Dating: It’s complicated Live! Atlanta
I had the honor of hosting a really fun event this weekend at the Woodruff Arts Center’s Rich Theater. Yours truly was hostess for the It’s Complicated Live! Tour with matchmaker and TV host, Paul Brunson. Paul has guest blogged on Misadventures in Atlanta and it was great to finally meet him in person.
It was such a fun night! First off, there were a lot of sexy people there, including me (at least I felt sexy!). It was wonderful to see people networking without the pressure of meeting a date. Paul even challenged us with the task of exchanging contact information with at least 3 people before we left. Not necessarily of the opposite sex, either. I accomplished that task…all three were men.
Paul Brunson’s presentation was engaging, informative, entertaining, and I even managed to crack a few laughs with the audience! In a separate part of the evening, I went up for a “demo” on how I approached men. I sort of failed miserably at impressing my target but I was happy to see where I go wrong! (You will be shocked to learn, I overtalked)
One of the things that I took away from the evening (there was loads of good information!) was the importance of attraction. I think we all want to have someone that is attractive. However, when it comes to choosing your MATE, your attraction TO them should be FIRE. Like, without that? It’s probably not going to work.
That point really made me think. Do you agree? Some folks believe that attraction can build over time. I suppose you can argue it from both sides, but I wonder – which notion do you subscribe to? Attraction on fire or build up with a slow burn?
Paul Brunson will release his book soon (October 11!) but for now you can catch him co-hosting every Monday night on LoveTown USA airing on the Oprah Winfrey Network (10:00 pm ET) The show was filmed in Kingsland, GA and the entire town made “love” a top priority for 30 days.

My alarm went off and I laid back down…lol Good thing a friend was calling me at about 7:09. Wonder how long I would have slept had my phone not rang? I got here after 9:00, which is no biggie. Sometimes that’s regular time for me…lol

“Attraction on fire or build up with a slow burn?”
I look at it both ways. For example if I am “attracted” it is usually based on how “hot” the women looks (hair, clothes, shoes, etc.). Her “hotness” has fuled my passion & desire. If I meet someone who is not as “hot” but has other attributes I find attractive (money, house, car, etc.) I might consider a “slow burn” relationship.
I once heard this joke from 2 women who were talking about Evander Holyfield. One women said what kind of woman would want a unattractive man like him? The other woman answered and said “money made Mike Tyson look attractive, just ask Robin Givens and her mother” and Holyfield might not be the best looking man in ATL but he has lots of money that’s why women want to have his babies. In other words money makes any man or woman attractive especially in ATL. ATL Men and women both like to perpetrate a lifestyle of luxury (cars, clothes, etc.). Fakes.

I told him, no offense but I don’t feel any need for us to communicate. I said i’m in a relationship and you’re Married and that’s not being respectful our our partners. Cel – I went to Shout with one of my besties (the one that just had her baby). So it was her first time getting out since the baby was born and we really enjoyed chatting it up about stuff. That was pretty much it besides me looking after the beau on Sunday nursing his hangover. Apparently, he took the time while I was out to get his sippy sip on and overindulged lol

When my alarm went off I quickly realized I could sleep a good 30 more mins since I didn’t have to do my hair (lol).
SlimUno ~ it won’t be the last of him. He’s presently bored and you’ve piqued his curiousity. It will take perhaps one more time with an even sharper tone before the light bulbs dims with the knowledge he’s not going to get through to you.

Lady – Where is that? That does sound like fun. No doubt the Wednesday before, I’ll be getting last minute stuff. Usually I’m leaving work early to pick up my catered dinner…lololol I do have a invite to Savannah Thanksgiving weekend. I haven’t given it a lot of thought because I getting Christmas off. I just might though now because my manager just had 27 more people placed under her. As long as we can “work it out”, it’s all good. There’s a bigger pool of folks I can get to cover for me.
