We are never getting back together

Leave it to Taylor Swift to write a perfectly titled break up song. The thought of getting back together really does not work for everyone. When we consider the dating experiences that were “character building” as my Dad says, we have to know when it is really over.

It is important to remember that no matter how many right things some of our exes say, reuniting with them is a bad idea. I always say that you can love someone but not have to be with them. It is possible to be bad for each other!

Do you have an ex that you are absolutely sure about why you are no longer together? There was no need for closure or continued friendship. Things are so over, you can never go back. Do you think they feel the same way about you?

Have you ever told someone that you could never be with them again? If that is how you feel, do you think it is good to tell someone that to their face? How much honesty should we have in a break up?

C, you know I’m not ashamed of my age, :-) but I’ve always been like that, I can honestly say I’ve had one crazy ex, and when she finally let me out her house I never looked back, I don’t care what she offered :-)

ITL – Sorry chica, no poem or skit at the moment…still peeking in periodically in between work. But i’ll see what I can do if time permits.

Ok, last night I get a text from some unknown number asking how i’m doing. I of course, do the normal thing, “I apologize but i’m uncertain of who this is”. Anyway, it turns out to be the manager of this sports bar I went to a few times. My stepdad sings or whatever and this place does a live band or some sort of musician on the weekends. I thought it would be a nice gig for my stepdad so I spoke to one of the other managers about seeing if he’d be interested in having him sing there. This was probably last year and my pops did do a few shows there, not to mention have another group he knew to perform a few times…So when I went to this same spot for my birthday, the mgr was in there and bought me a drink since it was my bday and all (back in June). So now i’m wondering what in the hell does he want with me. He said he had not seen me since my bday and needed to talk to me. I naturally assumed it was to maybe get back in contact with my stepdad for future shows or something but the dude was like, nothing is wrong, I just want to talk to you. This whole things sounds fishy to me because ole dude is married and why in the world would he be reaching out to me after all this time? I’m not into dealing with married men on any level other than platonic.

@leggs – “Omission isn’t good when one is assessing whether to nuture the relationship or walk away from it.”

Sometimes it is good to be “Bold” and make a decision about the “Man” and the direction you want the relationship to go. Ask yourself these questions – Do I treat him like I love him? or Does he treat me like he loves me? This is a good situation. My advice, love the man who loves you. He will not cheat on you or hurt your feelings. He will marry you regardless of how many kids you have, how much money you make or where you live. He will love regardless of your questionable past.

That does sound good, Bluz. I was feeling a bit better on Saturday (or maybe that was just the Captain talking) but then miserable again that night. :( I see some whisky in my future.

@Stamps: gin and honey??? Never heard of that combo. Usually do honey, lemon, and whiskey.

“I can attest that I know of no two-headed women and probably thankfully” – Celisea, I gather you won’t be watching that new reality show of the Abby and ?? Sisters with two heads and one body. Bluz – My intuition tells me otherwise. I was busy when he hit me up last night so I got a follow–up text from him a little while ago. I asked what he needed to discuss with me and he said “Nothing wrong, I just would like to talk”…That does not sound like a business call.

It’s not a business call. Don’t give him any leverage. He thinks he’s coming in like Hercules. Cut off his hair (air time w/you) thereby stomping on his perceived power. That man is straight up tricking.

@Leggs – “It’s like women over 45 are more willing to settle just to have someone to nestle up with. instead of being alone. ”

From my experience most women over 40 have already experienced life (marriage, kids, house, etc.) Maturity has taught them never to say never. They are smarter, wiser and better than before and are not quick to judge. If you have ever been in a long term relationship that ended regardless of the what, how and who you appreciate your freedom of choice. Some women over 40 choose to date younger men because they yearn for tight bodies and stamina to go all night long. Other women choose older men because of the security they offer (retirement, etc.). Either way women over 40 have lots of choices when it comes to dating the 2nd time around.

Bluz ~ the difference here is he has not said once about working together. If it’s business it’s stated upfront. Anything else is a guise for extracurriculum activities. He’s snaking around her ankles trying to look up her skirt….

Celisea

September 5th, 2012

If it was about business, he would have picked up the phone and walked through the front door with it. “Hey, I have something your stepdad may be interested in” NOT “nothing wrong, just wanna talk…..”

Imma agree here as well. Mmeello probably wouldn’t agree (lol), but just being about to say what you think and want, what you’re gonna do versus not, what you’re gonna tolerate versus not, is a heck of a range. More than folks would know.

If it was business, as she stated, her step dad, and other bands he know have played there several times! so he’s knows how to get in touch with them if he needs to, and it’s not through her, she’s not their manager.
