Put the man in Romance!
I have a friend who has admitted that she is romantically challenged. She has NO idea how to be romantic with her guy. The relationship is new so he has spent most of the time and effort in romancing her. Now she is eager to reciprocate – and if not the same degree of romance, something very close.
So far he has surprised her with tickets to a play, made a picnic for them inside his living room when the weather didn’t cooperate. He even took her car to be cleaned! The man is a keeper, ya’ll! He needs to be pampered and doted on just as much. So what do men consider romantic gestures? (You know the sexy things they enjoy doing before we get naked??)
What are the best ways to romance a man who has been so romantic in his own efforts? Should women feel pressure or obligation to match the same level of romance?

For Real:
What do you expect? After all, i disclosed that I was a Big Kim Fields fan. She was in two episodes of Good Times while Kim’s real life mom (Chip Fields) played Penny’s (janet jackson) abusive mom.
Speaking of Good Times, I know that the producers were making a point with an episode where a neighbor bring meatloaf to dinner after it was discovered that she ate canned dog food. But JJ’s grace starting out with “The Lord is my German Shepherd….” Still kinda makes me laugh when I see it.
The sad thing is that many of the issues involved make Good Time relevant today.

PG – kim fields is one of those folks who was just always pretty. sort of like nia long if you’ve ever seen childhood photos of her. they were cute kids and pretty adults. you know some kids have to grow into their cute or some start of cute and grow up a hot mess.

The sad thing is that many of the issues involved make Good Time relevant today.
I’ve noticed the same thing as well…all these years later and the struggle is still the same with the exception of one thing…we finally did get a Black POTUS.

Bounce is available as long as you have a digital antenna. At least here in Atlanta. It is a station that is partly owned by Rev. Andrew Young. You don’t have to have cable to see old episodes of Soul Train, That my momma, etc. It is on Bounce.

i didn’t get to see episodes of good times (or the jeffersons) until it was in reruns. some time in the mid-80s when i moved back stateside. i just took it for pure comedy cuz i couldn’t relate to the actual issues.

Same here, but my dad also introduced me to Jayne Kennedy at that time.
Then in the 80s I found out more about Pam and Jayne after a trip to the video store. Back in the 80s they had a room in back for the adult films to be checked out.

CC – does that not burn you up? went through it recently with ATT re internet. I told them what I was willing to pay. didn’t care what they had available. this is what I’m willing to pay, what can you do for me? well they promised me what I was willing to pay but it took 3 months of calling/getting a credit before they finally got the billing statement right. irksome.

As for Willona – I always thought that it was cool that she song the theme to the Jeffersons. Norman Lear kept it in the family. There was always a link between his shows: Maude (Good times was a spinoff), All in the Family (Jeffersons were a spinoff) . There were others.
