Have you ever met someone you liked a lot and things started going super fast? It’s like your romantic interest went from potential interest to possible soul mate in a matter of days. What happened?!
I think a lot of us get caught up in someone new that we tend to jump over a couple of steps. What is the urgency? Why the need to rush things on the fast track?
I can remember an older woman telling me that you should not make any decision about a man until you have seen him in every season: winter, spring, summer, fall. Yes, apparently men can have different sides to their personality that is specific to a season!
Old wives tale aside, I can understand why seeing a person in different situations can show you a lot about their character. Do you believe that rushing a relationship can allow a person’s true character to be observed?
How do you slow things down without pushing everything off the rails? Would you be offended if the person you were dating wanted to slow things down?

Diva, the old lady was right. Facades are men of ill intent best weapons. Absolutely be guarded! Some make it their life’s mission to hide behind the smoke screen. CLEAR THE AIR AND FREELY SEE!!

How do I slow things down? Tell him to kick rocks, stick an I hate you sign on his back and a kick me sign on his groin. If he sticks around, he’s a keeper.

Morning! Good Topic! Well I met my boo in late spring early summer and this summer has been a good one getting to know one another and getting through our highs and lows and good and bad days…..We have sustain into a solid relationship and I am enjoying the ride. We discussed recently how we are looking forward to fall and winter (the holidays) with our bond growing stronger. I must say our relationship isn’t candy land and the butterflies have settled a while back. When have had some heated debates and down right arguments but I must say for the most part we don’t go to be angry and we truly communicate our needs and wants and minimize the passive behavior. We even noticed when we disagree we were starting to hit below the belt with sensitive information and we both discussed how it has to stop so I feel we are continuously growing into a more solid couple with our seasons~ He is a good guy of good stock. I respect his wisdom and experiences and he says he learns from me too and I have helped him with a difficult situation. One thing he mentioned yesterday is he values my kindness and our friendship. I must say I love our friendship too. We have a very similar background and it helps our foundation. We were in the Sprint store Saturday past and the rep stated it seems my boo and I has known each other a very long time. I am just happy we are sustaining through the good and bad and moving forward with the same goals.

So naturally our relationship has slowed down and took its course bc we did start out very excited bc we both were super happy we both wanted the same things out of an relationship moving forward

Good Morning, bloggies!
I think that the rushing is the crux of the issue today. People are in such a hurry to be in relationships that the normal “getting to know you” phase is passed by with lightning speed. Then they wonder why things didn’t work. If you are worth knowing, make him/her take the time to get to know you. Be friends first. The friendship will last long after the physical has gone.

And what’s my hurry? Not in one. That’s the worse thing you can do. Dive in tossing all caution to the wind and THEN, you wanna think and set rules and parameters. Actually it’s okay to dive in…at some point, but first set the order of how things should flow.
At the same time, I think it’s possible to pull the brakes if the train is moving a bit too fast. I think though that it’s probably not as easy as it sounds. If you yank the brakes to fast and too hard, you could end up getting derailed.

Funny thing about those childhood rhymes. I know they’re meant to make kids “feel” better, but words DO hurt. Especially when they are lies or unjustified or unfounded accusations.

ITL – my imagination isn’t working yet. I’m not generally a fan of back to school tales but I have one that tickled me. a lady was telling me that her 6 year old first grader was excited all summer long about back to school. she loved kindergarten and thought school was the best thing ever. she was all excited shopping for new clothes and supplies and could barely sleep in anticipation of going back to school. how come when the little girl got to school and realized that her first grade teacher and her kindergarten teacher weren’t the same person she had a mini meltdown. when her mom told me that I couldn’t do anything but crack up. what a let down.

“God willing and the Creek don’t rise” is a reference to te Creek Indians. They were very warlike people, so when someone had to make a journey they used to say they would return safely if it was the Lord’s will and the Creek Indians did not have another uprising against the settlers. (And that’s one to grown on!

