Dating: Rejection and big egos

Have you ever been out somewhere, minding your own business, and you get approached – when you really don’t want to be? Things can get kind of awkward but it only gets worse when someone’s massive ego gets bruised and they can’t handle it.

In the last few days, I have heard disturbing stories of people completely losing their cool when they get turned down. It’s like they go from sweet talk to rage speak in sixty seconds! Whatever happened to bowing out gracefully or going away quietly?

Of course, letting someone down should be done in a gentle manner, but why do you think some people don’t just move on? What do you do if things escalate?

What is the best way to say you are not interested in someone?

“I’m still hung up on folks that are habitual, pathological liars. Well, not really. Just wonder what makes them tick…” – I think the root of the problem is an unhealthy need for “attention.”

Yeah, I agree. But why? Then their delusions sort of spills over into reality and then they start reading messages to be something that’s not. You know? Then the end up believing there’s more going on or to themselves than there really is. I just think about stuff people do, when they sit down at night, if they ponder over their actions or come to grips with the sort of being they really are. Nothing special…just pondering

CC – I was actually thinking about it earlier but decided naaah, nevermind. But I was sitting here eating my grilled cheese sammich (lol) and start thinking again. And you know me, I’m always pondering or wondering about something. Why there’s so much effort put into fronting or scheming or lying or playing games. Not just stuff on the blog or relationships but looking at coworkers who can’t stand each other but will break bread? Why? If I don’t like or care for you, I’m not going to eat, email, text, call you, give you my number to call me….lol….so forth and so on. You get what I’m saying. Why can’t people just do what they want. You ain’t even got to say you don’t like me. You just don’t have to say anything. Why the EXTRA effort of going there when it’s fake? You know?

Black, I love Jamaican food, but sometimes I’m like no how no way. I’ve seen some seafood soup that looked they just took a bucket out and dipped it in the ocean and what ever came up in was in the soup (LOL)

And in the Bahamas went to a fish fry, little did I know the fish was going to be looking back at me (LOL)

Single ~ speaking of Burger King. I invited my good friend and her son over for Thanksgiving dinner. Both have had my cooking before and seemed to enjoy it. Why just before time to serve the plates she excuses herself and says she’s going to take her son to Mickey D’s and will be right back. I was very offended. That boy was spoiled so much that now as a grown man, he’s a shiftless, aimless father of a one year old with no damn backbone. Can you say PUNK ASS PUNK!

Quiet as it’s kept, we all are trainers to our SO. Men subliminally train their women and women subliminally train their men. The beauty of it all is each thinks they’ve changed for themselves.

disco – You get it. Now this is one place we agree and see eye to eye. I was tickled a bit over MMeello’s comment this morning (that’s sort of what got me to thinking), in tossing out a wrong number. Ummm, 20 years ago maybe, but not so much now. “Buddy, kick rocks please”…lol I ain’t doing it. I remember before my sister passed, we were pretty tight. I NEVER gave out my number. I would give a dude my sister’s house number. If he called, she’d take a message. I go to her house and call him back. Of course our houses were within a couple blocks (walking distance) from each other. But nah, not so much now. I’m not into playing games with anybody. Coworkers, kinfolks, bloggies (sorry)…none of that.

C – you are right. we don’t agree often but we both hate phoney. re games with numbers back in the day. a lot of my friends did the run of the mill restaurant, hospital, police numbers but I would give out the numbers of chicks I didn’t like. once a guy ran that single game on me only for it to come to light that he had a woman (she was military and away so I guess he was getting it in). I started giving out his woman’s name and his phone number.

Single and Happy – Your 2:38, yet again we agree. I’m one up on you though because rather than turning to hate, or not wishing them good or bad, they just become on existence for me. Understand when I say turned enemy means somewhere something got violated. But believe me, I won’t be sitting outside their homes waiting for an opportunity to get them back. I don’t think it’s even that serious and THAT’S what I would say is energy consuming. That much effort can be put to good use elsewhere :) Too, it weighs heavy on the heart. I won’t give them that back. Poof, and they’re gone.

Single I had a Jamaican friend recently have a bbq cook out and he had the head of a goat on the grill. Horns, eyes, fur, and tongue still attached to the head. I looked at dude like who’s eating that and he stated it was a tradition in his country to cook the whole head of goat.

I remember the first time that I went and ordered a beef patty. That things was huge. The ones here in the states were tiny compared to them.

Yes, they have some interesting food. i can deal with goat and all, but I gotta be prepared. Don’t spring it on me.

As for the octopus and squid, I ate plenty of it in Asia. So, I’m good now. I had no problem with them. Just get me some texas pete and I was fine. My lady friend actually had some in her purse. This was pre-911 went you could have things over 3 oz.

disco~ I used to do the “give out the number of some chick I didn’t like” until I inadventently ended up playing match maker. Gave dude this chick’s number and who’d da thunk it? They ended up conversing for hours and hours apparently and it became a real hookup. Then I had to see dude occasionally and it was awkward with a capital A. LOL!

C~ With you on the fake azz co-worker, real world people, etc. If I don’t like you. I don’t like you. Don’t try to have coffee with me in the morning. (What’s your favorite coffee? The one where I drink it alone! ) Don’t make small talk or any other talk. Just do your thing and let me do mine. I agree with what Leggs said, but I also think that some people thrive on the drama that lyng can create. Twisting people’s words, lying by omission, etc. I think they don’t even realize that they bring the drama they bring because they are so USED to living with their lies. JMO…
