Have you ever had a really great introduction or first date with someone and felt a strong connection? You can literally sense the attraction and feel the chemistry spark. If you had to place a bet, the odds of hearing from them again were in your favor! Then nothing happens…ever.
It is SO frustrating but it actually happens a lot. People flirt, mix and mingle all the time. You won’t always have what you feel reciprocated, and you can’t take that personally.
Think about the last time you met someone and immediately realized they were not a good match for you. What was it that made you think that they were better suited for somebody else?
When was the last time you met someone or had a first date – but decided not to pursue it?
I heard a guy say that he refused to ask for a second date because the woman’s car was a mess inside and out. That made me wonder if our reasons are always valid? How can know for sure that you aren’t being too critical, picky, or judgmental?
Do you know why someone lost interest in you? Does it really matter to you or do you just “charge it to the game” and move on?

Afternoon all,
Topic- I’ve never been into dating per se so the 2nd date question I can’t really answer. Most of my 1st dates were after already knowing the chick so it merely was just a formality. Even real 1st dates I didn’t put much emphasis on them. I did have an agenda but it was really simple. All I wanted was a good time/conversation and/or some puddy.

disco – The friend I was talking about above had the nerve to ask me to clean up on the sly. When we first got to be buddies, we worked at the same company and she lived literally within walking distance of my apt. She quit the company and started an in-home daycare. She had an entired seperate area in the basement where she ran the daycare. I used to come by sometime and help her pick up the toys and such. She had one or 2 kids that she kept after hours so she would bring them upstairs and if I was there I would help pick up after them upstairs. When we ate I would help clean up the kitchen, help load the dishwasher, put up dishes, etc. But that was just out of the goodness of my heart and I was sitting around talking so I would pitch in. She stopped the daycare and went back to work after the divorce. At that point I’m not cleaning up after a grown A woman!

kimmie – you did good to do as much as you did. I don’t clean up after folks who can clean up after themselves (especially grown folks). just not in me to do. now if a friend just had a baby, had a death in the family, something like that then I’ll go over and help out. if a friend is just nasty I’ll just own that I have a nasty friend. I’ll sit there and shoot the breeze, watch tv, whatever. won’t be the first time I’ve spent time in a nasty house. I’ve worked with chicks who clean up their boss’ office. that’s never been my thing. I had one boss who would have a dozen coke cans lying around his office. I guess the assistant before me went in and threw them out. not me. the mess don’t bother you, the mess don’t bother me.

Mamba I meet an online ex once that when we meet it was like someone peed on the fire, but since we were spending the weekend together, it went from pee to gasoline (LOL) Sometimes people expectations are too high when it comes to online dating because they’ve built this image in there head, and it’s hard for someone to live up to that.
Kimmie as you stated you bring your A game to everything you do, so you don’t feel the need to step up your game. Unfortunately everyone doesn’t

On-Topic~ I think it’s all already been said.
Nasty car/house? No can do. And I don’t buy that “I have kids” argument. Beyotch! Me too! But you don’t see my house or car all nasty. I agree with swiss, if your house/car is that nasty, what must your genitals be like?

Willie D — I don’t think it’s going to be that close in points. I’m afraid this has the potential to be an epic blowout — which is saying something by this game’s standards. Our defense is soft & undisciplined, and now there’s public finger-pointing. Honestly, if we get blown out (the way I’m afraid we will) in this game, then I’d almost prefer we just totally collapse & lose the rest of them, too, so that maybe there would be a chance for a coaching change. I don’t think we’ll ever be any better than mediocre with the current staff.

Comon — He is a decent coach. And we have a decent team. But we’ll never be more than decent with Richt at the helm, I’m afraid. Our team is soft. And it has been for at least the past 6 or 7 years. Which is why every time we’ve faced an opponent who matched us in talent in that span, we’ve lost. That’s on the coach.

“Even with everything you mentioned I can see the opposite effect of bringing the dogs together for an upset.”
Willie D — Yeah, that’s what my heart is telling me. I mean, we do have the personnel to win this game. But I have absolutely zero confidence in our coaches ability to have the team focused and ready to play tough — physically and mentally.

Comon — Oh, don’t get me wrong, I know we could certainly end up in worse shape with someone different. But at least with someone different there’s a chance things could change for the better. With Richt, we know exactly what we’ll get — around 10 wins, but none of the ones that really matter.

DISCO…yes, she would always blame her little boy. I was like…”nah heffa, that’s all you. Your son is just copying what he sees.” I went to use her bathroom one time (hovering of course) and her friggin’ panties were on the floor. So of course I called her out on it. This chick actually told me she was rushing that morning and didn’t have time! WTF??? It takes 2 seconds to pick them up and put them on the hamper. I called her a dirty trick. I know….I’m filterless!
KIMMIE…sounds like your friend met her match!
SINGLE…I do believe the expectations are too high sometimes. It’s strange…when I first met my current guy, we clicked, but because I LOVE tall men, it was holding me back. So after kicking my own @$$…I realized that I need to let the height thing go. He was handsome, intelligent and was a gentleman who treated me nice. Needless to say…so far, I am glad that I made that decision. “Physicality is a technicality!” (Don’t ya’ll go stealin’ my ish either)
COMON…yeah I read about that shooting this morning. WTH man? People have gone straight ca-ra-zy! Insanity never goes out of style. Hence the reaosn I am back in college for Forensic Psychology. I can get paid off these fools!

S/H — I hate to agree with a Bammer, but I totally agree with you. And it’s not just the fact that we lose the games that matter — it’s the way we lose them. We get pushed around. Cocky doesn’t have better athletes that we do. But they sure as hell have a tougher team than we do. And that’s unacceptable.

COMON…that was straight up focused and premeditated….6 times??? He had to make sure he did not miss or give him a chance of survival. If I was in charge of firing someone..I’d be worried of this kind of retaliation, and be looking over my shoulder. In this economy to lose a job can take a toll on you. It’s not before when you could just go get another one next week.

disco ~ that is the worst, to know your house is dirty then ask relative’s children to clean it when they come for a visit…that is low down.
“If a chick’s car and/or house is nasty, what must her puddy be like? ” = No correlation, but made me think of a male coworker who used to say, “a butt that big has to be dirty cuz no way she can get into all those crevices!” That’s where my mind went….

Furthermore, the hubs has (by way of giving me the blame, lol) made ol girl stop calling him. He told her that his wife was really jealous and didn’t like her calling so she needed to only call him if it was work related.