What’s up, blog crew?!
What’s the rush? Now you know we live in an instant gratification society now! Plus, it seems nobody asks “what’s the rush” when it comes to physical intimacy. Personally, I think that’s right up there with something you should take time to develop. But folks have no problem questioning when someone decides early on that they really care for a person deeply and want to give their all. Sometimes you really just “know”. Now I have no problem with taking ones time to really get to know someone. But there is a fine line between taking your time and stringing someone along too.
Go at the pace that’s comfortable for the parties involved.
What’s interesting going on in Blogville today?

Kind of funny that ya’ll get tired of me, but now want me to dish! LOL!!!
I did NOT go last night. I had a ton to do at home anyways. So…he called while I was in therapy. I didn’t answer (was just talking about him). He then texted “Quit being childish and talk to me.” I had to laugh about it. I just replied that I was in therapy. It’s a good thing I was in therapy because I probably would have gone off on him with that remark! I wasn’t ignoring him…I was BUSY!!! Anyway…he texted later in the evening asking how’s my therapist and my reply was “very smart and insighful.” I wonder if that got him thinking. He has to know he was a big topic in my session!
I’m wondering if he’s confused about what he really wants. I know that I”m questioning what I really want. I think he and I need to have a face to face conversation. I need to talk to him about my feelings about him saying I was being childish and the babysitting comment yesterday. Both of those were so NOT cool. I’m willing to see if we can talk things out and go from there. If we are to only be friends…I’m fine with that, but I need to process it and will need a little time from him. Good thing is that we are both going out of town this weekend…me to the beach and him to the mountains. A little time a part may do some good. When he was in NOLA, he was all about me.
Anyway…I’m sitting back right now and just laying low. I’m not going to reach out today. When I backed off last week, he came running! Not that I’m trying to play games, but I’m trying to really back off so that I don’t feel too hurt.
I like him…I ain’t gonna lie…but I’m no where near falling for him or anything. If it’s not meant to be, I’ll be fine. My ego may be bruised a bit, but I’ll pick it up and KIM!!!

Honestly, disco, I think it stems from the need to be validated by others. I’m sure “Lady” could speak to this better than I, but it seems like folks like Bluz have an extreme need for acceptance and validation from others in order to ensure that they are making the right decisions.
Of course, it is odd that Bluz never seems to take our advice, but then says things like, “Aren’t you at least proud of me that I did/did not ___________” Stumps me, quite frankly.

Cel – For now, I just want to focus on one day at a time. I hope we can have a conversation before we both leave town, but if it doesn’t happen, then fine. I’m just backing off. If he really does like me and is confused about what he wants, he’ll realize it when I’m quiet. If he says something today about not talking to him, I’ll probably tell him that I need a little time to digest everything that has happened.
I’m thinking that all of this happening is a good thing because it’s made me have to back off a little. I’m good at jumping in full speed ahead. I have tried to not do that this time…and felt I was doing ok with it. We’re hitting our big speed bumps now. How we both handle it will tell a lot about our future. Even if it’s just as friends…

The surest way for us normal guys to stay faithful is to just avoid temptation. But for celebrities, there is no avoiding temptation. Hoes are throwing the puddy at these dudes 24/7. There’s nowhere for them to hide. Occasionally, some puddy is going to land on them.

He says Arizona’s is a place you take a woman to when you know you’re in a relationship. He says his budget for a first date is Applebee’s, Red Lobster, perhaps LongHorns. I told him I was waiting for him to add Captain D’s to his list and he started laughing. Here’s another misconception…
If a guy cheats, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s in any way unsatisfied with what he has at home. It could just mean there’s some puddy right in front of him at that moment. It’s like putting a big juicy steak in front of a dog. I don’t care how well trained the dog is, or how happy the dog is with his life, if there’s nobody around and that steak is sitting there, all juicy and delicious, just begging to be eaten, there’s a good possibility that steak is going to get devoured. The best defense is just turn and walk the other way when you start smelling somebody else’s steak too near.

