Awful girlfriends make terrible wives?

I found out another test that men like to give the women they date, it’s called the Sick Test, i.e. does she take care of me when I am sick. My friend LC said he happened to catch a nasty cold last week. Ah, but he wasn’t too weak to observe how his new girlfriend was going to handle his illness. He wondered, would she pass or fail?

Unfortunately, she didn’t seem all that concerned about him. She even steered clear of him for a few days because she “could not risk picking up his bug” this week (Ouch?). She still has not come by, only sending him occasional text messages to make sure he is still breathing.

I found it rather funny because I don’t approve of giving people relationship tests. LB ended up getting his feelings hurt and now he is questioning what kind of wife his girlfriend would make!

I think he is being utterly ridiculous but maybe I’m just taking up for his lady friend because I think she’s great for him. Do you think someone who has shown bad girlfriend/boyfriend behavior would make awful marriage partners?

Have you ever second-guessed your dating relationship after seeing something that would probably be too hard to deal with in a marriage?

nowadays most people come to expect things when you do them, the problem is they don’t do them in return

SH – SHAZAM!

I remember a while ago, the beau had a little fender bender in a parking lot. He called me as I was on my way home (Conyers) and of course I was concerned and glad that it was minor with minimal damage to his car. However, don’t you know he copped an attitude with me that I didn’t come over to his house later on? He never once said he was shook up or feeling some kind of way about the accident so how or why do I get the cold shoulder the next day. The reason I knew it had to be related was when I texted him the next morning to see how he was feeling or even if he was sore, the response I got was, “Why do you care?”

Morning, folks.

On topic: “Do awful girlfriends make awful wives?” Uh, yeah. Duh. And on the subject of tests, let’s be real — dating is a test in itself. What is dating other that trying to figure out if this is a person you’d want to be with permanently? In Diva’s example, it’s not like dude made up some fictional circumstance to see how chick would react. He got sick. He observed her behavior. Period. Now, he probably needs his man card suspended for being a whiny little b!tch, but he apparently wants to be babied and he simply observed that this chick isn’t having it. If he decides she’s not for him because of that, what’s the problem?

I was like oh heck naw. lol. I rarely get sick. I’m talking like a cold every 8 or 9 years. I don’t have time for someone who is constantly ailing.

leggs – wow. cane river is about 10 years old or so. I remember because I bought a paperback copy in the Cleveland airport. remember yesterday I said I was hardpressed to pay “newsstand” prices? lol. it’s a very good book though. you’ll definitely be caught up in it.

The Obama health care bill under Sec. 2521, page 1,000 will establish a National Medical Device Registry. What does a National Medical Device Registry mean?

National Medical Device Registry from H.R. 3200 [Healthcare Bill], pages 1,001-1,008:
(g)(1) The Secretary shall establish a national medical device registry (in this subsection referred to as the ‘registry’) to facilitate analysis of postmarket safety and outcomes data on each device that— ‘‘(A) is or has been used in or on a patient; ‘‘(B)and is— ‘‘(i) a class III device; or ‘‘(ii) a class II device that is implantable, life-supporting, or life-sustaining.”

Being an older woman while I was dating I stayed clear of men with health issues. A simple cold or flu I can handle but, other things like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholestoral and such is a heavy burden to take on while dating because of the constant reminder of all the limits that person has especially when it comes to eating and stress level. I know most of the above listed is not subjected to just older folks.

This issue with Obama and Romney only paying so little is that they are constantly raising the taxes on people who make less money than them. If we went to a flat tax or fair tax system, I wouldn’t care how much anyone else made. But when people are paying up to 45% and making exponetially less than the people who are paying 13-19%, that’s an issue.

By no means am I saying that people who make more should pay more; I don’t believe that. But a flat tax would make everyone pay their fair share.

Comon — A flat tax could only truly be fair if baseline, essential living expenses also operated as a percentage of your income. But, of course, they don’t. So, someone who’s spending every penny they earn just to put a very basic roof over their head and food on their table feels that 10% (or 15% or whatever) tax rate exponentially more that someone making millions, who can afford to provide for themselves very comfortably and still have plenty of disposable cash left over after the basic needs are met (and exceeded).

Swiss with you on that, it’s just like getting a flat raise at work, someone is still unhappy. If it’s a percentage raise the people on the low end are unhappy because the people on the high end got more of a amount. if it’s a set amount the people on the high end are upset because the people on the low end got more of a percentage. Now matter what you do, you will never ever make everyone happy!!
