Relationships: What is your hurry?

Have you ever met someone you liked a lot and things started going super fast? It’s like your romantic interest went from potential interest to possible soul mate in a matter of days. What happened?!

I think a lot of us get caught up in someone new that we tend to jump over a couple of steps. What is the urgency? Why the need to rush things on the fast track?

I can remember an older woman telling me that you should not make any decision about a man until you have seen him in every season: winter, spring, summer, fall. Yes, apparently men can have different sides to their personality that is specific to a season!

Old wives tale aside, I can understand why seeing a person in different situations can show you a lot about their character. Do you believe that rushing a relationship can allow a person’s true character to be observed?

How do you slow things down without pushing everything off the rails? Would you be offended if the person you were dating wanted to slow things down?

You know we ALL know that trick! LMAO!

“Larry King’s picture is on their menu”
Was it next to Crinkly fries or limp noodles?

Changs is overrated if you ask me. I’ve found better Asian on Buford hwy. I couldn’t even tell you the name cause they don’t even bother to put the store sign or menu in english. But the food was out this world

@WD: If it makes you feel any better, it’s identical to conversations had by mothers and daughters everywhere. :)

@Swiss: Well, on the takeout menu. I don’t know about the in-store menu. But yeah, I can see where that might curb your appetite.

@CC: Wasn’t it WD who said that about lips????

WD-

You are correct that Buford Highway has some great Asian food! Yeah, there a places with no english on the sign. My cousin & I mentioned that the other day. We could be missing out of “free sex” or something like that.

You might be more correct than you know, PG! I was gonna get a foot massage while I was over there, but the first place I went, the windows were tinted so dark you couldn’t see in and the door was kept locked. She let me in, and re-locked the door behind me. I asked for a foot massage, but she said, “Oh, busy” even though she proceeded to let two men in and send them straight to the back, locking the door behind each guy. I was like, “Nope. Too shady for me!” and went on down the street.

Ugh…just got another text from him that I’m not going to respond to at this time…”Seriously, I like you and want to be your friend. I do not want a girlfriend. I do not want sex. I respect your knowledge and what you do for the blues and the fund, etc. I wish we could just be good friends, really.”

This is an example when texting is not great. He was all about communication last week when we talked. He was the one who said the word “dating” to me. He was the one who pursued me. Now, he’s changed his tune. He should have told me this face to face, but he needs to hide behind a text.

I won’t reply and then I’m sure he’ll say something about me not talking to him. Then I will respond and say that he said I’m being childish when he’s the one who wouldn’t talk to me all weekend and then hides behind a text. If he really respects me, he would have come and talked to me face to face…

CoMon-yeah we were talkin about lips, but to be honest, my type was tall, chocolate, and bo-legged, or least it looks like it when she stands back on them; however, I have a real love of women.

I can generally find something worth-noting on just about any woman….I’m am partial to my sistas, but I have tried other flavors and found them to be delicious as well, but Chocolate is my fav. I top out at about the Jill Scott range, lil Jill. As a man, I am truly blessed to be able to look at all the beautiful women this world offers, I only wish that each Individual lady could see her own beauty as I do. No surgeries,no Body Magic, just be you!!!

ITL – I needed to vent about it. It just ticks me off. I’ve been nothing but nice and caring towards him and now he changes his tune because I got trashed at a blues bar on a Friday night. Like he’s Mr. Perfect.

Better I vent here about it than talk to him at this moment…

That was one of the reasons that I quit watching America’s Next Top Model and really have a problem with pageants in general. My wife doesn’t understand why i am so against children in pageant Joibenet Ramsey style. It tends to indoctrinate the young’un that they aren’t beautiful enough.

As for Next Top Model, that Janice Dickinson chick called enough females fat that really weren’t especially sistas.

My guess would be that he was all for the FWB arrangement, but quickly realized the he was actually dealing with a Stage 5 Clinger, and now he has to ab.ort that mission.

Side note: So, apparently you can’t say the word “ab.ort” on the blog. Stupid F#$KING filtering “logic!”
