The height requirement
Everyone has those little dating preferences when it comes to looks and appearances. We think that what we are attracted to is a personal choice but I often wonder how much is influenced by other things?
Obviously, the idea of beauty and what constitutes attractiveness gets fed to us in many ways. I don’t know if we are always cognizant of how often this happens. This is especially true when it comes to having a height requirement.
Do you think that something like height can really make a difference in being happy with someone? I know of many women who actually believe that they could not make things work with a man who is as tall or shorter than them. It seems, I don’t know, naive?
Of course we all have those physical features we know we don’t want, but do you think that kind of thing matters ultimately?
Height, weight, hair, teeth, are seemingly small things but some of us base dating decisions on them. Is this a maturity thing? Do we ever outgrow the shallow things or do some of us stick to them?

Disco, when I was looking at cruises for a split second, they still wanted to charge double occupancy even if you were traveling alone. once I went to an Island and enjoyed all the things that it had to offer, I was hooked, never to cruise if I could help it.

MsAtl~ I would assume you meant what is my limit. My limit would be about 5′6. And at 5′6, dude would have to be so spectacular that height and the thought of never wearing heels again wouldn’t matter.

CC – nothing really. just itching to go somewhere. earlier in the summer I had got some travel info from Toronto when I thought we were going to ditch the family reunion (reunion in NW PA so driving into Canada isn’t a big deal). turns out I skipped the reunion but kept the travel brochures. looks like there’s enough going on there. if I couldn’t make it happen in October I would have to put it off. I’m not a fan of wintertime weather.

Sorry I stepped out for a few…yeah she is at her wits end and is ready to abandoned the whole situation. My concern is how he’ll act after it all blows up. My mom are all on my niece so I know she’ll be okay. I’m just glad it’s happening sooner rather than later because I think he was trying to get her preggo too. She said she was secretly taking birth control.

MsAtl~ I am a CJ major as well and I went to law school too. Where did you go and are you in practice now? It didn’t cure me of the school bug, strangely enough. I am thinking about going back to the the LLM. (Although it is only thinking at this point) LOL!

Afternoon Blog Gang!!
On topic – I’m barely reaching 5′5″, but when I was dating I seemed to be a short magnet! I tried to give them a chance, but (sorry Albert) the Napoleon complex would rear it’s ugly head eventually! I just cannot deal with a man that is not confident or comfortable in their own skin. I would try to be open minded, but they themselves would sabotage things. Hubs is 5′10″ and built nice, so that’s all good!
Slim – I am so thankful your sis got a chance to reach out to you & her family! Prayers that all goes well for her and her daughter as they leave his behind!!

kimmie – He was saying he would not have anything to do with my niece if she didn’t have his last name. I hope that statement alone hurt her enough to want to kick him to the curb. She had started the process to change her name but eventually cancelled the request before it was actioned. I guess he was wondering what was taking so long for the confirmation paperwork to come in the mail, that he brought it up recently.

speaking of honey boo boo. I’m not familiar with this honey boo boo character other than I keep hearing the term. yesterday on the radio they were talking about it/her/whatever and someone mentioned not getting what the hype was. the other person said that the first person needed to “red-neck-ignize”. The finale was last night and basically they are a good ole fashion country/redneck family fully equipped with farts, burps, obesity, tobacco chewing, no teeth brushing, pet pig having, mud diving fun

Slim – Dude is a punk…for real. Any dude that will marry on top of marrying (and all the other punkish stuff punks do), I can bet he’s more bark than bite.
