Judging the book

Single people can find themselves scrutinizing each other for every little thing. The problem starts when we find random things to judge each other about. Sometimes we have to find out right away, exactly what the flaws are.

We think that is a way to improve our dating odds, but it can have the opposite effect. Women notice how men have too many female friends. Instead of thinking this as a positive thing, we assume he has slept with all of them. Men notice that a woman has a great career. Instead of thinking she is ambitious and capable, they assume she has no idea how to put someone else first.

Judging a book by it’s cover – we do it all the time, I don’t know if we even know when we do it. Do you think you have a problem judging people too harshly?

Have you ever felt that someone judged you and made assumptions about you?

speaking of outrageous costs. how come a family member of mine just got a new apartment and her rent is $23. yep. I said $23. I told my cousin that’s some BS. I’m all for subsidized housing and all that but where do you draw the line? this particular family member has no dependents, isn’t disabled, has no reason to need help other than she doesn’t want to do for herself. I said for $23 month she should be required to do 23 hours of community service a week. that’s some fraggle naggle bull to quote mike baisden.

I hear you Bluz. That’s not saying he wants more. That’s saying he wants to know how much you’ve gone mushy on him. No seriously, I hope you asked it back and he replied with a resounding YES, YES, YES!

Why you the only one footing the bill. I know, stay out of your kool-aid. The $300 increase would influence my decision as well. It’s so easy how someone not paying for it can chime in saying you’re being unfair.

I am the only one footing this bill because of the way we agreed to split his expenses. We split his school tuition. He pays for his uniforms, books, shoes, back to school supplies and any other academic related extra expenses. I pay for his ASP, lunches and extracurriculars that are non-academic.

You are not in my kool-aid because I invited you over. :)

My mom is having a hard time getting SS Disability and Medicaid help from her kidney cancer last year (with no insurance and $80k med bills) and someone who doesn’t need it gets $23 a month rent?!?! I’m sorry, but that just ticks me off

Comon – oh I so sorry, I didn’t know you wanted in on our lil brunch. Really I didn’t. You see its like this, I have a lil bit of history with Cel and ITL so I know they have been weighed, measured and passed qualifications. You on the other hand are relatively new and I’ve yet to get past the fancy cover and foreword (not to judge a book by the cover so to speak). My office hours are ……… I take applications on Thurs morn followed immediately by an dictation comprehension review.
Re your son – your kid only gets to go through HS once. The fees are not mandatory for everyone if you catch my drift. Scrubs pay while good players play.

ITL – all in good fun and no I would never call my fav wc hunny bunny a bench. Now while I’m giving suggestions next time throw some cheese in them eggs. Hahaha

“too flirty”? that’s a tad unusual for a dude. thanx for the warm welcome. i think i’ll sit and play for a spell.

bluz, don’t “decide” to want more. just be yourself. be patient. learn who he truly is. and let the “more” come naturally.

disco, when i managed section 8 housing i was appalled at how many of the residents probably made more and had more than the average working folk. they truly know how to bilk the system. shamelessly! (not accusing your family member of abuse, just saying.)

czB – I’m trying to be patient. It probably helps that he’s been out of town for a week and prob won’t come back until next week. Keeps me from seeing him a lot and developing feelings too fast. Right now, it’s a good friendship with some great D! :-) I was trying to just do the FWB, but it’s going beyond that. We’ll see. Not worrying about what it may or may not become…just enjoying what it is.

I know disco, but it’s still hard to see my mom go through what she has gone through when some people get it easily. Not saying your peeps got it easily…

brat – this particular family member isn’t balling but she’s just kind of sorry if you know what I mean. i’ve got a lot of what I call “program kings/queens” in my family. what do I mean by that? if there’s a program that’s giving away some goods or services my family members know how to make the program work in their favor. they know where all the sign ups are, they have good contacts, they even manage to meet deadlines. they make it happen.

I wasn’t very hungry at lunch time and now all of a sudden I’m starving. life’s tricky like that.

C~ If you want to keep throwing jabs over something you took out of context yesterday and have blown WAY too far out of proportion, then so be it. I am not one to tip toe around the elephant in the room. I enjoy good conversation and I seem to have found it here with the miscreants. I clarified what I said yesterday to make it clearly understood that it was in no way shape or form a racist remark, but you want to just run with it. Fine. You don’t have to like me, but I am not one to sit back and continuously ignore sideways remarks made in my direction. You got someting to say, spit it out. Otherwise, leave it alone.
