My friend Seth has a photography business. Every time he meets someone new, he invites them to accompany him on one of his gigs. He feels that whomever he is with has to enjoy photography as much as he does. He even wants his woman to help him build his business and take it to the next level.
I am always bothered by this being an absolute deal breaker. I tell him all the time that his Ms. Right may not have any interest at all in photography. Does that really mean you can’t be happy with her? I do agree that it is important to share common interests. I also believe that when you care about someone, you should be willing to share their passion. At the very least, you should support it. The question is – would you be willing to reciprocate?
My friend Seth never considered that the woman he meets may have her own business, dreams, or aspirations that he could support. I don’t know if all men are like this, but I seem to meet a lot of men that think that way. They have expectations of women but don’t seem to be prepared to offer the same thing back.
Is it important to you that you have a partner who shares the same interests or hobbies? Would it bother you if the person you were dating did not seem to be into the things you liked to do?

Good morning Comon. I’m doing good..been a little busy in the lab and writing a concept paper & protocol for a project I’m working on. I’ve been pushed out of my scientific comfort zone and liking what I see.
I can’t complain…I refuse to. How you doin?

Howya doin’?????
SINGLE….I am Black and I enjoy both of those. The only thing is…since I am asthmatic, no one will certify me. So snorkeling is as close as I can get:-( I also enjoy real haunted houses, cemetery tours and studying serial killers. Although I find it hard to find Black men that are in to these things as well! ! LMAO…I’m just frackin’ with ya!
EXILED….such a sexist! What makes you think that she will spend his money. In some cases…the female is the one earning the most money. “COMON…I’m using you as an example girl.” I am pretty sure she has her own money to spend. So should she make her hubby come see her in court when she is ball bustin’? LMAO
ENIGMA….I call BS on your 8:45 post. It not the job of one to impress the other. I’m just going to be me. So if he doesn’t appreciate it..screw him. You both have to impress each other! I do not live me life like it’s some hame show and I am a contestant with the prize being a man! It’s NOT the serious boo boo! It’s too much work to keep up the “representative” roll whether you are a man or woman. I want the real man…not the fake person trying to lure me in and then drop the “here I’m iz really” bomb. I will have NO problem dropping his @$$ like soap in a men’s prison..except I will keep my back to the wall! LMAO
I’m all for sharing my passions (such as performing: singing, dancing or acting) with my sweetie. But I will not force it on him. I would expect the same respect. I’m willing to at least try it out at least once though. I would not expect him to help make my dance costumes…it’ s side business and a passion. But it’s mine…not his!
SASSY…stop trying to assinate that man with puddy! At least make sure you get the life insurance policy in your name as the beneficary first! LMAO

Leggs~ Amen to that! Our firm only does gifts on an attorney by attorney basis. So if you work for a cheap attorney (and a lot of them are) then you are just azz out. I personally take care of my favorite paralegals so that they will do my stuff first. Gotta spend money to make money.

CC – I’ve worked with those that give great gifts (I’m still using a gifted ipod classic I received several years ago) and I’ve worked with those that don’t give gifts. actually, I don’t have a preference. I’ll take a gift but I’m not pressed. I worked one place where they just partied, gifted, celebrated too much for me. it was annoying as heck. bridal showers, baby showers (not just for female employees but for spouses of male employees), graduation parties, retirement parties, they let folks bring their kids to the office to trick or treat. they were doing too much.

DISCO…I do like to bite as well…but not the jewels
COMON…girl we went to a Serial Killers haunted house about 2 weeks ago. It was cool. Each scene/room you went through had reinactments of the most infamous killers…Jack the Ripper,Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy, etc. Wayne Gacey scared me because he was about 6′5 dressed like a clown. I have been not a fan of clowns (including Ronald McDonald) ever since birth. I’m addicted to the ID channel. Nothing but story of crazy @$$ folks! lol

Ridgeway and Bundy are still favorites.
Yeah with Halloween this month they’ve been profiling all sorts of people….last night I watched this show on cults(Jim Jones/Jonestown, Manson, etc.) and it was pretty good. When they showed the footage and aired audio from the mass suicide it really made me think and wonder how those people felt(the ones that survived, lost families, felt jaded by Jones, etc.)
Then I watched “Twilight”….again. Don’t judge me
