Dating: Other people’s opinion
A lot of us are taking home dates for the holidays..some for the first time. You may want to prepare yourself (and your date!) for the onslaught of opinions from parents, distant relatives, and/or close friends.
They may have opinions about the way your date is dressed, their manners, or even the way they treat you when everyone is around. When you are surrounded by people that love you, they tend to be a bit opinionated, a tad judgmental about the people that you date. The key is how you handle all those well-intentioned comments and opinions.
What is the best way to handle a situation where your family is putting your date through the wringer? Do you abandon them and let them fend for themselves? Do you run interference and serve as a buffer to protect them from awkward conversations?
Have you ever taken a date home for the holidays and it turned into a disaster?
Would you break up with someone if they didn’t fare well with the “meet the family” introductions?

I know you guys have probably strayed far from the morning topic but so far I have not had issues with family’s of anyone i’ve dated. The only issue is my exes mother calling me trying to get me to break her son up from the girl he’s currently dating. Apparently, she hates the b!tch (her words not mine) lol

oh he!! yeah. i need one of those. taryn916(?) also recently put out some cute natural tees.
cool, dani. i was actually ready about two months ago. but finding cantu curling cream just put me over the edge. it did wonders for my curls! got to the point where the straight hair was just in my way.

disco- I like As I Am coconut cowash i wash my hair 2-3 times a week in the summer. Now that it is cold I don’t like leaving the house with my hair wet so I will let the afro puff come out. My hair is tight curl to it like Freddie from different world so after day 4 it is frizzy. I really like Donna Marie styling jelly and her buttercream all natural. I shingle my hair/wash and go. I can’t bring myself to buy Miss Jessies. I have learned that if you want to try something new buy it from Sally’s Beauty you can return it in 30 days and get your money back.

brat / dani – btw, I should mention I’m not much of a product junkie and the products I do try have to be low budget. miss Jessie, kinky curly and ‘nem are out their darned minds (or rather I’m just cheap). I guess that’s why I’m big on mixing up my own concoctions. I just stopped and bought some oils yesterday. I know I bought vitamin e because I like it alot. not sure what other two I got. something to experiment with.

and i don’t do high-priced products either. trader joe’s tea tree poo & conditioner, any brand avocado or coconut oils, and cantu’s leave-in conditioner and curling cream. (zip it, for real!). each one only around $5. i mean, damn, it’s just hair.
