The joys of having male friends knows no bounds. They say the most enlightening things to get me really thinking. For instance, my friends tell me it is easier to get sex from a “modern woman” than a home-cooked meal. Not that they are complaining, mind you.
Apparently, the women they meet consider cooking the last frontier in a new relationship. These women will ONLY cook for love. There really is something to be said about a woman taking the time to cook a man a home cooked meal. Cooking for and feeding a man is a very intimate thing, but so is sex.
I am curious to know if men remember the women who cooked a great meal for them more than the woman who rocked his world in the bedroom. What would you think if a woman offered to cook you dinner for a first or second date? Have you ever cooked a meal for a woman you just started dating?
Ladies, when do you decide to cook a meal for a guy? Is it usually after the two of you have become physical? When was the last time you made a romantic dinner for someone?
P.S. We are all adults, right? So let’s have a judgement free discussion!

“Have you ever cooked a meal for a woman you just started dating?”
Yes. I love to cook. My favorite meal is breakfest and if you are lucky enough to be invited to spend the night at my house after a night out on the town dancing the night away I will cook you a great breakfest. I have been told my hashbrown potato’s, slab bacon, country sausage and eggs cooked to order (omelette, over easy, etc.)are very good.
If you fall asleep after eating breakfest I love cooking in my “crock pot” slowly all day. I hope you wake-up and smell “what’s cooking” and stay a little while longer. Enjoy.

Leggs, bluz, maybe I haven’t got there yet, but there isn’t a fight or argument that I’ve got into that has made me think about going to get my gun, half the time I forget I even have it. I haven’t been to the range in over 16 years, and I’m pretty good shot. If you’re the kind of person that will snap, the gun just happen to be your weapon of choice, people do it with knives and any other weapon that they can get their hands on.
Ex, everyone in our shop wear gloves when we have to handle the tough jobs. it’s usually the jack legs that don’t.

@DuShawn – “Guns”
Too many cowards are walking around with guns. For example in the state of GA over 250,000 people (grandpa/ma, etc.) applied for and recieved permits to carry concealed weapons in public places. Laws such as “Stand Your Ground” are making it easier for people to use “fear” as an excuse for taking matters into their own hands. Guns do not kill people. People kill people.

ex – I don’t have a problem dating a guy who owns guns. I do, however, need to approve of his gun handling methods.
button – re hair. sure chemicals can be damaging especially if not applied properly and maintained properly. sounds like C lets a professional handle that. re the damage that comes from over-washing, it’s a different kind of damage. I don’t know if you answered the question of your ethnic background but I’ll suffice it to say “it’s a black thing, you wouldn’t understand”. y’all remember those t-shirts? lol.

Buying a house made me really take notice to guys that are handy around the house.
Dushawn – I have a former boss just like your friend. He has a PH D in Finance and is working on one in Math just to have something else to do! But dude can fix cars and do ANYTHING around the house and yard! He said working on cars and houses helped put him thru college. I used to tease him and ask him how many houses he built over the weekend!

I’m not for guns but I can’t lie, I ain’t mad at the folks that took someone out for stepping into their homes with the intent to harm. I’ve been burglarized twice and during that time, I was so mad I wished I had a gun.

The young mother on GMA some months ago or maybe a year or so ago that told her story, killed one of her intruders…the other coward ran.
She had just had a baby, husband had just died of cancer and she’s living out in the middle of nowhere. Two dudes apparently had been watching decided to come in on her. She had two guns. She dialed 911 and asked if she could shoot. The operator said I can’t tell you what to do but if they step in your house, you have the right to protect yourself. I was soooo happy happy happy for her in pulling the trigger. They found a long blade. No telling what they would have done to her and baby.

“as they say, guns don’t kill people, people kill people.”
disco — Maybe so, but guns do make it a helluva lot easier to kill people. Not much effort required — just point & shoot. The other available methods all require a lot more commitment to finish the drill, so to speak.
And speaking of finishing the drill — congrats to the bammers (S/H) on the win. Tough ending for my DAWGS, but a great game & great effort from both sides. Now, go & handle your business against the leprechauns.

my son found my gun when he was around 6. not accidently found, went on purpose looking for it found. needless to say, he still remembers that butt whooping. I’m all for having a gun. I also have something in everyone room of my house that you can club someone over the head with. it may sound paranoid but you have to have a plan. I joked that I didn’t really have a fire drill plan in place but I had a home invasion plan in place. I wish a ninja would.

swiss – no doubt. I get it. I’m not talking massacre situations. I’m talking the husband that shoots his wife. he could just as easily choke her out or hold her down in the tub and drown her or something. he doesn’t have to shoot her to kill her. mothers that kill their children. sometimes they shoot them but usually they find other ways to kill them. I’m only saying where there’s a will there’s a way and when one person wants another person dead there’s more than one way to make it happen.
S/H – it shouldn’t be a surprise. I also can’t stand men with smooth, hairless legs. that’s not a good look. man-boobs are also not a good look. a man can be groomed but he doesn’t need to be “soft” with it.

“criminals will find a way to get the guns they want, no matter what rules and regulations they put in place.”
The cases I referenced weren’t carried out by criminals. It was teenage kids & mental patients. If the simple act of acquiring an arsenal like that were illegal, they would have drawn attention to themselves before having the opportunity to carry out their plans & some of those cases could have been prevented.

I agree with “guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” There is a great possibility that my friend would have killed this guy with his hands or a knife. We’ll never know. I had heard that he recently bought the gun. I know the gun didn’t kill this guy…my friend killed this guy. He snapped and reached for the gun.
S/H – I would hope to never be in an argument that would escalate to one of us wanting to grab for a gun. Maybe I’ve wanted to choke someone, but wouldn’t actually do it!

Also, that whole “criminals don’t obey gun laws, so why have them?” argument has got to be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. By that logic, there should be no laws at all, since criminals, by definition, break them. Makes absolutely no sense.

S/H — Do you think that whack job in Colorado could have killed as many people if he had walked into that theater with a sword instead of an assault rifle? Yes, there would still be murders. Yes, some of them would still involve guns. But just because you can’t completely eliminate something is not a reason to give up taking steps to reduce it.

Swiss try this analogy, Why is it the last place you look that you find what you’re looking for. Well why would you keep looking since you’ve found it.
If guns weren’t so readily available, the killers would just find something else to do what they want to do, It wouldn’t deter them from killing.

This is not a hypothetical argument. We have actual real-life facts to examine. The US has, by far, the easiest access to guns of any country in the western world. We also have, by far, the highest rate of gun-related deaths in the western world. This is not a coincidence. More guns == more gun violence. Period. Sure, there are other ways to kill people, but short of bombs, none as easy and efficient. Should bombs be legal? Should building your own chemical or biological weapons at home be legal? Again, no law will ever completely stop its intended target, but they do make a difference. All you have to do is look at the statistics.
