Smart Phones Killed Dating?

I read a pretty compelling argument on a blog recently that said smart phones killed dating. Wait, is dating dead!? I can agree that smart phones have given dating a nasty virus. To some, they may have even put dating in the ICU. I think it is self-inflicted and it can be corrected, though!

With technology, social networking, social media, how can we harness all that cool tech stuff to actually enhance our dating experiences? What are clearly defined challenges that smart phones and technology bring? What are ways we can creatively handle those challenges?

In your own experiences, would you say that your smart phone has added to your game? Taken away from it? No change at all?

Happy Monday everyone!

WD, HST I just don’t find many women in heels very attractive

I have friends who don’t vote and yes, Slim, it does make me lose a little bit of respect for them. So many people have fought for the right for me to be able to voice my opinion that I would feel wholly unethical if I didn’t. But like HST, I would respect their right to NOT vote. (But I would be calling them an idiot in my head)

Leggs – I don’t know what I would say to a friend like that. I had a friend that I discovered had not voted, but that was about 12 years ago. She said her family just didn’t stress things like that, education was another thing they didn’t stress. I, on the other hand, have always been politically active and I got her to get registered & start voting as soon as I found out. It wasn’t that she wasn’t willing, just never been encouraged.

There is a guy I work with that said he stopped voting years ago and said, at 39, he is just very disallusioned. I didn’t press him about it. But folks before me died to have the right to vote, so not voting is not an option for me!

I can somewhat understand why people wouldn’t vote, depending on where they live. I always do, but in reality, my votes are pretty meaningless because of where I live. But I figure if I don’t at least vote, I don’t have any right to complain.

No tatson, don’t find them attractive then either, only been to skrip clubs about 5 maybe 6 times in my life and was thinking what the hell am I doing here then. The one girl I fell in love with until she told me the price was my ideal woman in the looks department :-D

I love to see a woman rocking a fly pair of heels. I love a force walk to go along with them. Not the model or stripper gait but that comfortable been wearing them for a while stride. Gets me everytime.

On the voting topic, if neither of the candidates are someone that you voted for in the primary, should you vote for one just for the sake of voting? I vote more for the local things than for the national, because these are the things that are really going to affect me. I will here people that vote, but it’s only every 4 years, never in the local because they say those are the “small” elections!!

HST, that article could not have come at a better time. She’s getting upset at me for asking questions, and I’m not understanding why she won’t answer me. Thanks for a little insight.

“Did it make you lose a bit of respect for them inside?” – I’m torn looking for the right word! It’s not respect.

kimmie ~ I don’t even think I can encourage this person. For one, she won’t talk about her reasons for not voting. I’ve taken this personally that she doesn’t vote, probably because I know the hard fight that was fought and also because each generation should never forget about the fight. It is monumental, but now I have to realize it’s not monumental for everyone!

We have t remember, even when the hard fight was going on, black Sunday, the Mississippi boys the marches etc, there were some that were sitting at home saying they’re crazy for being out there anyway, I don’t want to vote!! the only thing that’s changed is the dates!!

On Ricky Smiley’s radio show yesterday, he had some exherts of some speeches by ML King alternating with some clips of some of the Prez’s speeches. We Are One by Franky Beverly was playing in the background. He had just finished talking to the Prez on the phone.

It was touching, brought tears to my eyes.

I love my heels but I make sure my heels are comfortable. I’m not walking around in any shoe that’s not comfortable. heck, every athletic shoe, sandal or flip flop isn’t comfortable. you gotta find the shoe that works for you.

S/H – I like have people have topics of discussion to avoid. I’m all for it with the general population but when it comes to friends and family, as far as I’m concerned, it’s all fair game. worst case scenario, we disagree (call each other names) and get past it.

Bloggers, I went to Starbucks, and I’m catching up on this page now…

Single & Happy, I prefer a woman in heels, and I may be some of the problem with my GF. I spoiled her with heel couture, and would tell her quitters didn’t wear heels. However, only recently did she proclaim and show her discomfort. I never knew, you know like when a woman farts, or what happens when they’re in the bathroom.

A big high-five to Buckshot! Heels and a naked woman is nice…

Leggs, one of the fox-body’s faults is rust. It’s very rare to find examples that aren’t with rust, and haven’t had hard miles. When you see an unusually nice paint job, and completely straight body it’s most likely because it has had work done to it. These cars weren’t exactly put together too nicely from the factory. Also, emissions could be a huge issue… 78K isn’t that bad, but you saw what I was saying about value.

I have to agree with the consensus out here, if we/us/I have to explain the importance of voting, then whomever we’re explaining it to has already missed the bus.
