Do men notice all the glam?

If men ever got a glimpse of our pre-date rituals, they would see all the work that some women put into looking good. It’s shower, shave, hair, outfit preparation…listen, you best believe we are ready to impress!

The irony is that when the men actually see us for the first time, we aren’t all super fabulous! I always joke that society tells us that single chicks don’t get days off. We don’t get to leave the house in sweats and a ponytail because that would mean we’ve given up on finding love! Or something, equally annoying reason women can’t be dressed down. That is when some women get the most attention, though! Explain that?

I don’t know if men notice all the extra trimmings women add on to enhance their beauty. I am not even sure women are only doing it for male attention, either.

If a guy spots someone attractive and she is dressed down, no makeup, looking au naturel, is he disappointed to see all the make up and the glam on date night?

Ladies, are you approached more when you are dressed to the nines or casual and comfortable?

Men, what do you think of makeup, hair, and all the extra things women do to look more attractive? Is there a limit to it? When is it too much?

Happy Friday!

Bluz ~ you have told us time and time again, that you and beer do not get along. A few beers may lead you to Phillips Arena. I believe Disney is in town…be careful (lolol).

Robert ~ that list definitely will not prevent a child from getting tatted.

@Leggs – My list worked on my child because I am involved in her life and she respects my opinions. As a concerned Father I always balance love, patience and fear. Children react to knowing the consequences of their actions. When they become young adults they remember and would rather not face the consequences. Teach your child and they will conform to society rather than be lost in a world that is unforgiving.

I recently had a conversation with my pre-teen daughter about tattoos. It went like this:
Daddy I want a tattoo.
Only idiots get tattoos
You have some
Daddy is an idiot.
Daddy, Imma get my belly button pierced.
And Imma beat the black off you!
Aunti Nikki got one.
She’s an idiot.
Daddy, she has a Undergraduate degree in Micro Biology and a Masters in Chemistry.
Go to your room.

Dushawn, I see you have a very smart daughter (LOL)

When they are children, you should lead them in the right direction but allow them to have some freedoms. When they become adults it up to them to find the right direction for themselves.

I said and I will say it again I don’t care who has or want to get a tattoo. That’s their business and it doesn’t affect me one tiny bit. My dad has tattoo’s that didn’t make me want one, he wore earings still that didn’t make me want to wear earings, but if somebody else want to adorn themself fine don’t ask me for my opinion because I don’t care.

LOL Leggs!!! That is pretty funny, I must admit!

I have a feeling that Robert’s daughter will go hog wild one day soon…

I couldn’t imagine teaching someone to conform to society and not be themselves.

I guess we ran off someone who didn’t like a differing opinion. I think I’ll go cry now…NOT!!!

I’m taking it a little further I’ve dealt with people in prison, hospitals, food banks, the homeless all types of people in all kinds of situsations. From the very wealthy (and I mean Arthur Blank wealthy) to down trotten folks that have nothing to sit on. I got along with each individual without judging, no I’m not an authority on anything but myself and that’s where I keep my balance.

Howdy, Comon. Like I said, my example was purely anecdotal, with a small sampling size, so it certainly doesn’t apply to everyone, I’m sure. But I do think it’s just human nature to make preliminary assumptions about people based on how they present themselves. I wouldn’t say that’s small minded, it’s just a fact of life. Unfortunately, in some cases that initial impression is the only chance you get to make an impression in some circumstances. Hell, when I was in college, everybody thought I was a frat boy. I wasn’t — and, actually, I’m about as far from a frat boy as you can possibly get — but I looked the part, so people made assumptions. It is what it is…

It’s kind of like that Dave Chappelle bit we mentioned the other day — “FINE, you are not a HO. But you ARE wearing a HO’s uniform…”

Robert ~ glad your list worked for your child. Exclusive just for you and her.

From what I’ve gathered on this blog for those of us who are parents, each and every one of us are involved in our children’s lives and daily teach them the pitfalls of life. However, we also know that they have minds of their own and like we all have, will make mistakes. Tattoos, bad boyfriends, wrong friends, etc. We can only hold their hand for so long before they go out in the world and make their own mark. It’s not always going to be with our map in their back pockets.

Leggs I’m guessing but I think it depends on the type of needle they use. I’ve seen some that were raised lettering on the surface of the skin and the traditinal kind that’s flat. Where the least amount of pain occurs I don’t know that one.

Tattoos goes back to the begining of time, tribal people all over the world wore them. But yeah you can tell when they became a fad here because folks wanted to be associated with thug and gangs without being in them. When Tupac showed his thug life tattoo on his stomach in the ninety’s that’s when to me tattoos exploded into the general population and everybody felt they had to have one. Still who ever wants it can have it some are sweet and others dicey but do as you will.

Honestly, I sometimes regret all the tattoos and brands and other reminders of my misguided youth I have put on my body over the years. I can’t even wear a polo type shirt to the office. If my colleagues ever saw my arms and forearms their opinion of me, my abilities and intellect would forever be altered.
Hell, they might schedule another background check and drug screening.

Leggs / Lady — It’s just fun to say “vulva.” C’mon, say it with me… :D

Personally, I think tats on the puddy are just superfluous, and actually kinda distracting. I had an ex who decided to get the Cat in the Hat’s hat — just the hat — right on top of her vajajay. She thought it was super funny — i.e. her “cat” with a hat. I thought it just looked stupid. I felt like I was getting a BJ from Dr. Seuss every time I f__ked her after that.
