Dating: Step your game up

When you find yourself stuck in a dating rut, you probably don’t even realize that you have started to let things slip. Your efforts become less then enthusiastic. You start going through the motions. This is the best time to take a break from dating and focus on something else.

The dating scene in Atlanta is all about image and personality. You want to be able to stand out and make a connection with someone you find attractive. If you are not into it, it definitely comes across as aloof, uninterested, or obnoxious. Sometimes we have to step our game up and become a little more sharp!

Do you ever feel as if you are in a dating rut? What are ways to break out of it?

What are some ways to step your dating game up in flirting, mingling, or approaching someone you are interested in?

Happy Friday!

there are some who are only happy until the newness wears off.

SH – That’s a good question and I will ask her that the next time we have a convo.

CC – I can see how a regular routine could leave you feeling like something is missing. So in that case, my suggestion was to start doing things, planning things to look forward to. Take some time off work and get out of town. Your life is not going to change by sitting idly by doing nothing but falling more and more into a rut. And you have to take the reigns of your own happiness…no one else can do that for you because like SH said, once that new car smell is gone, then you’re back at the ranch tombout yo ass aint’ happy

Blackfoote – You gotta be on it. I’ve had folks to make a statement and drop a word, seeing if you’ll catch it. Subliminal games…lol You don’t have to always addressg but you certainly need to pay attention to catch it.

all I’m saying is that I use the word game quite a bit. lol. it doesn’t always have anything to do with playing games although it can. you about to be interrogated? put your game face on. interviewing for a job? bring your A game. sorry, worthless somebody with a pretty smile trying to sweet talk you, you might want to recognize the game.

Slim1 what I would do for your friend is take her somewhere she never thought she would go. Naw not talking about fancy trips out the country a Monster truck show, Price Is Right show (I’m going next month at the Fox) seriously a lady with all the trimmings don’t need material stuff. Excitement from the right person will spark her up again.

I was planning on just lurking today, but I have to respond to Slim…

Slim – maybe your friend has issues with depression. I know at times, I will feel totally unhappy with life, even when things are going great. Depression is a horrible monster that can creep up on you. Maybe instead of giving her suggestions, just listen to her and be there for her. If she asks you for help, then I agree with S/H about taking her out. Just show her you care about her. Sometimes, just an “I love you and care about you” will make all the difference…

Bluz – It could be but it’s just a bit frustrated. The way i see it is to try to come up with some solutions, not just sit there complaining as if you WANT to be unhappy. Take life by the balls and shake it up. I’m not exactly where I want to be but i’m not going to just harp on it and stay feeling sorry for myself either. If I did, i’d be in a nut house by now…and nut house, I don’t mean a room full of naked men either (for you swiss)

Slim – I know it can be frustrating. When I feel that way, I typically withdraw now. I know that only I can pull myself out of the funk. I used to try to rely on other people to pull me out, but that’s too much to put on them. Personally, I have my cry fest, my pity party, then KIM…It can be hard for someone to pull out of that funk, though. It has taken me years to learn how to do it. Hopefully, your friend will get in a better mindset. Just let her vent. There are times when I’ve told a close friend that I didn’t want any advice…I just need to vent and then I feel better about it. There’s not much you can say to someone who is truly depressed…I hope she’ll work it out

Lady – The book you’re reading sounds really interesting. That’s more along the lines of what peaks my interest. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good book with a hint of love/romance but I ain’t interested in smut. Not saying 50 Shades is smut, as I’ve not read it but there are many others. I like to be where I can’t put the book down.

She’s actually not as big as she looks on tv. Those tennis dresses make her look bigger, I think. She always looks much slimmer in off-court photos. But oh my d@mn, the booty and them titTAYS!
