Dating: Will ONLY cook for love

The joys of having male friends knows no bounds. They say the most enlightening things to get me really thinking. For instance, my friends tell me it is easier to get sex from a “modern woman” than a home-cooked meal. Not that they are complaining, mind you.

Apparently, the women they meet consider cooking the last frontier in a new relationship. These women will ONLY cook for love. There really is something to be said about a woman taking the time to cook a man a home cooked meal. Cooking for and feeding a man is a very intimate thing, but so is sex.

I am curious to know if men remember the women who cooked a great meal for them more than the woman who rocked his world in the bedroom. What would you think if a woman offered to cook you dinner for a first or second date? Have you ever cooked a meal for a woman you just started dating?

Ladies, when do you decide to cook a meal for a guy? Is it usually after the two of you have become physical? When was the last time you made a romantic dinner for someone?

P.S. We are all adults, right? So let’s have a judgement free discussion!

Cooking dinner on the first or second date wouldn’t be that bad for me, because for the few that have cooked dinner for me, it was done during the friend stage of our relationships. Didn’t know they had rules for that.

I am not a very good cook. So unless i want him to run away i wait on the cooking. When a man cooks for a me i find that very sexy, and i think men are just better cooks. btw i agree with Single didn’t know there were rules about cooking. Learn something new every day

lol. good morning y’all. I’m that chick that puts cooking way on the back burner (no pun intended). a guy has to graduate to the place where I’m willing to cook for him. part of it is because some guys come off like they expect it (I’ve had guys I’ve only just met ask what I was cooking. to me that’s just a lame attempt to get an invite). another part is because I protect my home and it’s often quite a bit of time before someone is invited to my home. I could go on and on about my reasons for delaying the cook move but that one won’t happen off the gate with me.

I’m not a cook either. Somehow, I tend to meet men who enjoy cooking and fix up some tasty stuff. I can cook, but just don’t really like to…

I have a feeling this topic won’t last very long…

hey bluz. I hope the topic doesn’t last very long but the reality is that it has potential. eating is life and cooking is part of that. with the folks that love to cook, the folks that hate to cook, the folks that try but can’t I’m sure that folks have stories for day re relationships and cooking. I’m sure a lot of women were told that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and I’m sure a lot of women took that to heart and went to cooking and baking trying to make magic happen.

S/H – it’s been done both ways. I might mention I was getting ready to fix dinner and dude would ask what I was cooking. It could be he brought it up first. to me the “what are you cooking” line is just about the same as the “what are you doing line”. cooking leads to “so, you going to invite me to dinner”. what are you doing leads to “you want some company”. brothers will look for any opening they can get.

I love cooking so, I consider myself a home grown chef. I’m a turtle when it comes to getting physical with a guy so he’s sure to taste my food before the phyical. The last romantic meal I cooked was last Wednesday night. I prepared baked ginger blue fish with a side of quinoa topped with fresh italian parsley and sauteed veggie sprinkled with balsamic vinegar.

Ex – Yes…I can boil and egg. I can cook…I can follow recipes and usually what I make tastes very good. I just don’t like to cook. Maybe it’s because it’s hard to only cook for myself…

I think the older a man gets the more he appreciates a woman that embraces and takes pride in her traditional maternal role. Nowadays, it is easy to find a beautiful chick, with bread, that’s great in bed. It’s far more challenging to find a woman that can cook and maintain a clean and organized household. Most men I know are longer attracted to the female that smells like Vera Wang or Flower Bomb perfume. We want the chick that smells like Pinesol and Bleach with a hint of chicken grease.

A woman who can’t or won’t cook, shame on her…I will just speak for me on this one, but I know there are lots of cats who think like this…A woman’s ability and willingness to cook speaks directly to her ability sustain a relationship. How is that you might ask? Here’s how, If I am going to date you, and consider seriously staying with you, you must be willing to happily prepare some nourishment for me. Of course, initially we will dinner date, go here, go there, but if we are going to grow as couple, there is no way that everytime we eat, we eat out. Get in there and whip something up. Women want stability in a man, and men want the same out of a woman. You don’t want a man with no job, we don’t want woman who can’t cook or looks at cooking as a chore.

jake – I’ll give you that but I’m for the most part referring to those jokers that think they can meet you on Thursday and be at your house eating Sunday dinner that same weekend. I’m talking about the clowns that want to skip right over the initial dinner out and movie dates and go straight to house dates. those jokers don’t deserve home cooked meals. Any speculation on why that dude killed his girlfriend.?

I was loking at his facebook page and ummmmmmm….

I mean, even if u want to upgrade, thats no reason to kil someone..just dump them,no matter how hard.
Reminds me of that Carolina Panhters football player..Carruth who killed his prego girlfriend…to avoid child support, supposedly…

NFL players do some of the dummest stuff….obviously those football aided degrees aint legit coz iu can see..there is no mental aptitude there…

The schools are failing the kids..falsely,illegally and illegitemately “graduating” these football players for profit sake

Shame on them!!!!

I think part of my issue with the non cooking is that my mother wasn’t much of a cook. She was a fixer. She fixed things out of a box, can, frozen foods. Now…she can cook when she does. She just never taught me how. I’ve been with a couple of men who could cook well and learned some things from them.

Ex – it is so sad about Jovan and his girlfriend. They had a very young baby together also. Such a tragedy…

S/H – I would like a man who is handy around the house, but that’s not a dealbreaker. I’ve got my daddy who can fix things. Dad also teaches me. Since I bought my first house last year, he comes over to do stuff and I watch him so that I learn for next time.

S/H – a man doesn’t have to be a contractor or anything but he does need to know how to do something. paint, lay tile, basic plumbing, something. funny you mention that because I feel some kind of way when I meet a man who doesn’t own any tools. I’m like really. you don’t have a hammer, a screwdriver, a wrench? I also feel some kind of way when I meet a man who can’t drive a standard.
