Left a good impression?

If you ever want to know if you had a significant impact on someone’s life, have a little chat with your ex. It could be a harrowing or enlightening experience – or both! We may never fully realize the impression we made on someone, but experiences are meant to teach us things.

What do you think you taught the people you have loved? It could be what they don’t want in their next partner, or what they absolutely would love to have in their future mate.

It is one of great things about dating, the chance to learn about who is ideal for us. Do you think you left a good impression on your dates and people you dated long-term?

Would you be surprised if they told you that you changed them?

On topic:

I think some people really have an impact on others, current or exes…

Andrea Sneiderman changed dude’s life….or more precisely,her couchie did…

And the dude’s ding dong changed Andrea against her husband and to jail….

Another one…the Astranaut lady that wore a diaper and drove across states to go to Florida to whack a competing heifer…when u are a dude and u put it down on a chic so much that she goes nuts, she disses her mama, her brother etc to go for broke for a luver…that’s talent…

Things happen and some folks can luv good and change lives.

I hope I was on topic…

Good morning!

Morning, all.

Have mercy….I didn’t think I was ever gonna find Blogsville. We need to put up a bigger sign!

Would I be surprised if an ex told me I had changed him? Not really. I think most couples grow and evolve over the course of a relationship. Sometimes that growth brings them together, sometimes it widens the distance…..

ex – you immediately made me think of my little bro. he met a girl recently that he was really digging. in conversation he told me that this girl changed his whole perspective. I bust out laughing. like really? your whole perspective. since then perspective has become an inside joke. changing someone’s perspective can even be a pretty decent threat. keep playing and I’ll change your whole perspective. lol.

LMAO at Ex!!!!

I think a couple of my exes and I evolved in ways together. I can say that they changed me in some ways and I changed them in some ways. Nothing too major. We had positive and negative effects on each other…I’m learning to focus on the positive changes and take the negative and learn lessons from them…

Morning all! Over the years we all evolve, and yes some people to help along the way with that, not only S/O but alot of people in our lives. S/O may take you to places that you would not have ever ventured without them, or open our eyes to new opportunities that we other wise would not have seen. Some call it changing, others call it growing. What ever term you may use, it happens :-)

Morning folks!

We were talking about relationships yesterday, hubs & I, and he talked about this older woman he dated right out of college. Here he was about 23 and she was pushing 40. He said she really taught him alot about how to treat a woman and generally dropped some good knowledge on him. Some of it is stuff, if you were lucky, your parents should have taught you.

I don’t know what impression I left on my exes. I try to treat people like I would want to be treated, but I’m sure I irritated some, like they did me!LOL! While I would say for the most part they were decent guys, none affected me in a profound way, or “changed” me. I guess I learned what I liked or didn’t like in a man, or what to watch for in the next dude. Maybe you could call me arrogant, I don’t know. I never felt I needed “changing”, especially from some dude. I am affected and inspired by people I truly respect, that make me want to be better, those that could show me a different way to look at things. None of my exes did that for me, which I guess is why they are exes. My dad, some uncles, some friends and teachers that have crossed my path over the years, and now my husband, truly inspire me.

Leggs – Now that I think about it, I did give one guy a different perspective. He was an nice enough dude, intelligent, kind, good father, but had kind of a dark side that I got a peek of. We came from 2 very different backgrounds – his mom gave him away when he was quite young, but stayed in and out of his life and brought trouble every time she came around. He was on and off the streets until he got it together, went to college and got in the IT field. In contrast, my world was a little more Cosby Show-esque. Anyway, his rough side would surface from time to time, and I wasn’t having it. A lot of game-playing and he was a little flip around my family. When I had enough, I was calm and matter-of-fact about it. I was a lady and was going to be treated as one at all times. This was the guy I spoke of in the past that broke down crying so much when I broke it off it scared me. Later when he calmed down and I agreed to listen to his apology, he told me I made him really look at himself. He said if a nice woman like me did not want to deal with him anymore, he really needed to look in the mirror and get himself together. He had never had a woman to set a standard and stick to it, he told me.

Morning
How’s everyone doing this morning? Everyone leaves an impression the person they date, and vice versa. You are the sum of your experiences. So everyone you’ve interacted with has impacted you in some way. The people we’ve dated may have impacted us in ways we don’t even realize, and you may have also significantly impacted someone else without realizing it. That’s why I think you should always do right by people. You may not always truly know their situation or how your actions/words/behavior will play out in their lives.

My friend was trying to persuade her to go to the Superdome with everyone else, but she was reluctant. She and her boyfriend felt they could handle things on their own. Then, the levees broke and we didn’t hear anything for about a day. It was a scary time for us, but horrific for my co-worker and of course, beyond horrific for her sister.

Leggs – I don’t remember exactly what I was doing when it hit, but I remember watching the news a few days prior. They were interview Mayor Nagin and the gov of LA. I remember one reporter asking the gov, in a very doubtful tone “Are you guys ready for this?” That told the tale right there and I kept replaying that in my mind when I watched the aftermath on the news.

I was working for Home Depot corporate at the time, and they had all the managers assigned shifts in the War Room. They had a big screen tv in there with the Weather Channel on it. We had periodic conference calls with managers on the scene at different stores in the Gulf. The pictures were terrifying they sent over – I mean stores completely covered in water with just a little of the orange roof peeking thru!!

Leggs-

Sorry to hear about the car troubles. My admin assistantant had the same thing happen Friday evening when she headed home to Conyers. The tires went kaput on her and caused her similar damage as you had. The only real difference was that you had the transmission trouble and she did not make it home before the tire burst. Her hubby is a truck driver and he was on the road.

She drives a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass which she had redone. She likes the old classic cars. Classic cars usually need special order parts.

I am glad that you are safe and sound. Cars can be replaced and repaired.

Look on the bright side, you still get your appreciation from work, get to eat on their dime, and $500 appreciation prize. So, smile.

As for the house, I feel ya. While apartments make other people rich, houses always need something done. Arthur Blank & Bernie Marcus were geniuses! There are times that I visit Home Depot so often that they know me when I walk in. Well, I guess that I kinda stand out, too.

y’all are clowning and cracking jokes but y’all know I have to rep for the teen parents since I come from a long, long line of them. lol. the bright side is that the kids grow up with lots of grands, great grands and great great grands. i had so many grandparents growing up that I truly took them for granted. now knowing people who never got to know their grandparents and I understand the blessing. we always ran 5 generations deep.

of course, that’s not an endorsement for teen parents, ijs.

PoppaG ~ I’m a bait car fanatic myself. It’s truly uncanny what prompts one to steal a car as though they really are going to get away with it. I remember seeing one episode where two young girls came out of the train station and passed the open vehicle. Both doubled back and got in. While inside they introduced themselves and stole the darn car…who does that?

I have to admit that I watch a lot of the trashy reality tv that airs on MTV. It’s all like a great big trainwreck! Kind of my guilty pleasure. I don’t admit it to too many people.
