Judging the book

Single people can find themselves scrutinizing each other for every little thing. The problem starts when we find random things to judge each other about. Sometimes we have to find out right away, exactly what the flaws are.

We think that is a way to improve our dating odds, but it can have the opposite effect. Women notice how men have too many female friends. Instead of thinking this as a positive thing, we assume he has slept with all of them. Men notice that a woman has a great career. Instead of thinking she is ambitious and capable, they assume she has no idea how to put someone else first.

Judging a book by it’s cover – we do it all the time, I don’t know if we even know when we do it. Do you think you have a problem judging people too harshly?

Have you ever felt that someone judged you and made assumptions about you?

i used to say that i don’t have a sweet tooth, then s/o pointed out that pepsi is my sweet tooth. i may not crave cakes, pies or candy, but once i get started on pepsi i can go through a six-pack in a matter of minutes. what’s that about???

@Slim: No, in my case it would be craze.

@C: I’m trying to reign it in, but dang! Sweet stuff tastes too good. :(

@Bluz: That’s why you let Magnum pick up the tab. ;)

disco – No lie, all this talk about food, I just looked at the clock on my desk telephone and saw it’s after 4:00 and opted to take a pass. But I was headed down the snack lane a minute ago. Being this late, I can make it. Think I’ll have ice water instead :)

Plain twix, or just twix ain’t never been all that exciting…lol

CC/Brat – Thanks, I am very proud of her. And this was at a science & technology camp too.

I try to expose the kids to the finer things too, like my parents did. Exposure really makes a difference in them becoming well-rounded. When money is low, we at least try to go to a different spot every month or so for pizza or a dessert.

I used to be big on Cokes, then moved to diet coke (I’m talking craving the fizz) and now it’s water…water or water with Crystal Light :) I’m getting creative now. I’m mixing Ocean Spray Cran grape (version of Crystal Light) and CL lemonade flavor :) :)

brat – for the most part I’m “off” sodas. I may have one a few times a year. nine times out of ten that go to soda is always a pepsi. just something about it. my grandma wouldn’t drink it. said pepsi was no count a’tall because it didn’t make her burp like coke did. lol.

ITL – don’t feel bad. self-deprivation is not what this blog is about. this blog is about living in the moment. this blog is about living each day as if it’s your last. this blog recognizes that life is short and nothing is promised. on this blog we say “LET THEM EAT CAKE (or cookies, or chips, or candy bars…”

Being a GA girl, I’m Coke all the way (well, Coke Zero now). Our pastor used to say that Pepsi tastes like a wet dog smells. I’m inclined to agree.

that’s the thing disco, i don’t drink sodas. mostly because it’s a coke world here in the SE, USA and i really don’t like their products. but once i let myself start on pepsi or cherry 7up i just can’t stop.
luckily for me, that’s maybe once or twice a year at the occasional backyard bbq.

bluz, i am freakishly comforted by thunderstorms. reminds me of monsoon season back home.

I may just be staying in the office a little later today…wanna see if the storms let up some.

I don’t know why I have such a huge fear of thunder and lightning, but my co-workers laugh at me because they hear me yelp! I’m not as bad as I used to be. When I first moved out on my own, there was a monster storm that scared me so bad that I grabbed my cat, my pillow, and my teddy bear and hunkered down in the hallway of my apt! There wasn’t even a tornado watch or anything!!! I can handle it better now, but still get shaky sometimes and yelp when the thunder is really loud.

brat – I never considered geography. most of my family loves pepsi with the exception of my grandparents who love coke. maybe it does have something to do with their “down south” upbringing. the rest of us are Yankees. I’ve never developed a taste for coke.

funny. I love thunder too. not so much a fan of lightning but I love thunder.

OMG…Taqueria Del Sol…love that place!!! Only been to the one on Howell Mill, but it’s been a while.

I’m glad I’ve discovered how good El Porton is and it’s only a couple miles from my house. I found out they have Taco Thursday, but not going tonight with this rain! They also have Margarita Tuesday, which I wish I hadn’t found out because I may start going. Great margaritas!

ITL~ When we want to drink & chill on your side of Cobb, we go to Mexico Lindo on South Cobb Dr. Great drinks. Ok food. Cinco de Mayo is off da chain there.
