Awful girlfriends make terrible wives?

I found out another test that men like to give the women they date, it’s called the Sick Test, i.e. does she take care of me when I am sick. My friend LC said he happened to catch a nasty cold last week. Ah, but he wasn’t too weak to observe how his new girlfriend was going to handle his illness. He wondered, would she pass or fail?

Unfortunately, she didn’t seem all that concerned about him. She even steered clear of him for a few days because she “could not risk picking up his bug” this week (Ouch?). She still has not come by, only sending him occasional text messages to make sure he is still breathing.

I found it rather funny because I don’t approve of giving people relationship tests. LB ended up getting his feelings hurt and now he is questioning what kind of wife his girlfriend would make!

I think he is being utterly ridiculous but maybe I’m just taking up for his lady friend because I think she’s great for him. Do you think someone who has shown bad girlfriend/boyfriend behavior would make awful marriage partners?

Have you ever second-guessed your dating relationship after seeing something that would probably be too hard to deal with in a marriage?

“On a serious note, I tend to fall into the “mother hen” category when an SO is sick. Making sure he has the right medicine, making him soup, getttng his comfy socks and pjs, etc, etc. But I don’t think it’s wrong for this woman to not want to expose herself to the flu/cold, etc. What I think is wrong is him assuming that she’s flawed because of her decision.”

so let’s say she passed the sick test.
You know, showed up front and center complete with the candy striper nurse outfit and all kinds of remedy’s to make his illness go away. Things like soup, meds, favorite snacks, fluffs pillow, etc… and then a week later she’s dumped over some BS.
Is the test really worth it or necessary?

I mean , most mean with a pulse put you in two categories within 15 minutes of meeting you
Wife or Garden tool.

Any additional tests after that are pretty unnecesary

O/T~ I had to put on my poker face at the grocery store this morning. I was in the express lane with 16 items. In my defense, there was no one in the line when I went there, but as SOON as I got over there, 2 people came behind me that had like 1-2 things.

Off Subject – Is anybody watching the Presidential Debate tonite?

In the 1st debate President Obama used the ropes and allowed Romney to punch himself out. This “strategy” is known as “Rope-A-Dope”. During the 2nd debate President Obama will “float like a butterfly and sting like a bee” knocking Mr. Romney and the GOP right out the ring. Does anybody on this site remember Ali-Forman? History will repeat itself again…….

Robert I can hardly wait to watch this next bout. I like Romney as a person per se but not as POTUS, don’t care about his tax returns what makes me leary of him is his lack of talking specifics. Most people already know what his specifics are he’s not saying and holding on to them.

Have you ever second-guessed your dating relationship after seeing something that would probably be too hard to deal with in a marriage?
absolutely! s/o’s jealousy and need for constant companionship and communication is the one thing that tries my patience more than any other. i cringe every time i think about living with that on a daily basis.

i am not a fan of either party being “tested”. personally, i’m not going to be AS great a gf as i am a wife. nor would i hold a bf to QUITE the same expectation as my hubs.

there. i’ve said my piece. now lemme see what everybody else is saying.

Not watching the debate because I have already decided where my vote will be cast. I never understood the purpose of the debates. Realistically, the people who watch them have already decided who they are going to vote for and the people who are undecided don’t tend to watch debates. My only guess is that they are for entertainment value.

@disco: I thought of you last night. I was watching a profile of Ed Gein on the Bio channel. He was a grave robber and serial killer (in the 1950s) who made “clothing” from his victims’ body parts. Turns out, he was the inspiration for Leatherface in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs. Interesting, no?

Did you see my post that I had ordered Divided Sisters?

Sick test…wow…that’s one of the dumbest things I’ve heard. Maybe chick has a lot going on and can’t afford to get sick. If we are serious, I may bring you some things and will check on you often, but I’ll probably drop stuff and run. I’m one who doesn’t have time to get sick. If it’s the flu, I ain’t taking a chance either. I have asthma and if I get the flu or bronchitis, there is a chance I will end up in the hospital. I would hope dude would understand that…

Yes single, I said it
what a lot of peole do not realize it that the people that pumped money into Romney and Obama decide who becomes president. Not the average voter.

If you dig deep and research Obama’s and Romney’s policies- they are one in the same.

S/H~ My issue with the tax rreturn thing is that we are quabbling over small numbers. Romney paid 13% and Obama paid 19%, I believe. Either way, both of them made a Hell of a lot more money than anyone on this blog and paid less taxes on their money. IJS…

@Blackfoote – It really amazes me when a select few can dictate the outcome of any event (Polls, newspapers, etc.). Clearly, President Obama’s “strategy” is to lure Mr. Romney into the center of the ring and knock him out. If the GOP was the WBC or WBO Romney would be a journey man boxer and not ranked in the top 10. Just remember Romney was not the GOP favorite. Palin, Cain, etc., were the early favorites but where exposed for their lifestyle choices.
