Dating: Reminisce!

Have you ever heard a song and was immediately reminded of an old flame? There are even times when I smell a certain cologne and the image of my ex pops in my head, and I smile. Reminiscing can be a really fun trip down memory lane.

Isn’t it fascinating how sounds, smells, or places can remind us of how we felt the first time we experienced them? I am a sentimental gal, so I have held on to a few mementos of former flames. When I want to think of the good memories, I pull out old photos or seek out reminders of happier times.

What are your best memories with someone you dated? What kind of things trigger particular memories of an old love?

Do you still have items from your past relationships that hold good memories for you?

DuShawn~ So the wifey DOES know the history. Yeah, I don’t think she is gonna wanna meet chick, IJS… So, another question: If you and the sweetheart have such a “unique history” how did she not end up being Mrs. DuShawn?

MsATL~ nice post and it seems you have really grown from your experiences.

I feel I’m in a VERY good place. A place of peace and happiness. It took me a long time to get here. I will say this, for anyone that’s ever been deeply hurt by a loved one, I truly hope you find the healing you need. There’s such a place where you can reside when you’ve let go all that other stuff.

Part of my hesistency in moving forward. I like where I am. I like peace and quiet and not all the baggage that comes with a heart being loaded with another sharing it’s space. It sounds selfish but it’s peaceful here. I only wish the same to others.

Thanks for Sharing MsAtl…I just about to say, guess we won’t get a response…I have some thought, but they certainly are not pertinent to any of the decisions made and issues you stepped away from….

I asked that because a lack of Love is very rarely in play, but perception usually is reality to most…Glad you have moved on happily, and that you have not let that steal memories from your children, some people just don’t get that part.

C~ I understand the place you are and the enjoyment of peace (espicially if the past relationship was tumultuous) but don’t you miss having that special someone that you cuddle with and share your life with?

Mmeello – Before you strike (lol), this ain’t about cats and quilts. This is about making a decision to jump back out in the deep where sometimes turbulent waters flow. Do I want to, is the question?

Cuddling and smooching is just a man away and VERY easy to find. But a relationship consists of more than cuddling and smooching…lol If you go all in, you’re all in for it all.

I hear men say OFTEN, that cheating is not all the time about something being amiss but (and I mean this with all sincerity..not being funny), isn’t that what commitment and values and parameters and borders about? I mean if you marry, it doesn’t matter how good someone else makes you feel, while your spouse makes you feel good. You have committed to doing something until death do you part. It seems like an excuse to say “it’s not that I don’t love my wife”….if you love someone HOW can you hurt them, or step into something potentially a bomb? I have never understood this rationale. Just my thoughts…

Interesting conundrum…marrying someone is simultaneously one of the most selfish and selfless acts a person can do. You selfishly want to occupy a person for your own personal pleasure for life, yet in order to do that you have to be very giving of yourself. funny how that works out!!! no wonder it can be so challenging, it’s an ultimate contradiction <<<randomly crossed this somewhere else and shared~

Side chick gets deported
Story from a colleague that I found quite awful and hilarious.

Isabelle dates Jaoquin. Jaoquin has a woman on the side, Ayi.

Isabelle and Jaoquin seemingly have a good relationship, and have been together since they were teenagers, for a total of about ten years.

Isabelle loved Jaoquin and thought he felt the same way until she, at his request, answered his phone.

That’s when things fell apart. Isabelle found out that Jaoquin had been creeping with their mutual acquaintance, Ayi.

Ayi knew about Isabelle and her relationship with Jaoquin.

Ayi has been in the US since she was a child. But never bothered to renew her visa. Because Ayi and Isabelle are acquaintances, Isabelle was well aware of Ayi’s status.

Heartbroken, Isabelle calls INS, and subsequently Ayi is deported back to Mexico.

Although the names of the parties and the country have been changed, this is a true story.

So my colleague asked a bunch of us whether or not Isabelle was wrong to call INS.

Only one person said she was wrong because “two wrongs don’t make it right.” My colleague felt that Isabelle was a diabolical, vindictive woman who ruined Ayi’s life.

Which side are you on?

Why not take it out on him? Why get ride of her? She can shoo her off but if he’s got a wondering eye, it will just be someone else. What then? Have her deported too?

IDK that I would call Isabelle diabolical, but she was definitely hurt. What’s the old saying? Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Not only that, chick was supposed to be her friend? Ayi ruined her own life IMO. The visa was something she could have taken care of long ago and it would never have been an issue. Sounds to me like Ayi is sloppy, not only with her legal status but also with her relationships.

Whew Lordy, that’s an understatement. I’ve said it here before, only twice have I been blind with fury. Only once though was I out of control and just unleased….no holds barred. I try to keep “Celoquasha” chained and below the surface. Only a special person can tapped that. The second person, where I was blind with fury…I just walked away. Of course that’s been about 3 years now but I had to walk on that one…..or else. I don’t think I’ve been nowhere mad since…lol

One of my besties’ alter ego is Rhodesia (as she calls herself…lol) She’s a sweet, petite, refined, (light)brown eyed little thing. When she snapped and all hell broke loose and tossed her hubby out, she literally knocked him over, as in fist fight. That was something to see. He was getting his stuff and almost running and looking at her like she’d grown two heads.

C~ I feel yiu on the blind fury thing. It has only happened to me once and I walked away, but I stewed about it for MONTHS after it happened. Took forever to shake it. SMD. Wouldn’t go back there to save myself.

Lady~ I think that the real answer about Isabelle is what C said. If she stayed with dude, then her anger was misdirected and (sooner or later) she will wind up killing someone behind a man that can’t keep his pen!s in his pants.

Remember when Antwuan Cook’s wife Paula tried to sue Fantasia for sleeping with her husband? Fantasia has always wanted us to believe that the father of her son Dallas, Antwaun Cook, was separated from his wife Paula Cook when they hooked up, but now we’re finding out that it was in fact, a lie.

Paula filed a claim that stated her husband began a “covert adulterous affair” with Fantasia in August 2009, a claim both Antwaun and Fantasia denied. Antwaun finally came clean in court, when he signed court papers admitting that the couple officially called it quits in June 2010, which means he was still legally married when he hooked up with Fanny.

According to Radaronline:

“The parties consent and agree that Plaintiff [Paula] and Defendant [Antwaun] are husband and wife having been lawfully married to each other on October 1, 2005 and separated on June 16, 2010,” the docs state.

By consenting to the date of separation being June 2010, Antwaun is admitting that he cheated on his wife with Fantasia.

Given Antwaun’s admission of adultery, if his estranged wife desired to do so she would now legally sue Fantasia for Alienation of Affection, which is a North Carolina law in which one can sue the third party who “alienates” the affections of one spouse from the other spouse.

Everyone assumed Fantasia and Cook began dating when he was married but now it is official, is anyone surprised?

Fantasia has not released a statement on the report.

Who is planning the baby shower?

When I said “we” I meant we as in the blog..or whomever’s interested and that goes for ladies AND gents as it could also be a meet n greet combined. Or at least that’s my thinking on it. First and foremost we need a date and who’s wants to participate. Once we have a date that is feasible to EVERYONE then we can proceed with the venue. We all know it’s a girl so there’s no guessing in what to buy. Also, we need to find out if Mrs. Swiss is registered anywhere. We have time but I just wanted to put it on the front burner so it won’t be last minute for anyone.
