Plastic surgery to improve dating success?

I watched a news report recently that featured a young lady who made the decision to get plastic surgery in order to improve her dating choices. Apparently, her chin, nose, or whatever body part she displayed on her online dating pictures did not garner the dates she really wanted.

She truly believed that her flaw was the source of her dating disappointments. I don’t know if this is extremely sad/disturbing or if it is a sign of the times. Are we becoming more shallow?

The idea that we have to chase some standard of beauty to attract people who seek partners solely on their looks just does not sit well with me. Obviously, we won’t to feel confident and attractive to people, but at what cost?

I wonder if the young woman ever considered writing a new profile instead of getting plastic surgery. Why does changing the outward appearance become more important than finding someone who likes us just as we are?

Maybe I am being too critical? What do you think. How do you think plastic surgery impact our dating habits?

Have you ever dated someone who has had a little nip/tuck? Was their improvement/change the thing that actually attracted you to them initially?

In fact…I kind of wanted to let this detail slide, but I’ve been honest with ya’ll so far, so why not be totally honest still. After 15 minutes, I sent him a text saying “feel free to crash on couch.” That’s when he came upstairs…

Bluzy – From your auntie and with love….a drunk woman (all the time or most times), is not all that appealing. Well, it is for smashing and doing ungodly things you won’t remember in the morning. You see these stories of chicks waking up God knows where and can’t remember how they got there or what they did??? Just like a drunk dude ain’t all that appealing, I would imagine a drunk chick is worse.

Cel – I know, I know! LOL! Maybe that’s what weirded him out, but we did have sex after that!

Yes, I was drunk, but I wasn’t stumbling or anything. Just very affectionate and flirty. Also…another way of being disrespectful was that I asked him to drive and we took my car because he has tools in the back of his truck (and his seatbelts are defective). I had mentioned to him about being a good boy with the drinking because he was driving my 4 month old car. I didn’t think about it until the next day, but he did have a couple of drinks at the show, then when we went out afterwards, he had two drinks. JUST like my ex would do!!! At the time, I didn’t say anything about it because I was drunk, but it does tick me off that he still drank when he was driving my car. Alcohol problem…I think so!!!

I wasn’t going to comment on bluz’ post because it’s typical bluz but I can’t help but ask – you’ve got a deaf cat??? that’s almost comical. so your deaf cat got out and you had to go outside and find it. you couldn’t call it because it couldn’t hear you. how did you track down the cat??? I can’t help but think of the street signs that read “deaf child area”.

Bluzy – This is all Imma say and get on off because I need to work, y’all should have taken the bus. Neither of you should be drinking and driving. Gotta smack your hand for that 11:39, for even letting him drive your car…drinking or no….cause y’all are only FWB. You have GOT to set the right tone out of the gate to avoid these problems going down the road…just repeated advice.

disco…yes, I have a deaf cat. He’s my baby…he’s 11 years old and I found him when he was 4 weeks old. I was FREAKING out. Called my dad and he came over, but I did eventually find him two houses down. I walked up and down the street and when I came back up the second time, I saw him by the neighbor’s car, sniffing it. I ran and swooped him up. Good thing he is deaf since he couldn’t hear me coming!!!

Cel and CC – Well…you know when you’re drunk, you don’t realize how much someone else drinks? He didn’t drink much, but looking back, I know that if we had gotten pulled over, it would have been trouble. He had told me several times in the past that he doesn’t drive drunk. I know he wasn’t drunk, but still…he should not have had those two drinks when we went out to eat after the show. I wish I had been in a better frame of mind to stop that.

CC – all I was willing to take from that was the deaf cat. the deaf cat is funny. the rest is typical bluz. almost any of us here could have predicted the outcome of her weekend with old boy but I don’t think any of us would have come up with an escaped deaf cat. that’s funny or at least it’s funny to me.

Bluzy – You shouldn’t have loaned him your car. If you’re going to be in it to win it (IJS), then you roll in what he’s riding…until he get his comeuppance….if you like him. Don’t get me wrong in what I’m saying. I’m not saying accept crap or anything but if you like a dude that’s driving a beat up truck, heck…ride with him in the truck.

But in y’alls situation, it’s hard to lay anything out because it’s really not founded upon anything or established. Y’all operating and going off your loins….lololol

Bluz~ Let me give you some facts. For the average person, 1 drink will put you over the legal limit if you drive within one hour of drinking it. There is no way, in the state of GA that you can leave a bar after having a drink that is NOT breaking the law unless you have a DD or take a cab. There are services (such as SafeRide America) that will pick you and your car up and take you home for about the same cost as a cab. Before you tell me you can’t afford a cab, on the cheap end, defending a DUI will run you between $5,000 and $7,000. Not smart. Especially on a weekend. Comon will be getting off of her soapbox now…

Well, when I read I got into something sexy and pranced around in front of him and he didn’t seem to even react. I went to bed and he came up about 15 minutes later

I’m thinking why give him this kind of treatment from jump street? Seems to me that you would want to gradually expose him to that scooby snacks.

He went to Spain for the new year this year with my parents. Left the day after Christmas and came home on January 12th. I cried when he left for Spain and on New Year’s eve. I think it’s a safe bet that I’m gonna cry. LOL!

Lady – My kid didn’t start her cycle until she turned 13 but breasts and other “stuff” was growing and coming in….in full swing around the age of 9. I thought she would have started sooner because usually the cycle comes about a year after puberty kicks in.

Heck, I didn’t cry but I wasn’t exactly skipping either…lol You have to get “down there” and show them EVERYTHING. From keeping clean to knowing how to dispose. Ugh!

Howdy folks.

On topic: Eh, whatever floats your boat. Personally, I’ve never been a big fan of plastic surgery, but maybe that’s because the only time you ever really notice it is when it just doesn’t look right. But hey, if it makes you feel better about yourself, then knock yourself out, I suppose. But it’s not my bag, baby. Of course, if I became disfigured somehow, my opinion might change. I did actually have one doctor try to pitch me on getting a prosthetic nut. My thoughts were 1) who actually thinks nuts are aesthetically pleasing to look at even when you do have a matching, symmetrical pair, and 2) why would I want a foreign, artificial object sitting in my nut sack right next to the only good nut I have left? Never went back to that doctor…
