The height requirement
Everyone has those little dating preferences when it comes to looks and appearances. We think that what we are attracted to is a personal choice but I often wonder how much is influenced by other things?
Obviously, the idea of beauty and what constitutes attractiveness gets fed to us in many ways. I don’t know if we are always cognizant of how often this happens. This is especially true when it comes to having a height requirement.
Do you think that something like height can really make a difference in being happy with someone? I know of many women who actually believe that they could not make things work with a man who is as tall or shorter than them. It seems, I don’t know, naive?
Of course we all have those physical features we know we don’t want, but do you think that kind of thing matters ultimately?
Height, weight, hair, teeth, are seemingly small things but some of us base dating decisions on them. Is this a maturity thing? Do we ever outgrow the shallow things or do some of us stick to them?

I can’t do New Birth. My sis-in-law attended there before she and my bro got married and I visited once with her. Felt like I needed to find another to church to go to as soon as I left. I feel you on that, WD.

Cel – I spoke to my pops today and he said he’d really like to get face to face with him. We do not want him assuming she does not have an army of family that care about her and my niece. Most women have this stereotype. They want a men over 6 ft tall with large hands and big feet (size 12 and up). They feel this will ensure the man will have a large penis which they think will give them great sex. This is a myth and is not based on facts. Lots of men under 6 ft tall are well endowed and have great relationships. Please read the book and not the cover before you make judgement about a man.
Men have stereotypes about women. For example most men will not date plus-size women or women over 6 ft tall (Amazon’s). I am an equal opportunity lover.

Lady or anybody…I need new khakis for my golf tourney next week. I CANNOT find anywhere. Any ideas? I saw a skirt online yesterday at Ann Taylor but it’s shorter than what I like. It was sooo cute though. Think I’d do okay on the golf course in a skirt?

Good afternoon all! I had to comment on this topic. Yes, height does matter! I’m 6′2″ with no shoes on, so I don’t want to look over the top of anyone’s head. My husband was 6′ tall. I hardly ever wore heels because I didn’t want to tower over him. Of course, character traits (honestly, kindness, etc.) are ultimately more important than physical traits, but I just can’t bring myself to date a short man.

Wow…on a call with my mgr and team. She just said, our team narrowly escaped layoffs. I’m glad (sort of and in this regard), the added another portfolio. Busy means work. Since they moved the ballplayer, I’ve sort of been coasting and chilling. So I know I’m getting throwed back into the game and full swing of work. I probably won’t be able to blog as much cause I’m gonna have double the work I have now.
She’s telling everybody to step up their game and be prepared to take on more.

BTW, the layoffs ain’t just our area, this entire organization has been cutting. There’s a new layout in place and it was annouced last year, a number dropped as to how many folks would get cut. My friend that went back to LA, was cut.

Single – I have let it go – I married a CONFIDENT man that, while isn’t 6 feet, is still taller or as tall as I am when I put on heels! Not only do we get along great and treat each other with respect, we look GOOD together!
I’m sorry it bothers men that a lot of women have a preferance, but it’s just one of those things in life that, depending on what side you’re sitting, may not seem fair. Men feel perfectly justified in saying they have a preference for pretty women, big boobs, nice butts, long legs, not fat or plus-sized women. If all we want is someone a little taller, I don’t see the big deal. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Cream will ALWAYS rise to the top,whatever package it’s wrapped in!
Robert – Oh and height/hand & foot size is not always an indicator of how endowed a guy is either, we ladies are hip to that, trust!

Single – What are the shorties compensating for? In my experience it ran the gamut, and I never understood it. None I dealt with had “endowment” issues, but just lacked confidence in themselves and were not comfortable in their skin. I was with them because I liked them, but it was never enough for them. They had the problem, not me, cause I looked beyond the height to try to get to know the person inside. Some folks get in their own way.
