Dating: Ready to meet the kids?

One of our readers has been seeing a woman for about 8 months and things are getting serious. The woman he is seeing has decided that she feels comfortable enough to introduce him to her children. He has none and is actually “not that great” with kids.

He wants help in figuring out if he is ready to meet the kids. How do you know when it is time to introduce your kids to your date? Should there be a serious and exclusive relationship before you bring your kids around the person you are dating?

What should you do if you aren’t “kid friendly” but you really want things to go well?

Do you think dating a single parent is harder when you don’t have kids too?

“Should there be a serious and exclusive relationship before you bring your kids around the person you are dating? ”

Yes, the relationship should be “serious” before you bring the kids into the picture. As a Man I would never introduce my children who are adults to anyone I am not “serious” about. If I had minor children I would be especially careful. Some men do not know what is appropiate and inappropiate behavior when it comes to dating. For example I have a female friend who brought a new date home for the Thanks Giving holiday. She only knew the guy for a couple of weeks. She has 3 very nice looking daughters and her date tried to molest her oldest daughter (17 yrs old). She was out of her mind with grief for a long time because of the decision she made that caused harm to her daughter. I hope all women/men on this site use common sense when it comes to family and relationships.

As long as my kids are in school, they’re free to live in my house!
Graduate school included!

Once they step outta school or want to quick march themselves into life without the necessary skills against my advice, they’re on their own..Out!

And my home is the Ultimate security for my kids, recession or no recession, thru life’s struggles.

When they are down,I expect them to have the security of coming to lay and be comfortated by us,the parents.

Parent = security!

My patents(mama) does the same for us.

Do I sound like a mama’s boy?!

“So, if you don’t believe in God, what do you believe in?”

Comon — Lots of things. In general, I believe in things for which there is convincing evidence.

For the record, I’m not purely atheist. I don’t totally discount the possibility that there could be some sort of higher power. But if there is some sort of higher power, I’m confident it looks nothing like what is presented in religious dogma.

I had heard that the replay officials are not replacements…anyone know?

i'm swiss

September 25th, 2012

Bluz — The problem w/ replay in that case is that the question of who had possession of the ball is not review-able. Nor is the missed offensive pass interference. The only thing replay could be used to determine is whether there was or was not a catch — i.e. whether the ball hit the ground.

Blackfoote: The Real Blackfoote

Bluz no the replay officials are not replacements, and they still got the call wrong.

Also, in the NFL, there aren’t replay “officials.” There is staff in the booth who coordinates getting the replay looks available, but it’s still the head umpire on the field who looks at the replay & makes the ruling. Only in college to they have separate officials in the booth who make the calls on replay.

Did you hear that he is now also being charged with attempted rape of a third woman?

Whatdahell?!?!?

swiss~ I don’t disagree that the “higher power” probably does not resemble the current religious dogma, but IDK how someone could go through the process of having a baby and see what you have seen and still say there is no God. The amount of precise timing that is required to make sure a baby is born healthy and fully formed is AMAZING. I simply do not believe that is circumstance or coincidence. And science has failed to be able to explain many aspects of it. Kind of like creation. IJS…

“And science has failed to be able to explain many aspects of it.”

For thousands of years, science failed to explain why the sun rose in the east and set in the west. But that doesn’t mean that the earth is flat. Just took time to uncover the needed evidence.

I guess for me, I’m just more comfortable saying “I don’t know” to the unexplained questions of life than accepting an explanation that makes no sense to me and for which there is not only no evidence, but in many cases, evidence to the contrary.

“I wouldn’t even say that’s a white people problem…that’s just a stupid people problem!”

Bluz — Okay, so let’s call it a #stupidwhitepeopleproblem. You have to admit, though, you’re not going to find any other group besides our people shooting alcohol up their nether regions so they can bypass the liver and get more drunk.
