Are men powerless to women?

Yet another scandal involving a powerful, married man. The more details that emerge about Pertraeus and Broadwell, the more ridiculous all of this seems to become. You have two people who had a great deal to lose, deciding to risk it all to have an affair. I am sure it does not seem worth it now, to either of them. I wonder if the forbidden is so tempting that you don’t care what consequences you could face when you are caught up in it?

Whenever I hear discussions about why men and women cheat, I find it interesting how the reasons attributed to each gender can be so different. Women are trying to fill an emotional void, while men are seeking to feel a physical one.

Is is really about giving in to attraction and temptation? When you find yourself susceptible to being tempted, does it not all come down to making a choice?

I have seen a lot of judgment toward Broadwell, as many spin the sordid affair like it is some bad romance novel: Temptress targets her mark and lures him in to her web. Please! That all sounds a little too easy and it totally lets Petraeus off the hook. Are women really capable of making a man so powerless that his good sense goes out the window? Why do you think think?

Ex ~ you’re an idiot before and after you get caught. #1 – you’re an idiot thinking you’ve covered all bases and won’t get caught. What’s done in the dark always comes to the light!

This whole Patraeus thing is hogwash….of course IMO He’s a cheater like all other cheaters. Cheaters cheat…period. Frankly all this hoopla is attention not deserved. It’s folks and the media that plays it up and makes it bigger than it should be. Ignore his kind and the noise will die. He’s a mere mortal man like all the rest of them. What power???

I will say, I think was funny as heck and the post of the day for me…lol On the contrary I think you grow a little more, the more accepting of “you just can’t have it all”, that you become

I have chosen a committed monogomas path, as this Western culture dictates…but every time let a piece a puddy walk away that I know i should bust wide open….died a lil bit inside….lol

I’ll run off at the mouth about cheating in general and the few cases that I know of personally but I’m really not that interested in celebrity sex scandals. could care less. I haven’t read anything re this current scandal other than what I’ve read here on the blog.

brat – re women not owning cheating. that’s because we are smarter when it comes to cheating. sure women cheat. you likely won’t trick a woman into confessing though. she’d have to be caught dead to rights. look how many husbands are walking around calling their sons Jr. when that little boy looks just like so and so. lol.

On women cheaters being smarter. It’s true. I can’t recall (until this time in my life), having worked or being friends with women that cheated and their men were none the wiser. I mentioned on here before that two coworkers (not friends but coworkers), did the double date thing EVERY Friday with their side dudes. Their husbands would have “a night with the kids” while those two galavanted around with their BFs. Back then, it was soooo unbelievable to me, their lack of conscious and being cool with. Well, I’ve grown over the years and I ain’t saying it’s okay…by any means, but it’s just not a thing incredible no more. I’m not jaded at all. I’m just a little less naive, a bit more worldly and a bit more wiser.

No kidding on the coworkers. They’d be getting dolled up after work and changing clothes. JUST NO SHAME. One’s husband was so under a rock (he’d come up to the job) and the other’s hub was fine as heck. Later she told me (cause I asked…lol) how he cheated on her all the while pre-marriage and a few years into the marriage. Soooo, you married him still? Yeah, um okay. She felt it was payback time. How silly was that??? Of course they had one kid pre-marriage. Maybe that’s why she married him…shrugs

he felt it was payback time. How silly was that??? – very silly. One of the dumbest excuses out there. You will degrade yourself, throw your morals and ethics out the window just for some payback that you did with your body for the sake of revenge and not even caring about the person you gave your body to. That’s makes a helluva lot of sense to me. Just talking about those that are in it solely for payback and don’t care about the person they’re f……!

I used to work with this woman that cheated, saw her boyfriend at the mall with another woman, and tried to jump on her, the amazing thing was she was with her husband.

Now I’ve messed with married women, but had to stop when I was at this road side dairy bar and she pulled up with her husband and told him to tell me she wanted to see me while he was ordering food, too much for me had to leave them alone, they crazy (LOL)

Mmeelo – I’m saying men don’t have the monopoly or patent on cheating. And as mentioned earlier women do it, IMO for different reasons than men, but they do it just the same. My kid’s dad aunt did the same thing. She was at least 65 and had 9 kids. She sat down (of course grossed me out cause I was like 29 ish) and told me the same. She said Bo ran around on her their entire marriage and she was fed up. He was now (at that time), in a state of needing physical help and all she could think about was how she had to sit by and watch, care for the kids, while he ran around. I’m not saying it’s okay….AT ALL…but I think sometimes, men don’t realize the damage it does. Me? I say walk. Walk away and be done. Why put yourself through that or why spin your wheel doing something that’s not beneficial?? But, you just never know what it does to a woman. IJS..not advocating, but IJS

I’ve said it before, I walked once cause I felt a dude cheated. Could never confirm and all he could say was I think too much like a dude. Well, for me, in my mind, all I could see and hear was him doing and saying the same thing to me that he said to another. That’s enough to send me packing. Nope, no can do.