I had a friend that I have known since kindergarten (30+ years) and when I was married to the ex-hubs she could not STAND the air he breathed. I mean always asked me why I just didn’t leave him, he was an alcoholic, the whole 9. Her faher lived out of the country in a U.S. Territory. Oct 2010 her father got very sick. I helped her to get a plane ticket down there. I could not take a LOA from work at the time and she was calling everyday telling me how sad and lonely she was. I flew the BF down to be with her. After her father passed, (He was from our area) I helped her to set up a memorial at a local park and dedicate a bench to him and held the reception for the memorial at my home. Flash forward to March 2011. When I leave the bum, she all of a sudden stops talking to me. I call her. She comes to the house to pick up some stuff she has left there and tells me how wrong I am for leaving the ex when he was unemployed and his mother was dying I was like WTF?!? They have become fast friends and she even tried to fabricate things she said I had done during the divorce to help his position. Yeah, she deserves te karmic b!tch slap IMO.

3 Reasons Why Men Choose Text Message Over Phone Calls
We text because we can! Look I am just as guilty as the next man for over using text messaging to communicate. It is quick and convenient so we take advantage of that fact. If a woman takes no issue or does not express the fact that she has taken issue with all the text, then we simply won’t stop. Why would we eliminate what works for most of us if you don’t say you have a problem with it? The position of many women for the need to verbally communicate is not shared by a lot of men. To some men as long as you received a message from him and some form of communication, well then mission accomplished.
We don’t feel like talking to your ass! Sometimes when women talk, all a man hears is womp womp womp. So to eliminate that problem we just send you a text. It will minimize the need for a long drawn out conversation that we may feel is pointless. It could also save us from some incessant nagging that we know is about to come. So we simply use our text messaging as our shield. Again it’s just too convenient and if we see it can help us avoid some unnecessary talk and backlash, well then we will put it to use. There are plenty of men who have uttered the line “I’ll just text her for now until she cools down”. May not always be the best approach but the thought process makes perfect sense.
We don’t like you like that! I know that sounds harsh and mean, but I have to be honest. Sometimes a man will mainly use texting because you are not a priority. He may desire to have sex with you but for some women all it takes is some texting to get that ass. So guess what, that is all he may give you in his quest to get some. There are some cases where you may not start off as priority but you get “promoted” to the top spot. So initially while he hasn’t fully determined your value to him you may still mainly get texts instead of phone calls which take more effort and time. Time is precious, and a man isn’t going to give a woman a more time consuming action such as talking if he does not see the value in it. You as the woman have to set your price, and then he will decide if he wants to pay it or not.
of course from a male relationship expert~

Good Afternoon-

In regards to Brad and Angelina. The one thing that I’ve known for quite sometime. Crazy Puddy is usually Fire Puddy. Crazy females always keep a man. Angelina used to wear a vile of he ex’sblood (Billy Bob Thornton) around her neck. If that ain’t bar **beep** crazy. I don’t know what is. After seeing her on the Oscars wearing the dress with the long split, I think that she needs to eat a sammich or two. She is getting Olsen-twins thin.
As for hall passes, I used to love myself some Kerry Washington until I actually met her. Right now, I am all about Sonya Richards-Ross, then again most of the US women’s track 4-100 relay team except Allyson Felix.

Those spiders are beneficial to your house and garden. I dislike spiders a lot – I’m completely creeped out by them, but they have their place. Luckily, my wasp and lizard population is huge, I’ve had very little spiders this year.
I put up bat houses to control my mosquito population. It’s the third year of having the bat houses, and I have little to no mosquitos this year. I also used the poop to make a slurry to feed my garden – it’s the best garden I’ve ever had, and it’s all organic.

My biggest complaint with texting is that it leaves interpretation mostly to the reader.
As a husband, I know good a well that “OK, go ahead and go” can mean different things from my wife depending on how she says. Sometimes, it means that I really can go. Other times, it is a threat that if I go there will be consequences. So, I can’t let texting get me hemmed up in some unnecessary drama.
I, at least, need to hear how it is said.

