I don’t know what its like to be single and male, but I can tell you being single and female definitely comes with pressure. The older you get *cough* the more people look at you and start to comment on why you aren’t married, how to fix it, and telling you that you have something left to do in life.
I have never heard of any of my guy friends talk of the same kinds of pressure to be someone’s husband, though. Some of them comment about feeling the need or pressure to have kids, but not necessarily with a wife. Do men feel pressure from family, friends, or even society to get married?
Do you think that there are actual marriages that are a result of “pressure” from everyone else to be married? How do you think that impacts the health of the marriage?
Would you consider dating and marrying someone simply because you feel you should be dating and marrying?
Happy Monday!

@Lady: I saw your Giants got it done on Sunday.
And skimming over, it looks like the birds may have already been discussed, but congrats to the Falcons.

I really wish I could be like some of my friends though… they get divorced one month and marry again in the next month. I was trying to get married just one time and some of them are already on their 4th marriage.. What’s the secret? Does anyone know? @In the light how did I take sad to a new level? I really do want to see what a wedding dress will look like on me before I am too old and gassey to try one on.

sassy, in that vane, kinda hard for me to choose chocolate over salsa; so i go with the more fiery personality. i have little patience for the OVERLY timid types.
speaking of yum-yum; any bloggers venture out to the taste of the food trucks saturday? luved it!

ThirdWheel – The time for getting in a wedding dress is when the time is right for you. As you can look around society and see, nothing is the norm anymore. If it’s 50 and you feel like it, go for it. A lady blogged here one morning and I believe she said she was 62. She had a pretty nice post. I can’t say I’ll be looking for love at 62 but hey whatever floats your boat.

ITL – I just looked it up. nearest popeye’s to me is 75 miles. I’d go home and cook some before I’d drive 75 miles for theirs. lol.

@Common well I have a friend who just got divorced two months ago and she is already planning a wedding for next year with her new boyfriend. She was married to her hubsand for at least 15 years so they loved each other. I just wish I know what the secret was to dumping someone finding someone else and getting married so quickly. Women are struggling to get married one time. I still live with my ex who would marry me tomorrow but why whould I do that to myself??

Popeyes and KFC, the old “new” Krogers on Atlanta Road, is where I get chicken if I’m not trying to fry it up myself. I can’t do Publix chicken. The pieces are so big, that they look like pterodactyl…lol

Sassy – I agree there. Hopefully that’s the wake-up call she needed. I believe it will help her have a better outlook on her behavior overall, not just the issue with Ocho. It is unfortunate that this sort of drama has to play but I agree too, money of the bottom line.
I was looking at Oprah’s Twitter page and it seems she was have a convo with Iyanla Vanzant and her special with Evelyn? I couldn’t find anything else on it. I would love to see that interview. They made mentioned of her having the “tough talk” with Evelyn. If what I gathered was true, that’s progress.

If I had to, it would be a WJ. Cannot eat a Whooper…ugh Chickfila, I’ll take chicken salad sandwich over their chicfila sandwich, even though I like the fried chicken sandwich. Celi I was talking about Jennifer…not Evelyn. Have you ever seen Jen’s soon to be exhusband? That’s where the “lil lump lump” phrase came from…dude looks like an alien experiment in reproduction that went wrong somewhere…
Speaking on Iyanla..I wonder what she can do for Evelyn…from what I understand both she and her mom were on the show. Still, had she not gotten head butted she’d still be the loud, crass bully she likes to be. Now she’s the victim and she’s playing that to the hilt. I don’t condone domestic violence but those two were an accident waiting to happen and it did…
