Plastic surgery to improve dating success?

I watched a news report recently that featured a young lady who made the decision to get plastic surgery in order to improve her dating choices. Apparently, her chin, nose, or whatever body part she displayed on her online dating pictures did not garner the dates she really wanted.

She truly believed that her flaw was the source of her dating disappointments. I don’t know if this is extremely sad/disturbing or if it is a sign of the times. Are we becoming more shallow?

The idea that we have to chase some standard of beauty to attract people who seek partners solely on their looks just does not sit well with me. Obviously, we won’t to feel confident and attractive to people, but at what cost?

I wonder if the young woman ever considered writing a new profile instead of getting plastic surgery. Why does changing the outward appearance become more important than finding someone who likes us just as we are?

Maybe I am being too critical? What do you think. How do you think plastic surgery impact our dating habits?

Have you ever dated someone who has had a little nip/tuck? Was their improvement/change the thing that actually attracted you to them initially?

I cheat and put them in a slow cooker with a Lipton mix and seasonings and bay leaves etc but that is not the way folks cook them lol

swiss…I must say that I’ve never noticed any man’s nuts…That’s not the important part to me! Good for you for not getting a fake one!

Lady~ Sautee some garlic and onions in olive oil. (About 5-7 minutes) Add seasoned oxtails and brown. (About 10 mins depending on how many you’re cooking) Add water to cover. Once it boils, turn on low and simmer 2-3 hours with rosemary, basil, season salt, black pepper, and a pinch of oregano. Once oxtails are tender, add a can of diced tomatoes or two. Let simmer another 30-45 mins. Done! Make some rice to go on the side and you’re set.

Bluz~ I’m with you, never really thought about the nuts, but I guess I would if I met a man with one nut. Great topic of conversation! LOL! “Sooooo… what happened to your other nut?”

I cooked oxtails once. I went to the curb market and had a tail cut up. They were “okay.” I cooked neckbones….once. Got those too, from the curb market. After all that cleaning and digging junk out, I was too done…lol Shamefully, the other half of neckbones that I bought are still in the freezer.

C~ I’m with you on the okra and tomatoes. My granny used to make that and I still love it. Also, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers in vinegar with salt & pepper. Yummy!

Lady~ The trick with the water is to cover the oxtails and keep them just barely covered. If you get too much water they have no flavor and if you don’t get enough they are dry. Also, try adding chicken stock or bullion to the water. That adds some real zing to them.

Now, for beans I don’t like ham hocks period, so I don’t use for seasoning. I will though use beef bullion cubes. Yummmy…lol

For collards, I use smoked neck bones for seasoning. Yummy!

Cel – I just want to say, I cooked breakfast before church yesterday…then came home and made some moist mmm mmm meatloaf, rice, sweet peas and some sauted spinach for the beau. It wasn’t Carrabba’s good but he said it was close lol We’ll be having leftovers tonight. I want to tackle lasagna soon though. But for some reason I feel intimadated by it.

Lady – Whatchu put in that slammin mac-n-cheese? :D

CC – I think your 12:15 was on point.

I teared up when I talked to my niece the other day to see how her first day at pre-school went. Apparently, they sang songs, colored, played and ate snacks lol

Sister update: I got a text from her this afternoon to say “I LOVE YOU!” :D

Slim – Breakfast and dinne….fantab! I LOVE meatloaf but I rarely make it. My cousin owns a catering business and turned me on to Hunts Meatloaf Mix. Next time you make it, try that. You won’t need anything…just the mix. The meatloaf is soooo tender…Yummy Do you every make (real) mashed potatoes with your meatloaf? That’s all I will eat with mine. I hate boxed potatoes…ugh

Your meal sounded delish. Meatloaf sandwich the next day is delish!!! I will say though, meatloaf is one of those things I won’t eat out too quickly. Only at Okay Cafe…uggggh, TO DIE FOR

I CANNOT make mac and cheese…I’ve tried.

Cel – I prefer homemade mashed potatoes as well but I have done the boxed ones for time’s sake. We did yellow rice last night though because for some reason the beau acts like he grew up in China or Japan. That fool will eat rice everyday I’d let him. I try to encourage him to eat more veggies which is why I made him spinach. I personally cannot stand cooked spinach. i’ll only eat it raw in a salad. I’ve attempted mac-n-cheese several times. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes not so much. lol

Okay, that was funny….lol I’m not a big rice eater. I’ve had cooked spinach only once. A cousin was keeping the kid for me a few years back, she’s neice to the caterer I mentioned and she can throw down as well. When I picked the kid up, she’d fixed me a plate for dinner. Cooked spinach, which was half bad, smothered pork chops and a baked potatoes smothered in gravy and cookies she and the kid baked (for me). It took me literally, two days to eat all of that. I asked her how in the world did she eat like that EVERYDAY?! I can’t even lie, it was good like them old folks use to cook.