Texting is good for quick check-ups like “what was the number to that painter again?”, “gonna be about 10 minutes late, stuck in line at the bank”, “is Joe’s house number 249 or 248″?, that kind of stuff. That’s after you’ve established at least a friendship! Just getting to know each other requires real communication, no texts that could be misinterpreted. If you don’t want to hear my mouth, don’t send me some tired text that could be taken 5 different ways!
And if the thought of talking to a woman irritates you that much, why are you even dealing with her?
If all you need is the booty, get you one you can call up any time of day or night that you can get in and get it done without convo and call it a day! Geesh!

“We are VERY efficient at saving money and getting the best deal. You men are very efficient at saving time, because you know what you want, walk in, grab it and buy it no matter the cost.”
This is actually a very good metaphor for dating. And is good illustration why quality dudes are spoken for quickly while a lot of chicks get stuck rummaging through whatever is left in the $0.50 bin at Wal-Mart.

ITL-I want to agree with you, but I can’t…..women think that they are saving money because the sticker says SALE, which sometimes means nothing….We, or I will speak for me, may see something advertised, and make a mental note, see it again, its a little lower price, make a mental note, and set purchase at disclaimer…if it drops to that point…we go and get it. That’s call saving.
Now if its major WANT- we may go ahead and purchase, but our major wants are not usally exclusive, so we cross check every store first, and maybe stop by a pawn shop or two for comparables first.

Exactly, if you do that you haven’t really saved anyway. If gas is $4.00 per gallon, you may spend more riding around that if you just did your research on the internet and found the best place to go to get what you are searching for.
Especially if you drive from Stonecrest to Arbor Place for a pair of red shoes, you spent more in gas than is necessary.

I wrote the regional manager a nice long email. Then, I was contacted with a long apology by the CEO of the restaurant group that they belong in. Two weeks later, we received $300 in vouchers that covered food and alcohol. So, they responded well with customer service for me. There are certain places I like to go for “treasures”, like cool jewelry or just something I know I won’t find anywhere else, but even then I have a certain price limit. This is an example when texting is not great. He was all about communication last week when we talked. He was the one who said the word “dating” to me. He was the one who pursued me. Now, he’s changed his tune. He should have told me this face to face, but he needs to hide behind a text.
I won’t reply and then I’m sure he’ll say something about me not talking to him. Then I will respond and say that he said I’m being childish when he’s the one who wouldn’t talk to me all weekend and then hides behind a text. If he really respects me, he would have come and talked to me face to face…

* As a man, I am truly blessed to be able to look at all the beautiful women this world offers, I only wish that each Individual lady could see her own beauty as I do. No surgeries,no Body Magic, just be you!!!*
That was one of the reasons that I quit watching America’s Next Top Model and really have a problem with pageants in general. My wife doesn’t understand why i am so against children in pageant Joibenet Ramsey style. It tends to indoctrinate the young’un that they aren’t beautiful enough.
As for Next Top Model, that Janice Dickinson chick called enough females fat that really weren’t especially sistas.

Maybe he actually did like you, but then got scared off by how — um, what was ITL’s word? — intense you are. Maybe he was put off by the sloppy drunken shenanigans. Who knows? But one thing I can tell you for sure. People’s actions will tell you a lot more than their words. And if he really wanted something meaningful with you, you’d know it.

Now, he doesn’t want to loose your connections ( or the opportunity to hit that in the future) so he is buttering you up and trying to talk. Capiche?

Cause he’s done that already. And like someone said, you should know it’s a turn off dealing with a drunken woman and a clingon. Not trying to sound harsh. You’re concentrating on all he said or didn’t say but none of what may have run him off. I still believe initially you had the opportunity to make it stick. CC — Ah, okay, well that could really happen. So, Bluz, read the book, but stay away from the movie. There’s no Hollywood ending in real life.
Seriously, though, you wreak of desperation — like you’re not complete unless you have a man in your life. Dudes can sense that like sharks smell blood in the ocean. The good dudes won’t want to deal with the accompanying mania and the players will want to take advantage of your vulnerability. You need to take some time to get to a point where you’re happy with your life and yourself sans boo, and then you’ll be amazed at the different caliber of dude you attract.
