My friend JB has a common dating dilemma that happens to the best of us: He has two really great prospects but is having a difficult time deciding which one he should eliminate and which one should get all of his attention.
Things have been pretty casual and laid back, but he knows this won’t last forever. At some point, he has to decide who is more suitable for him.
What do you do if you have two romantic interest and both seem worth the effort? Do you decide based on who you are most physically attracted to? Who you are most compatible with in terms of background, upbringing, values, etc.?
Have you ever been in a situation where you needed to figure out who to pursue and who to let go? How did you decide?
Happy Monday!

Heck, when I was hired, there was no one here to answer all of my questions — I just had to figure sh!t out.
More evidence of the wussification of society.

When I’m training, I have a notepad, a chair and 3 or 4 pens…lol Then I pull up right next/on the person. Wonder if that works their nerves??? I must say though, it’s been a loooooong time since I sat with someone for training. When I landed this position in 2010, I was just tossed in. They looked at my resume and figured I had laid enough ground work and knew the business to get things rolling.

Back on little Miss Suisse Mochette~ Do either of the above dates and place work for anyone else? Bahama Breeze is cool for me and since I think my Jackets are doomed this season and it doesn’t interfere with the Dawgs kickoff time, I am game for one of those weekends.

Honestly, the last time I trained was 1998. I was in that position until 2004. There was an acquisition and they kept 3 of us and let the eniter deparment go. Our new “counterparts” did the same, looked at out background and tossed us in. I was a cash management officer then, and that was sort of my backround prior. But just thinking today, I haven’t “sat” with someone for training since 1998.

Comon — About those NATS of yours… Whew… I generally love it when the bumblebees lose, but d@mn, that was even hard for me to watch. And it wasn’t like tech gave the game away themselves… Middle Tenn. State Finishing School (or whatever it’s called) was just flat out the superior team. They looked bigger, stronger, faster, better coached, you name it.

disco~ I think that hope has died for us this season. IDK what’s going on with the Jackets, but they have made two dubious overtime calls that cost us games and now they got beat by a school that I am halfway sure is a junior college. I feel like Sylvester’s son in the old Looney Toons cartoons. Oh, the shame!

C I feel you on that sink or swim, I have one of those jobs where you’re supposed have experience on most of the things and be able to pick up on the rest, yet we have people that have been here as long as me still talking about I never got training on that.
Well time for me to leave my fake job, with my clear card (LOL) tomorrow peeps.

When you have to make a choice between the person you love and the person who loves you, choose the person who loves you because, you can learn to love someone but, you can not teach someone to love you.

Shaunie~ I must disagree. You can’t “learn to love somebody” You can learn to tolerate somebody, but that would be an awful and unfulfilling relationship IMO.

CC – I agree with you thought I was giving shaunie the benefit of the doubt. I took it to mean “grow to love” as oppose to “learn to love”. of course, I’m not trying to hang around hoping to grow to love either but I’ve heard tell that it happens. lol. I just channeled my grandma with that “I hear tell”.

Swiss thinks he’s got problem. How about a scrambled egg head coworker that can’t ever remember stuff??? We just had to do a conference call cause she’s over committed herself on covering for folks at vacation time and now reniging (sp) saying since she didn’t write it down, she mut not have committed
I had to hold myself. My manager was like we ain’t gonna go there. I almost went.

Good thing though, we met on 2/10/2012 (a quad of us) to work things out and I sent the email to my manager on 2/13/2012 with a snapshot on the calender with her as my backup. I’m anal like that and believe in the CYA or if you said or wrote it, I recorded it policy.

Shaunie~ I don’t expect it to be “even steven”, but I do expect to be in love. You can’t learn to love someone or grow to love someone in a way that will be meaningful and fulfilling. (On both sides) And if you’re keeping score to see if you’re “even steven” then you’re not in love. Truth.

C~ So, therefore she can’t renege. You have a snapshot of the calendar and independent witnesses. Stick it to her, C! I hate wen someone drops something like that on me at the last minute. Attorneys do it all the time. Give you a case file and ask you to cover because tey didn’t file a LOA or Letter of Conflict and they have to be somewhere else. Can’t stand that.

CC – Well, my manager did agree and say “now that’s what I have” but we’ll see. Imma be mad as heck. I initially started out asking the scrambled egghead to cover for me during Thanksgiving as I have a trip (potentially) planned that week to Savannah. If I can get the coverage, I’m going!!!!

I’m not saying I agree with Shaunie, really I didn’t look too deep or give it deep thought. I believe you can grow to love someone but I believe that’s usually circumstances where it’s non-intentional and something you sort of fell into (but that’s the norm right). I think if you meet someone and there’s not that flame or connection and you try and force it, then that’s gonna eventually be a bust. Maybe not in all cases, but the majority for the most.
