Mo’ Money, Mo Problems
I was having a nice quiet dinner alone recently when I happened to witness an awkward scene happening at the table next to mine. There was a lady celebrating her promotion at work while her man was sitting there practically pouting about her new salary.
Apparently, she had joined the six-figure club, which displeased him because he was not already in it. I didn’t even KNOW this woman and I wanted to tell her to RUN from that guy. What kind of man gets visibly upset when the woman he supposedly loves succeeds? Like, who does that??
Putting my hypercritical judgment aside, I have to wonder why Ms. Six-Figure was disclosing her exact salary to a guy she was only dating? Do you ever tell people you are dating how much you make?
I know some people prefer that men have the “power” in a relationship, but does it matter if a woman makes more money than her man? Does that change the dynamic of the relationship? Should it change the dynamic?

Sassy~ Nah, he ain’t setting up for the okey doke. People who are into that vibe know EXACTLY what they’re getting. EXACTLY, you hear me? Ol girl up in the female club hitting on men and she knows dude is married? Yeah, she trying to get in where she fit in…
S/H~ The decision about day to day BS that I don;t want/need to handle. I pay the bills (simply because I am better at balancing the budget and saying no to the kids) Other than that, I don’t want to set up for the cable guy to come out, call for service on the (insert faulty appliance here) set up for the carpets to be cleaned, make appointments for the dog at the vet, etc. etc. etc. Make the decision and handle it. You catch me now?

Comon – I’m with you on the day-to-day BS at home. It just isn’t that serious, do what needs to be done and sit down! We don’t have to sit down and make big, deep decisions every day like a corporation, is what I was trying to explain.

This aint my first rodeo, I doubt seriously if anything will materialize. Its not up to me anyway….all I could do is make the intro and hope for the best. Speaking from experience, a situation like that takes several months of cultivation. They have to develop a true friendship. Then I got to introduce her to DuShawn II. “Come here son….meet your new Aunti….She gonna be sleeping in daddy room”. Honestly..I not in that space anymore. That’s played out for me. But that would be a good look when I walk in the party with both of them.

Comon — I have to agree with you. Although, I will say, before I had tried it, it was #1 on my bucket list.
I don’t know, I think it’s mostly the visual of 2 (hot) chicks enjoying each other’s bodies, but honestly, after having done it a few times (had to keep checking just to make sure it wasn’t just the choice of ladies involved 
), it’s not something I ever think about anymore.

Ex~ I believe that how I know was covered in a previous Freaky Friday blog, but I like swiss, have been to “man promised land” and like I said, it’s overrated. And I think swiss summed it up nicely. Usually the only guys who get hot and bothered by a 3-way are the guys who have not had one.

Yeah it’s late but anyway…let me preface my response by saying I don’t date guys for their money. Now when you’re dating someone and they almost ALWAYS seem to be in some kind of financial bind or are juuust getting by then that could be some indication. OR of they’re working at a menial job with no chance of advancement and have to borrow $20 from you for gas “til payday” then that might be another indication.

No matter how much she makes men still have to be men. Bills need to get paid, food has to be bought, and if there are children involved they have to be fedand clothed. When all these essential requirements are met who gives a damn who makes what.

Lemme defend Sassy’s exes on borrowing/asking for gas money:
I am one of those who poor with saving side money. I can invest and pretty much know I got a weakness so I soak awy as much pre-tax as I could possibly can.
My problem is spending in a staggered way enough to last untill pay day,the money I take home. I got a real problem with having say,a stack in an account and then my mom calling to say she needs some. So I tend to either spend right away when I have an immediate need without due regard to the next pay day or just being compassionate with my Africa folks.
It leaves me pauperish sometimes.
That’s where I’m glad I’m married coz I got a knack for asking Queen,’hey I need gas money’
She seems to always have a stash.
Sp maybe Sassy’s men were as bad as myself.

Single – That would tell me she might not be that smart. Cause unless it’s real obvious – say she’s a doctor and you work at the post office, one cannot be sure on education alone. Though, on average most college grads do make more than those with only a high school diploma.
But Single, why would you have a problem with her assuming it? Is she hanging her education over your head and throwing it in your face all the time or something? Or do you have a chip on your shoulder about it?

There are a lot of jobs that don’t require a college degree that earn six figure salary’s, those linemen you see on the telephone poles bring in as much 240k. Some top executives don’t make as much as linemen do.

comon, Kimmie, I guess I’m looking at it from what I see with the guys I work with, I’m the only one not married, and their wives call them some the silliest thing, like the cable just went out, the power just went out, I can’t find my keys. I’m sitting there thinking, and you wonder why I’ve never been married? when I say a break I mean a break from having to make decisions all the time not from the daily household demands. (even though I know some that think that way)
I was just having a conversation with a co-worker about having to listen to someone’s daily work drama everyday, He was saying that you just block 20 min out to listen, I was like I don’t know if I could do that, I can’t take it everyday.
