle.
I dress well in the office at all times and I am a gentlemen at all times. But sometimes that fine one that likes to be spanked, U just let her know you will bring like no other! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ disco who says so? you and kimmie? Is it written in stone anywhere that a man can’t talk about wanting his clothes to complement his skin tone without making him look/sound metrosexual?

kimmie, wearing a clean white shirt and dark denim is going beyond taking pride in my appearance but wearing an old t-shirt with holes and jeans with holes is appropriate? Hmmm. Anyway, back to original topic…

guess we are on two teams re this matter. personally, I don’t think it’s a communication issue though. just because a man doesn’t tell me about his “daily constitutional” doesn’t mean he couldn’t if he wanted to. lol.

I think this is the first time in a long time that I’ve listened to a convo where the man is constantly talking about his appearance, neatness, colors complementing his skin tone.
I do have a question, are you red bone, white, bald head?

Hey, if you’re cool with chatting up dudes about beauty rituals and such, do you. It’s a turnoff for me, but if you like it, I love it! My man is a manly man that dresses well and takes good care of himself. His appearance speaks for itself, he doesn’t have to say anything.

kimmie, just read your post: “His appearance speaks for itself, he doesn’t have to say anything.” Yes, that’s because you have SEEN him but you have not seen me. That’s why I described in detail, because nobody here has seen me, I thought being as descriptive as possible would make more sense.
Thanks again and nice evening!

what do I think? I think you might as well just ask her to go. you can really take getting some out of the equation because it sounds like to me you don’t want to be the odd man out at Hilton head. besides that, don’t even press for any tonight. trust me, it will be better in Hilton head. something about being away.
